Northern Lights replaced all the siding on our house along with 18 windows. (They also do other things like roofs and patios, etc.) I We have nothing but glowing comments to share. Not a single criticism! Frankly, it was an astounding process. They brought in a humungous dumpster that had two potties attached. They had to remove rotten and splintered old siding before proceeding. They always arrived relatively early and left after a solid day of work. They cleaned up THOROUGHLY at the end of each day (unheard of!)! They were completely organized and there were no delays, issues, or problems of any kind. We would have thought that was impossible. The workmanship was fabulous and we never needed to question any of it. We are beyond thrilled with what they did. They have done many houses and before we signed on with them, they gave us a very long, multi-city list of places they'd done so we could check them out. If you use the internet, they keep your work file online, with computer-generated mockups of the various scenarios you considered prior to making the final decision of what work you want done, and this includes all your correspondence and documentation of your initial questions and their answers, and late it includes all billing documentation. It was therefore a snap to look up anything pertaining to your job. Mack was our Northern Lights liaison and he stayed on top of everything, as did Daniel, the rep once the job started. We are beyond thrilled with them. Posting a before and a couple of after pics below.

Northern Lights Exteriors completely redid our siding, soffits, facia boards and gutters. We are super pleased with the results. The new James Hardy siding is so much better than the old fiber board siding and will last a really long time. The crew that did the work was great. Allen and the other project managers kept us up-to-date on the schedule and progress. They did a good job of cleaning up after each day. I just wish we had done this sooner. NTL is a great company to work with!

We had a stucco demo/James Hardie siding replacement project with Northern Lights Exteriors. It seemed like a huge project to me, but Mack and the team knocked it out no problem. Communication with Mack and the office was great, pricing was very clear and fair, and the crew - led by Daniel and Monica - was extremely knowledgable and skilled and did a great job keeping the site clean daily. The project documentation and overall organization by Mack and the office team was top notch via their easy to access online portal and open lines of communication. I'd definitely recommend these guys if you want a reliable team and a job done well.

This is by far the best company to work with. I had interviewed four other companies and got their bids to re-side my house and Northern Lights was the last to be interviewed. Jeff came out and we discussed all the specs for the job to be done, and supplies to be used etc. The final thing to discuss was the price. I got blown away by the excellent pricing. From the sales to the installation, Northern Lights Exteriors were phenomenal to work with! Jeff, our sales guy, made sure everything was done to perfection and I can't say enough about the quality and efficiency of the 8-man work crew! They removed the old pressed-board siding, fascia, and soffit, installed OSB over the whole house, added the vapor barrier and installed new James Hardie siding, fascia and soffit before the weather turned. Even the inspector from the county commented on how nice a job they did! If you are looking for a reliable and cost effective solution to update your home to a fire proof/resistant material, I highly recommend Northern Lights Exteriors.

They did an outstanding job and were very responsive. You wouldn't know it was the same house. And be prepared to pay what is listed as conditional items in the contract. They are above the initial contract price. I had an additional $3200 of the $5k possible in conditional items. People drive down the street and stare at it, because it has undergone such a transformation. They did the siding, Soffit, Gutters and wrapped the carport in vinyl.

Great communication. The NLE team was upfront and transparent about the timing and cost of the project. Also have a nice on-line system where you can track the project status and be notified of updates and changes. Work was done on schedule and looks good. Had a problem with subcontractor not re-attaching solar panels quite right, but NLE followed up with that thoroughly until I was satisfied.

We love our new Simonton windows! NLE installed 14 new windows for us. They did a wonderful job. The project manager Mack did a great job working with us to select the right windows and answered all our questions quickly. Ross the window installer was very professional and careful. He even rolled out the red carpet to protect our house and cleaned up well afterward. We have another 15 or so windows that could be replaced in our house. When it's time to redo those windows we will be calling NLE for sure. Highly recommend this company for replacement windows!

Northern Lights was really great at helping us navigate our first roof replacement as homeowners. We of course had some bumps along the way, but that's to be expected with such a huge project and undertaking including solar panels and gutters, not just the roof... and the company was great about fixing things and being reachable and understanding. Jeff helped us tremendously over the course of our project. I gave them five stars because of this. There's no four and a half option haha. But definitely more than a four. Overall we were very happy with the communication and the entire process. It was nice to have a team of people that I trusted to take care of things and deal with my insurance. TLDR - do not give them your money (especially without a liquidated damages clause). It took them 2 years to finish our $200K deck and siding project, with unending issues along the way. At one point they left the job site for 6 months. This was our first major renovation and we were naive enough to sign a contract without a deadline or liquidated damages clause. They will absolutely take advantage of you without one.- Design phase: Asked for an optional pergola that would come off the roof and match the existing slope of the roof line. Design came back, no pergola. Asked where it was, radio silence for a while and then an update with a pergola just slapped in the middle of the deck and not at all what we discussed.Foundation: Missed in the plans that their proposed foundation was to sink a dozen or so 4ft metal poles for support. They go to drill them and are shocked when they hit rock. According to the PM this was completely unforeseeable and had only happened several times in the history of the company. We live on a rock ridge. There is literally exposed rock 20ft from the edge of the deck. You have to drive up and around it to access the property. I'm no engineering genius but I could have guessed that if I drilled next to a rock ridge, I would hit rocks. So we started with a several week delay while they scrambled to excavate and pour concrete foundations (which they subcontracted my elderly neighbor with a backhoe to do).Staircase 1: Not designed with enough head clearance for code. One month delay while they argue with the engineer over who should pay and then rebuild.Staircase 2: These stairs come under the eave of our roof and were also designed and built without enough head room. Their brilliant proposal? Cut off a foot of the roof to accommodate their error. I was assured by the PM they do this all the time. When asked to show examples, funnily they never materialized. When we insisted they redo the stairs properly, they left the job for 6 MONTHS while they 'figured out a plan'. Really they sent the deck subcontractor to another job.Staircase 3: The only staircase designed to code but when they framed it, we realized the old staircase it was replacing was narrower, and the new staircase would impinge on our house's main picture window. We decided to eliminate the updated staircase as we had other exits to the home. Contractor said sure thing and closed off the door that the staircase led to, never asking what was behind the door. At inspection, it was noted that the closed off door was to our bedroom and we had lost egress. This led to another 6-month delay while we figured out how to sensibly add in a window that would give us back egress and not look ad hoc. Meanwhile we were without egress in our master bedroom for well over a year (unknowingly) and had to shell out 1000s more dollars to fix the issue.Lights: Asked PM many times over 6 months for a quote for integrated lighting, never got one. Part of pattern of having to chase him down for any communication.PM tried to close out the contract without a change order for thestaircase that was removed from the scope (despite multiple reminders) or without putting in all the features that were in the plans (which he explicitly had us sign off on).The PM was often super condescending in emails, particularly when my wife was replying to the thread.There's more but this is just what I have the email receipts for.Bonus: Every 6 months or so we would receive strange, misogynistic gifts in the mail from them, addressed only to my wife (with her name misspelled), who was not the primary point of contact for the project. Things like laundry detergent pods, kitchen utensils, and books on charcuterie arrangements. So surreal and just insulting. Of course my wife (who is the primary earner in the household) needs all this homemaker crap. What we really needed was for our project to be done in a timely manner and not feel grossly taken advantage of. But hey, if I want to put together a mean charcuterie board, now I can just askmy wife.

Overall, our experience with NLE was rife with poor communication and minimal motivation to identify and resolve problems, in addition to grossly misogynistic behavior. Female homeowners beware. One of the contractors working on our house harassed our neighbor and made her feel uncomfortable going home b/c she didn't want him to know where she lived. When we informed the owner, he said that this was a serious accusation and asked if were we sure it wasn't just a misunderstanding. As far as we know, nothing was done to resolve this situation or prevent it from happening again. He also mansplained my job to me in an attempt to justify delays in our project (which took over a year longer than expected). In addition, throughout the course of our project (that again took more than twice the anticipated timeline), I (specifically the female partner) received several packages from NLE that contained "gifts" of cooking and cleaning supplies. Definitely will not be using them again and can't feel comfortable recommending them to anyone else.

It's not often I write a review, but Matt Danitz and his team at Northern Lights Exterior did an exceptional job with the exterior remodeling of my house including new siding, new attic vents, and new gutters. They kept to schedule and budget, and the quality of the work was top notch. Cleaned up the job site daily, as promised.
