By the end result of the look of my new roof, that deserves 4 stars. However, prior to installation, we requested an English speaking rep. We were told only one available and he didn't speak English very well but that he could communicate a bit. We were told that he was a really "awesome" head of the crew. But I wouldn't think that the crew boss would allow the crew to drink alcohol on a customer's property. These guys, while working this job at my home were drinking beer and wine. I found an empty beer bottle in my front flower bed after the first day and after the second day, I found all six beer bottle caps and one wine bottle cap. This is not my first new roof installation on one of my homes. And it is true that most of these roofing crews could care less about the destruction of shrubs, flowers and trees around the home, but this crew was unbelievably inconsiderate. I was told that they would be careful of "tender" plants. They completely smashed and killed my shamrocks. They backed up over my front box hedges and broke the middle out of one. I watched as they began to clear one area of my roof and threw the shingles off carelessly and onto my ornamental grasses and into my shrubs breaking branches off the shrubs, smashing the grasses and breaking limbs off of two trees that I've babied for the past two years since planting them. Each of the three days that this crew was here, my yard was left in a total,ly filthy mess...besides the beer bottle ad beer and wine caps, the water, juice and soda bottles and plastic rim pieces were scattered all over the yard, cigarettes in my driveway and an empty package stuck in a shrub. After day two, my husband went out and picked up about three cups of nails (we do have a dog that walks in our yard). In the past, crews have picked up their trash before each days end, but this crew just dropped everything and walked away each day leaving my yard a horrid mess. I was afraid that we might have a wind come through and blow all over my yard and the yards of my neighbors the loose trash that this crew left sitting in my driveway in a torn up box. I went out and did my best to stuff everything tight into that box so that nothing would blow out and away. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the last day that anyone from the company came to check on these guys. I did report the alcohol drinking after the first day, but will never know if this was brought up with the crew as I was told it would be.Bottom line, would I ever use this company again? Well, roofing companies in my area are a dime a dozen. I can choose any that I want to roof my home. I generally give to each crew member who works at my home doing any type of work a bonus when a job well done is done. This was a rare time that I didn't because of their disregard for my lawn, my flower beds, and for drinking alcohol on my property while I'm paying them to work. No, I won't use Royal Ridge again.
