First, I am an ex Navy Nuke. I learned in the service that planning, scheduling, communicating and quality was paramount.How was your initial sales experience?After I signed, I asked multiple times "What would it do to my current PG&E deal and what would it cost if I were to upgrade my existing solar panels during the roof replacement?" He never responded.How was communication throughout your project?Horrible. There were a total of 10 missed scheduled events that got missed and no word from SemperSolaris. I had to contact to find out what was happening. Most were what I call soft schedules. "We will contact you in 3 to 10 days. 14 days an no contact.Do you have any comments about the onsite crew and their workmanship?They did not read my contract. The roof removal crew did not know they were supposed to remove my gutters and downspouts. They also threw away my bathroom vents that had a flap in it to prevent cold air from entering my house when the vent was off. I had to buy new ones.The installation crew also did not read my contract. They were supposed to put all black vents, flashing, trim, etc. They showed up with white trim, brown valleys and painted bare flashing grey. While to roof removal crew was very sensitive to garbage removal, the gutter crew was not. They liberally discarded pieces of gutter trim, rivet pieces and screws. The gutters leaked when I washed my solar panels. Can't wait for the first rain to see how the roof is.Are there any concerns I may address for you?My last contact was about the solar guys installing fall protection arresting gear in my new shingles. When they removed the gear, they slid small rectangles of flashing under the shingles and did nothing for the holes. Someone at SemperSolaris said they would be sending the roofing guys back out to replace the shingles. I've heard nothing more in three weeks. Example of one of the four locations with holes in my new roof.

I can highly recommend Semper Solaris, Semper just completed our solar project including a partial roof replacement and we're very happy with their services. The installation teams for both roofing and solar were prompt, professional and clean. There was always good communication keeping me informed of what comes next. Our new Enphase solar system with battery backup is working great and I love being able to track and see how the system is working each day right on their cool app. When we decided to do solar, I took multiple bids based on referrals from people I know and Semper not only beat the other companies prices, but their bid was more straightforward and clear. It's clear they know what they're doing. I'm a happy customer.

My dealings with Semper Solaris were positive from the very beginning. My sales person was Kevin Marzion and he helped guide me through the process and made it painless. He gave me all the options that were available to me and explained every one so that I was able to make an informed decision on how to proceed. When the workers showed up to replace the roof they did it at breakneck speed and had the roof removed and replaced in 2 days. The job was done thoroughly and efficiently and when they left the property was cleaned up completely. From the staff in the office to the sales to the workers on the roof it was all done professionally and very friendly. I would recommend this company Semper Solaris to anybody thinking of replace their roof on their home.

Over several years I've had plenty of people calling me and knocking on my door and giving me quotes for solar. Until this point, I've held off getting it installed as I've been unsure or confused with the packages I've been offered. Bill Bussey came in and made me feel comfortable from the very first minute. The presentation was clear, the options were clear, my questions were answered, the price was fair, and communications were superb. The install went super smoothly and I am one very happy customer!! Loving my $10 PGE bill!

TL,DR: Installations were pretty good, administratively kind of a mess.1. The roof installation phase of the project went off without a hitch: team was in, out, everything (all of it!) cleaned up and done exactly as contracted.2. The solar equipment is working well: solar panels and house battery. Great value for the price of equipment.3. Solar and battery installation had a few issues:First, they didn't bother trying to hide the conduit between thesolar array and the electrical panel. Just put the ugly gray piperight down the front of the house. That required an extra day tore-do.Second, failed another inspection because they didn't actuallyfollow the electrical plan. The electrician made "changes in redink" that were supposed to take care of it, but the "home officedidn't submit the revisions." Or so they explained. That wasanother couple weeks of delay in solar use. Turns out, theelectrician hadn't bothered to see if the county code where wewere located was different from his "usual places."4. The so-called solar rebate: so we got some money back, after several hours of calls and multiple back-and-forths via email. We had set it up so we wouldn't be paying anyone monthly payments or needing to put out a balloon payment... perhaps PG&E made things more difficult. Perhaps there were some internal processes that needed improvement. All I know is that they kept our money for approximately 2 months after PGE disbursed to the company.5. Too many administrative people sending too many documents for review and there didn't seem to be 1 project manager to whom we could turn for answers or issues. There was a team leader on site, there was an office manager, there was a person with corporate (located in San Diego), and there was a money person (also with corporate). We were gettings texts, phone calls, emails, all from different people and documents to sign from all of them . Recommendation: 1 Person.Service: Roof installation

I've been working with Semper Solaris for 8 months, starting in early January of 2023, on a large solar, battery and main panel upgrade (MPU) project for my home. Their communication is very poor, their process disconnected and overall they promise more than they deliver.I constantly have to pull information from my contacts rather than be given anything. They don't seem to understand the installation and have repeatedly asked for Change Orders for project changes they overlooked or for design issues that don't exist. I get the sense, their goal is to find ways to add COs instead of completing the project they scoped and designed.I am currently waiting on scheduling with PG&E and Semper Solaris to complete my MPU but no one seems to be able to schedule anything. I also can't schedule any solar or battery installation dates ahead of time. SO who knows when that will happen. My permits and PG&E reviews are complete (after 5 months!) but nothing is happening and nothing is scheduled.I highly recommend looking elsewhere for solar, battery and MPU.

I used Semper Solaris to install two Tesla Walls during a period of time when they were difficult to obtain from other vendors. Their pricing was on the high side, but as one of Tesla's largest dealers, they committed to installing the walls within a couple of months. Although I found the communication with the sales person to be rather poor, and without any follow-up, the installation was professionally done. The installation team was exceptional, and did a very clean install. The system was thoroughly tested and works well.

After receiving quotes from several very pushy solar sales companies I decided to contact Semper Solaris from a quick Google search of highly reviewed companies, not only was their rep knowledgeable but they did not push anything I was surprised after our consultation he did not offer a gimmick like "if you sign right now we can get you the best deal" he laid out everything for us and said if we would like to proceed to contact him. This was great because nobody likes to be pressured into a sale with the "act now or the price will go up". So besides all that their quote came in almost $15,000 less than other quotes received they also gave me a very nice discount for being a first responder (industrial firefighter) all permitting went smooth and they had our 20 panel system up in a day.We requested the panels for minimum view from the street and they also accommodated that with the best possible sun exposure. I would recommend them to anyone looking into solar.

Semper Solaris is the best solar company that I have found after interviewing almost 25 solar installation companies. We did couple things with them: a 6KW Solar Panel System installation and a Solar Attic Fan installation.The reason I chose them are below:• Their prices were best• Their financing solution is one of the best.• They took care all the paperwork and paid fees related to financing, permits, city and PG&E inspections. I didn’t have to do anything other than signing the contracts.• Sunpower Company strongly recommends them. They were the “"Residential National Dealer of the Year” for Sunpower panels in California for 2 consecutive years.• They now operate from 7 California locations including the SF bay Area.• They are a veteran owned California solar company.It was truly a joy in working with their San Diego based sales person David Bell. He is a very prompt in answering my emails and texts. He worked with me on a weekend and provided me all the details I needed to decide on the project and helped me step by step answering my questions.Semper Solaris team’s knowledge, skills and coordination gave us a very smooth solar panel installation experience. Their prices, professionalism and positive attitude towards any problem they encountered during the process is A+++.They are honest and good. He was honest and gave me realistic expectations for how long the process would take. The work crew likewise did a great job. I was considering going with a competitor, but Adrian sold me on the company, Semper Solaris, and the quality of equipment and service they provide.

They scheduled the inspection and then moved the date of the roof tear off, they didn’t tell the inspector, so he showed up. Several workers showed up late when they did get here, so they weren’t ready for the inspection, again. The workers left and 2 guys showed up to put the new roof on. It took them over 2 weeks. They did do a good job of getting the nails off the ground around our house. The roof seems fine now. This was in January 2022 and I’m just now being asked for a review. The sales guy/project manager disappeared after I sent in the deposit. They did solar and battery also. They installed it in February 2022, and they finally got it right in February 2023.Service: Roof installation

We signed a contract for 2 Tesla batteries to back up our power. We have 59 solar panels. They were supposed to be installed the following February, but there was a shortage of battery panels coming from Tesla. So we had to wait, but once they were available they were installed promptly and Semper did a great job with the installation! The only reason they didn't get a 5 star rating was because we needed to add a part at the last minute that enabled the backup system to run the air conditioner. I wasn't told about this originally so this added a few hundred bucks to the price. Also, it took much longer than anticipated to finally get them installed.

DO NOT USE SEMPER SOLARIS!Semper Solaris is incompetent! What should have taken 1 month, ended up taking over 7 months, countless calls to a worthless customer service, a letter to the CEO, and calls directly with PG&E.First, Semper Solaris did not follow their own installation plans that had been approved by the county. As a result, the panels failed inspection. Since the installation crew had already cut the holes (in the incorrect location) in my brand new form roof, they had to re-engineer the entire project. That took over 3 months for the panels to be reinstalled and FINALLY pass inspection.Then they advised that it should have taken approximately 5-10 business days to receive a "Permit to Operate" from PG&E. After 3 months of waiting and dozens of wasted time calls to customer service, I finally called PG&E directly. PG&E advised that Semper Solaris had submitted 6 applications that were rejected. PG&E advised that Semper Solaris had submitted the incorrect form TWICE. Even worse, Semper Solaris told me that PG&E was responsible for the delays. During one call, Semper Solaris even LIED to me and told me the Permit to Operate had been approved when in fact it was rejected. The Permit to Operate was finally issued in 2 days after I wrote a letter directly to the Semper Solaris CEO.It is clear that Semper Solaris' problems span across multiple departments (engineering, permitting, customer service and management). I strongly recommend NOT USING SEMPER SOLARIS FOR YOUR PROJECT

Semper Solaris added two Tesla Power Walls to an existing solar system. All phases of the project were handled in a very professional manner from design through final inspection. They made the process of applying for rebates and permits painless and did a great job of dealing with local inspectors. I will use them again when it is time to upgrade my system.

Started this process in October 2022, My project was finalized in May of 2023 by my City. So, Semper Solaris stole my final payment with not notice (simple email would be nice). I still do not have a working system. I had SCE come out to look at my Meter and was informed my system was install incorrectly! When I called to inform the Solar Company they said we will schedule someone to come out.....Still Waiting!

This has, and continues to be one of the worst business decisions and experiences of my life! Solar installation project has been consistently riddled with poor business practices, short on commitments and very, very unresponsive. Semper Solaris also damage my 5 year old roof, leaving holes with broken off lag screws in it. They refused timely inspection and repair, and continues refusing to acknowledge or reimburse me for any repairs needed. And during this horrible rains we’ve been having too! I wouldn’t recommend Semper Solaris in any way! Beware!

Semper had done good job in installation. But they were suppose to monitor the production, for 6 months there was a disruption they did not and it costed me $1000. Recently I contacted them to add few more panels to the existing system they installed. The expert speaking with me acted he knows everything but unfortunately he does not. This is question about if I add few panels whether I will be in NEM2.0 or NEM3.0 and how do you handle this. He blabbered for some time and hung the phone (even though I gave my phone number to call me if this gets disconnected he did not call so this is deliberate since he could does not have the information). Just for the first sale they are very responsive, but solar is not just one time installation they have to stand for their words.

Overall positive experience. I am very pleased with the final product and it's installation. I pulled the trigger in April of 2021, the install happened in September 2021, and we were up and running shortly thereafter. Semper Solaris was good at explaining things along the way, except I feel they could have better communicated how the rebates and incentives would work. Unlike with my solar panel lease (different company) I had to pay full price upfront for everything, and I am still waiting on my incentive payment from PG&E, and we'll see how hard or easy it is to get the tax rebates next year.

The Semper Solaris team was efficient, knowledgeable and very professional throughout our project. From the start our representative Chelsea initiated the process and kept us informed along the way regarding what to expect. I especially appreciated the assistance provided regarding the rebate program.But we were especially wowed and impressed with their installation team which consisted of Adam, Will and Remy. These installers really know what they were doing and do it well! The day of installation we were without power due to the power shut off. These installers worked continuously until late in the evening to ascertain we would have power. That’s dedication! So kudos to Semper Solaris for hiring their team and I’m hoping they receive recognition for a job well done!

I wish I had read the multiple negative reviews about Semper Solaris before deciding to go with them for our solar panels and storage batteries. They deserve the worst rating possible for their customer service and faulty equipment. If you are a new customer they will respond right away but after that - you are stuck in the dark. Literally. When PGE power lines went down (4 times this year) we were in the dark as if we did not just spend 30K to prevent that exact scenario.Initially it took Semper Solaris multiple visits/crews to install our batteries and the gateway. The crews mostly did not seem familiar with the Enphase product they were installing. Then it took months between diagnosing a faulty part to actually ordering it, and now they have been sitting on it for a month. We are still waiting for them to come install it and see if this whole system will actually work. All this only after we left 7 urgent messages by phone and email since there is no way to speak to an actual customer service person.Both my husband and I work from home. We are dependent on power for our livelihood and this was our solution to secure our work and income. Aside from the immense frustration of paying a lot of money for a product and service that don't work, we also lost countless days of work.Semper Solaris, as their name sake, missed the point of the US Marine's Semper Fidelis motto, being negligent and disloyal to their customers.Do yourself a good service and find a different company for your solar and battery needs.Added after receiving response from Semper Solaris -Hi Tracy, I can appreciate that you took the time to respond to my review but it is not really helpful. Your suggestion is that I contact the Semper Solaris office. If you read my review you will see that the way your customer service is currently set up - it is not possible to reach anyone, and no one returns calls even after I left numerous messages and emails.I can possibly contact your office if you send me a direct number where I can speak with a human instead of my current experience where every number I call, goes to an automated hold for 30 mins, and then hangs up.

My sales rep, Matt, was super knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. On the day of installation, the project manager was very meticulous and went above and beyond to make sure all the wiring was done correctly and visually appealing. The crew didn’t have to make the wires nice and tidy but they did, and I really appreciate that extra effort. I appreciate that the company hires mostly veterans. I highly recommend Semper Solaris.

We purchased two Tesla Power Wall 2 units, the install is very clean and was completed on time and on budget. Only 4 of 5 stars because they needed to edit and resubmit our rebate application to PG&E so we are yet to receive those funds.

The panels and battery are fine, when they work. Everyone you talk to is friendly. However, customer service is terrible. We wanted a battery put in with the panels, but the salesman explained they were back-logged, but he'd let me know when they were available. When the workmen came out to install panels, they happened to let it drop that they were installing batteries now. Then it took 3 weeks before someone got back to me about getting a battery.Have a problem? They'll "get back to you". If you keep after them. And if there's any issue with the battery reporting to the company, the panels don't work; they don't store, they don't power your house, they don't push back to PG&E. There are other issues, mostly minor, but it seems to me that if you spend tens of thousands of dollars for their product, they'd give you a bit more supportService: Roof installation

Stay away from this business! I trusted Semper Solaris to both install a new roof and solar panels. Last summer the roof began to leak, so they replaced it. Unfortunately the installation was poor and the roof began leaking again recently. To make matters worse when the roof was replaced, the crew broke a solar panel and did not reinstall the other panels properly leaving me with a system that generated hardly any power. It is now late January 2023, after contacting Semper Solaris, the company is claiming it is not responsible for the leaks and my solar panels are still not working properly. The representatives I spoke to, Ben Gutierrez and Tim Molek will also not return my calls, after leaving numerous voicemails.Service: Roof installation

I had solar panels and a power wall installed, and it required also, a new roof. I was pleased that everything could be handled in a package deal with Semper Solaris, and the work went well although it was slowed down waiting for permitting, which was delayed because of covid. But the system is up and working well, and I am pleased with the result. Although there were problems with the roof work, Semper Solaris was prompt in correcting it. I would definitely recommend this company for solar panels and power wall work.

The sales person was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the various aspects of our system and also very responsive, without being pushy. The installation crew was very efficient, very professional and friendly and completely the installation in no time. The office team was also very good at getting all the permits and other documents approved and signed off in record time. Overall we had a really great experience with Semper Solaris and would very highly recommend them to anyone thinking about installing a solar system!
