I had two other solar proposals in hand before I called Empowered for a quote. One from a GJ based company and the other was from a CA cloud based company. In the end, I decided to go with EES for a number of reasons. One being, they are fairly priced, the second, they never use sub contractors for installations, and most importantly, they are locally based, so I knew if there was an issue I wouldn't be waiting, weeks or even months for assistance. The longevity of this company was also a deciding factor. I didn't want to sign up with a company that would leave my system orphaned in a few years, forcing me to scramble to find an installation crew to get my system back up and running. In October we got a proposal from Empowered to install 18 new panels and re-align six existing panels to give us a 7.1 kW grid-tie system. They estimated a mid-January installation, and with my prior experience I figured on a mid-February operation date after CO inspection and DMEA meter workDelightfully, the outstanding installers arrive 12 Dec and were done 14 Dec. CO inspected on Friday/15, and DMEA did the meter Tues/19. CO and DMEA were just great.On the day after winter solstice, the system was cranking 5.6 kW (for a nominal 7.1 system). The performance of the system, as well as everyone I met at Empowered, has been superb. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The estimate was clear and thoroughly explained regarding costs, financing, and tax benefits. Despite Empowered being extremely busy, scheduling was on time and well communicated. Wish all contractors were like Empowered Energy SystemsFrom the initial contact through the final installation of our Solar Electric (24.8 kw) System Empowered was first class! Each person we interacted with showed up on-time and was focused how to make the process work for us and for their team. Prior to the installation starting, the project manager J.J. came to our house and walked through the complete process and gained an understanding of the house and its unique challenges along with working out all the little things that would make the project go more smoothly – where to park work trailers, attic access, electrical connections, porta potty placement, etc. The crew was great to work with, communicated what was going on, and adjusted the panel placement to maximize solar production (+5%). They worked extremely hard in the hot Montrose sun. Every day they cleaned up after themselves and when they were done the area looked like it was before they arrived. We knew the next steps in the process were certification and DMEA meter replacement. We were able to turn the system on less than 3 weeks from the start of the installation. The system is functioning as originally designed. Great Job Empowered!! Have interacted with so many contractors as we work to remodel/restore our house and Empowered makes most of the others look like amateurs. We highly recommend Empowered Energy Systems for anyone considering a solar panel option.

Wow!!! We just received our first monthly electric bill and we saved a whopping $165.00 when we compared it to last year's bill. Needless to say we are very pleased, especially since the cost of our system was much less than every other solar contractor's bid for our system. The project was professionally handled from the first site visit to the final "flipping the switch". The guys at Empowered put 57 panels on my house couldn't have been more professional about it.
