We had a 14,000 watt backup generator installed recently. The crew did a great job installing the unit exactly as I requested. They obviously have a great deal of experience, are friendly, and easy to work with. Mike answered all of my questions, made sure I understood how the system works, and didn't leave until I had all of my questions answered.The price was also very reasonable. I would use them again, and will recommend them!

Can’t recommend Fisher Electric enough in the Monterey area. Had an issue that needed to be resolved quickly to be able to work from home and they were able to come out first thing on Monday morning to get it fixed. Rafael was nice and explained what they were doing throughout the whole process. If you’re looking for an electrical work in the area definitely go with Fisher!

During a large storm a couple weeks ago, a tree fell and ripped out the electrical line from our house. It took almost 4 days for PG&E to come out only to find that since the pole attached to the line is not owned by PG&E, they could not help. We called Fisher Electric and they came out within one hour and were able to reattach the line. After being without power for so long, we were very thankful that Fisher Electric was so diligent!! We will continue to use Fisher Electric in the future!

Fisher Electric was my first call--and only call!My decoration team was setting up for a special event/wedding in San Jose, CA. when we learned that a wire from a very expensive neon sign was damaged. This piece of artwork meant everything to the couple since their entire event was designed around the significance of the neon sign. It was past 8 pm when I called Mr. Fisher and without hesitation, he offered me IMMEDIATE help without a single question. Not only was he prompt in solving the matter, and very courteous, but he was also extremely professional and truly one of a kind.Mr. Fisher was very upfront with the time of the project and had everything done in seconds well ahead of what I was expecting. This is not a reputable company. They are supposed to pull permits, and they do not pull them and they tell you that they have where they have not because of the fact that they did not pull permits on the job at my home on replacing the electrical panel. The county of Santa Cruz came out red tagged them , we were without power for five days. The problem has still not been corrected. They were supposed to have PG&E disconnect from the pole and they were supposed to have PG&E reconnect to the pole. they did neither That has now put the permit that they ended up having to pull because they got caught.,in jeopardy with the county of Santa Cruz. Do not hire this company. They are liars and they scam you in order to get the job do not hire. we were on a generator for five days we lost all the food in our refrigerator. We ended up losing the refrigerator because of that interrupted power source we had which was a 3500 Watt generator that we were on for five days. Honestly don’t hire this company.

For some reason my review did not post. The power in our upstairs primary bedroom went out randomly (plugged in a blow dryer and it went out, figured a breaker was tripped but that wasn't the case). Our home is a new build (2019) so I assumed this would be an easy fix. I Googled local electricians and Fisher Electric came up with decent reviews. I called and they said someone could come out in the next hour (yay!!!). They told me upfront the cost would be $250 per hour and I accepted that. The electrician that came out was SUPER nice but he was not able to figure out the issue. He spent about 1.5 hours and then told me unfortunately he can't figure out what the issue is and it's getting late and that he could come out again with a more senior colleague. He then asked $375 for payment. I was speechless because my electrical issue was not solved and it hurt to hear that he would need to consult with a more senior colleague with more experience. He asked for payment in check form and I unfortunately didn't have a check and told him I could pay with credit card or Zelle. He said credit card was fine but there's a transaction fee and asked to take a picture of my credit card, which I was not okay with (umm what? hello security and fraud). I requested an invoice to be sent and he said they could do that. I received an invoice for $375. This company was definitely fast to respond but I don't think the employees are properly trained / have enough experience. I'm still stunned when I think about how my husband and I paid $375 for absolutely nothing to be resolved. The real kicker is my husband Googled electrical issues and read up on it and then opened up a light switch that is literally adjacent to the power outlet where I plugged in the blow dryer, tightened the wires, and our power came back. It blows my mind that the electrician that came to our house didn't even bother to check the light switch RIGHT next to this power outlet. Do your due diligence and find someone with the adequate training and experience.

When I called Fisher Electric, Mike picked up the phone almost immediately. He was able to come out the next morning to assess our issue, and his technician arrived with the necessary parts and equipment a couple of hours later. The technician was wonderfully communicative at all steps of the process, explaining what he would do/had done, or what he had found in his investigation of our issue. And the price for the work seemed pretty reasonable for these days. I look forward to using them again in the future!

I rarely post reviews but in this case I feel compelled to warn potential customers of Fisher Electric. I used them based on all the positive reviews. Big mistake. Another mistake was to pay them before the job was complete. I have since done a more thorough search and found some negative reviews on Yelp and Google.I hired them to replace my electric panel and install a 40 amp plug in the garage. I paid Mike after the two items were installed but before the new stucco was applied around the new panel. Mike had to leave while one of his employees stayed and another was making a run to Home Depot for the stucco material.While the stucco was being applied, I noticed they had not put protective (waterproof) paper behind the stucco. The employee assured me it wasn’t necessary. After they completed stuccoing and left, I opened the panel and noticed the switches weren’t labeled. The switches on my old panel (that they removed and discarded) was properly labeled.I immediately sent an email to Mike advising him of the missing labels. He responded, apologizing for the oversight, and said he would be there the next day or two to do the labeling. On day three I sent him a reminder of the oversight. No response and it is now two weeks since the installation.If he had done the labeling I wouldn’t be complaining about the shoddy stucco work: it is uneven, does not match the old stucco and there are gaps between the stucco and the new panel. Also, from my research, it appears having a waterproof membrane behind the stucco is vital.If he had done the labeling I wouldn’t be complaining that he had to borrow my sledge hammer to break the stucco around the old panel; and I wouldn’t be complaining that after they used my rake to clean up the debris there was still a significant amount of debris left.I can only hope the electrical work was done professionally.Within a few hours of posting my review, I received an email from Michael apologizing that he forgot to do the labeling. After exchanging a few emails and a phone call, it was agreed he would (without charge) remove the stucco, apply the appropriate paper, wire and new stucco, as well as label the panel.His application of the Fortiflash, without appropriate overlapping and its exposure beyond the stucco, was amateurish. See pictures. Hopefully the two layers of Fortiflash that he installed will be adequate. The actual stuccoing was an improvement from his employee’s work, but still uneven.He also left stucco on my flagstone where he cleaned his tools. See picture. Fortunately I was able to clean it up before it dried.He said he had no excuse why there was no protective paper installed the first time. This whole experience makes me wonder how many panels his company has installed (over 20 years) without proper protective paper.Service: Electrical panel replacement or upgrading

There price was very reasonable for work done. I have used Fisher Electric many times over the past year. First time was to replace many lights, main panel, and sub panel after PG&E sent a surge through my home. I was so happy with the quality and workmanship, I used them to put in a Generic, solar panels, Tesla charger as well as some pendant lights. They get the job done fast and perfectly. Fantastic service for generator installation. Sensitive to an emergency situation, both the free estimate and the job itself were scheduled extremely fast and the cost was very reasonable. The installation was difficult due to the specific layout of my house not to mention the pouring rain, but was flawlessly executed in about 6 hours (and that includes someone crawling under my house!). I needed to have a portable generator with solar panels set up for a 800 sq ft room, not whole house. I contacted several electricians via yelp and Angie's list to get quotes. While others ignored my request, asked for pictures or set up estimate appts but never sent estimates, Fisher Electric was the only one that responded quickly. Mike showed up when he said he would listened to what I needed and understand what I needed, I received a detailed estimate quickly and scheduling options. On the day of my appointment they showed up early and were able to do additional work providing me accurate quotes, with no additional surprised costs. Once again Fisher Electric has offered great service. We had an issue where our hardwired outlet for the generator kept tripping the generator so the generator was running but was not charging our refrigerator. Rafael came out, and when the diagnosis of the full issue was going to require going inside the walls, he offered an elegant solution of an additional hardwired plug. He also filled our generator with oil and fixed an interior light for us. All this on a very short notice. Repaired a flickering chandelier. They told my wife there was a loose wire in the fixture and completed the entire job in under 30 minutes. Didn't bring a ladder so they had to use mine. A pair of pliers and 20 minutes of work and they charged my wife $234. We've called the office several times requesting receipts but nobody has called us back or provided us with anything. Also.... Chandelier is already flickering again. I read the reviews and thought this was a good company turns out to be false and I'm pretty sure they subbed out my work which is why they won't send me any information on my repair.Service: General repairs

Mike Fisher charged $250 each way for $500 total travel for the 38 miles between Scotts Valley and my home. Plus he charged $440 for the hour and 10 minutes his electrician was here to install a single outlet only 10 feet from the main electric panel. When I objected by phone, email and letter he refunded $200 from the $900. I overpaid. So i ENDED UP PAYING $700 for installation of a simple electrical outlet.
