We worked with Tony D. at Santoro for over two years as we planned, prepared for, and then executed a massive addition and home remodel.Tony helped us find a knowledgeable and talented architect for our project, and then they both worked together and with us (the "us" is me, my husband, and his 80-ish year old parents) to design and build a 1600+ sq ft addition to our historic 1870 1-room schoolhouse, tailoring the design to suit our needs and to fit our budget.We wanted to maintain the integrity of our unique home while also making it more functional. We also wanted an addition that would accommodate a 2nd generation. They now live in a 1,000+ space with every amenity you could want on "their side", including a full basement and 2-car garage. "Our side" expanded to have a 300 sq ft modern kitchen and a bedroom lounge which we affectionately call the library. I could go on and on about the details of the work, but let me sum it up by saying that we never felt rushed, we never felt pressured, and when it came to the most important work--foundation and structural--we were consistently pleased and confident in the quality of the work, and in the professional, expertise of the crew and our GC, Tony. We actually witnessed first-hand nearly every aspect, as they worked on our house during the height of the pandemic when we were all home. Again, the crew was professional and responsible and safe, respectful of our home and of the unique situation we all found ourselves in.The clearing of land and foundation excavation began in late May 2020 and my in-laws were living here by New Year's Day 2021. The work "officially" wrapped up in February.We did face a few quality issues with some "finishings" and cosmetic work, but that, again, was largely due to Covid and the impact it had on supply and on labor. But any time--and I do mean ANY TIME--we had an issue or a concern, we brought it to Tony's attention and he did everything he could to rectify it in a timely fashion. Tony was an incredible problem-solver and a clear, reliable communicator. He always gave us sound, honest advice, and he couldn't have been more patient and amiable to work with. The way he listened to, worked with, and built a relationship with our parents, specifically, impressed us. We consider him a friend now, and are grateful for his continued support as we've "lived" in the space for the first year.The greatest compliment we receive when people come by again for the first time is "It looks like it's always been this way!" which is exactly what we wanted. They replaced my kitchen floor and replaced some of the sheet rock in my basement due to leaks from my new refrigerator not being installed correctly from another vendor. Do not trust the Santoro Home Improvement group. They were the general contractors for a project of mine and didn't complete what they promised which was in the contract. Left my place a mess and promises after promises that they would come back and finish they came back and made it worse! They give you the best service before to get your check and when they do they don't complete! Go with somebody else, these people are scammers!
