We had Citadel install solar panels on our property 3 years ago and just recently, upgraded with a Franklin back up battery. Work was all completed and final inspection done on March 5th. From the time I contacted Gideon on both separate projects until completion every one who work on the installation and communication was superb. Installation of the battery and re configuring the main electric panel was done by Kevin and Christian, IN THE MUD!!!! One slight over site in clean up was corrected on the same day I informed Brandi and Kevin came out at the end of a long work day and took care of. That's service. Jose' came for the final inspection, answered my questions and gave me a run down on operation of my new battery. We are very pleased. Great people.

We had noticed our solar was not working. Tyler and Eric from Citadel came out, assessed and repaired the problem. Tyler was so helpful. He took the time to stick around for an hour after the repair to make sure the solar was back up and running properly. He noticed a low reading and discovered that a tree was shading a considerable part of our solar. Again, he took the time to patiently and thoroughly explain the issue and the remedy. I appreciated his kind help very much. He even reached out today to check in with us to make sure the solar was working properly. I would recommend Citadel to anybody considering solar.

Absolutely fantastic job with our solar and Powerwall project, start to finish... Evan in sales was responsive and professional, our project manager Megan was always prompt and courteous keeping us up to date and moving things along. The installation was completed in two days by an experienced crew (Francisco & his team on the roof, Lam & Kevin with the power equipment). The field team was right on schedule and cared absolutely about quality and finished work. Now I'm watching on a Tesla app as sun power completely carries the home load and charges the powerwalls to continue carrying the home load after sunset. Awesome job... we recommend Citadel completely!

Citadel installed a new standing seam roof and solar system at my house. Everything went as smooth as could be. Gideon Richardson (sales) was reachable whenever I needed him and was super knowledgeable about the process. Ended up getting a great loan through a bank partnered with them (even in this higher rate environment). I cant recommend them more, a really easy experience and my new roof looks great.

Just want to say that I worked with Citadel Roofing and Solar, specifically Gideon, Patty, Juan, and Jasmine and they were just incredible. This was a long process and they worked with us to get all the permits/inspections performed. They helped me understand the whole process and really made me feel comfortable with the process. Gideon (Salesman) , worked hard to earn our business. Permissions, permits and installation was approved in a timely manner. However, our system was installed with a dis functional backup software system that Citadel offered excuses for and blamed the manufacturer. After almost 2 months of excuses, we told Kellen, a VP at Citadel, to get the system working within 48 hours or come out and remove the solar system from our property with a complete refund. Funny how Kellen got the system working within the 48 hours, but refused to offer a discount or take any responsibility for their poor service, saying it was not their fault. Citadel also offers a $500 referral fee, but as of today has not paid anything to the person that referred us. We should’ve gone with Sunrun.

Citadel professionally guided me through the process to design the appropriate solar system size based on power usage and available roofing space . Citadel kept the communication channel open to keep me in the loop during the permitting process and coordination with PG&E. Citadel delivered what they promised. I came through Citadel looking for Solar on our Fremont home and Ambrish Batheja totally came through. He looked over how much energy we spend over the year and was able to calculate how many panels we should have. Even letting us know in the future how many we would need if we added a/c and/or an electric vehicle. These were very informative. Too bad we didn’t find out about the company before we installed our new roof tiles. Otherwise we would have prob used them for the roof and solar panels. Like all things you can’t do everything alone and he had a great team, with Patty and the workers that came out.In the future I will have a commercial project and can’t wait to get the team involved in it again. They are a great asset to the company. If it wasn’t for this team I probably would not have done Solar.If you want to learn more ask for Ambrish. From first quote to start up and finish super easy company to deal with! Gideon and Holly were awesome during our consult phase, options and selections (who knew there were so many color options for a roof!) Zach was the project manager once we started work and was very easy to communicate with and was very quick and responsive! Crew was great about taping off and marking for safety where they were, which was great since we were on site for part of the work and I have littles. Purchased solar 3 years ago from another company that is now out of the solar biz. Received a true-up bill from pg&e (pathetic gas & electric) for $300, which was our first clue that the solar panels weren't working as usual. Called the manufacturer and they sent Citadel Solar out to troubleshoot.Enter Tyler Jones who arrived first thing on the morning, so we didn't have to wait around all day, and climbed up on the roof and discover a metal box under a solar panel had filled with water most likely from all the rain we experienced last year. The problem was the original installer neglected to drill a hole in the bottom of the box for drainage. Tyler took care of the box with water and put a hole in the bottom so it shouldn't repeat the issue.Tyler was prompt, quick, thorough and polite in his work and explaining the problem.We're looking forward.to regaining the benefits of having a working solar system again.

Overall I can strongly recommend Citadel. They were by far the best price I got (and I met with several local solar companies as you should before signing a contract). We went into contract in early May 2020. COVID presented a few challenges for us, and probably was the main cause of us not getting an install until late July. However, the install was almost flawless with a truly professional crew. Simply cannot praise them enough. They did an amazing job with hiding the conduit so it was entirely invisible. The panels are low rise (see photo) and while I expected the panels to be more imposing you really don't know they are there. Also, as a roofing company, they understood how to deal with a cement tile roof installation.We went with their recommended panels (REC) 320 watt even though most installers are selling 350 watt panels now. 320 watt are sort of "last year's model" but we had room for additional panels and going with the 320 watt panels saved money. If you are getting high quotes for 350 watt panel installation this is a possible alternative for you.I will say I considered holding back one star because of the project management process. Our sales contact Gideon was terrific, but the handoff to project management had a few bumps. It seems like their project managers are stretched thin, and as a result we did not get the attention we should have during the long wait between contract execution and installation. While that was frustrating at times it was not a dealbreaker. In the end our project manager rebounded and managed the permit process and installation coordination well so he earned back that last star. He was easy to work with but would have benefited from a little more supervision? As I said not a dealbreaker just an area for improvement for Citadel to take note.Our first bill post-solar full month bill is is due in September but the system has been cranking since day one. You can feel comfortable going with Citadel for this investment! We are very pleased with this job.PROS: Very competitive price; very professional company with excellent installation; good customer support (so far); smooth installation process with highly qualified installers; honest; fairCONS: Some lag time after contract execution; project support lagged at times prior to installation.PROJECT: 23 solar panels with a main panel upgrade. 7.36kW system. Enphase IQ7 inverters. REC320NP solar panels.COST: $23,000 +/- including main panel upgrade.EXPECTED TAX CREDIT: $6,000. Net cost $17,000 +/-.

Liam one of the account manager there was excellent. I highly recommend him. I helped my 87 year old aunt plan solar panels in and a new roof in Berkeley. Liam was great. Easy to work with. Responsive. Knowledgeable and EXTREMELY patient with my Aunt who had a ton of questions. Very happy working with Liam and Citadel. Also prices were the best.

I am very happy with Citadel. Their estimated re-roofing and solar panel installation quote was about five thousand dollars less than their major competitor and was not a "hard sell". When a permitting issue rose up, the company successfully negotiated with my town in order to save me several thousand dollars. They kept me informed throughout the project and finished everything when they said they would. They suggested how I could save a great deal of money by installing rain gutter mesh on my own. Because they were prompt about completing the paperwork with PG&E, I was able to qualify for the NEM2 reimbursement rates before they were superseded by the NEM3 rates. Finally, they did a thorough job of cleaning up debris from the re-roofing.

We had a class action lawsuit settlement claim on our previous solar panels and it was assigned to Citadel Roofing & Solar. They were very communicative and show up on time for appointments. Their work was professional. The technician needed to go up to the attic and he was cautious in not messing up our house. We were satisfied with and would recommend their service.

I chose Citadel roofing and solar after reviewing several solar quotes from various sources. After signing the contract I was assigned with a project manager (Megan) who kept me up to date with the progress and ETAs through out the project.In comparison to others within my community who went with other vendors and had their contracts signed before me, my project moved ahead at a stead pace much faster and also finished a lot ahead of the rest of them.Citadel was able to work with my city's officials/inspectors quickly to get inspection appointments and re-appointments to get through the necessary inspections/clearances.PGE was able to provide me the Permit To Operate within a week of application - which was pretty fast considering the huge rush at this point of time.Overall it took about 4 months from the time of contract signing to Permit to Operate, longer than the initial estimate but this was during the peak time when many homes were trying to get into NEM 2.0.All the ground workers/installers were Citadel employees (unlike other projects/vendors who hire contractors) and were professional & courteous, shout out to them as they are the ones who did the job on the ground.Would definitely recommend Citadel Roofing and Solar.People I worked with: Chris from Sales, Megan and Brandi the project managers.

This company is new to us this summer! The customer service is superior-the technicians are excellent. They are knowledgeable, arrive at scheduled time, courteous and great about follow up information when the service is complete. Bernice responds very promptly to emails, and arranges for the technicians to come out. Our first experience was in June to replace 3 micro inverters. this is on a system that they did not install but due to retirement of the installer we were needing help! Eric was the first technician and this past week TJ was here to resolve a connection issue. They both provided excellent service. We are so pleased and happy to know we have found a business that provides this high quality service!

We bought a new house in Clovis that came with solar and was installed by Citadel. We decided to install a bigger solar system and Tesla battery storage. Since Citadel already installed our first system and was familiar with our roof/home, we thought we would have Citadel install the 2nd system/battery. From the sales through the rebate process, we had a great experience with them. They are very communicative and responsive to any questions/concerns. We had a few items post installation that needed follow up and I very impressed that they sent technicians usually the following day to fix the issue. Citadel also took care of the PG&E battery cash rebate process – from filing the paperwork to following up with PG&E, we were very thankful to have Citadel guide us through the process. We love our solar systems and Tesla battery storage - thank you Citadel!

So this must be the busiest time for citadel when I was getting my soar in March. Chris was very helpful getting the quote and get the soar project moving. After that I had an appointment for installation which was canceled the morning off due to lack of man power. The next appointment only two installer showed up. I got a email from the project coordinator with list of items I need to acknowledge before installation. The two installers did not have a clue. I got a call from the lead/supervisor (Jose) this guys lied about everything. This guy reminds me of car used salesman. It took them 5 working days to finish a 16 panel soar job. It’s a shame with all the 5 star reviews with no customer service.

From start to finish great job. System was sized properly. Also put on roof in best location. Crew that did install was fast and efficient. Cleaned up cleaner than when they started. Was up and running the next day when the system was programmed and hooked up. Absolutely no issues. I Recommended Citadel to my son as well as other in the community. They also spotted a small potential leak on my roof which they fixed no charge. Completely satisfied. Thanks.

Working with Citadel was a wonderful experience from the start. Gideon and Dieter got me a terrific price on the project and they came recommended to me by Terry and Kirk, my neighbors. I was not disappointed! The Installers were in and out in 2 days and Megan White, my project coordinator, was on top of the process and kept me informed the whole way. We live in the country and use a great deal of electricity (wells, landscape watering and A/C in the summer, and got tired of $700-plus utility bills in the summer. Just got service connected with PG&E and will be much less afraid to open our PG&E statements in the future. Many thanks to Dieter and all the other great employees at Citadel! Citadel roofing and solar came through once again. I must say it to particular employees and how much they impressed me.Gideon was outstanding with his knowledge and his follow up. Sometimes even calling me late into the evening to make sure that my plans were personalized and expertly designed. The other is the famous Miss Holly who insured that I was informed every step of the way that my project was on time and was moving forward. What was very impressive about Holly was even though California is moving towards NEMS 3 and her work requirements were up at least 300% she kept everything on track. Great work!!
