Ron and his team did an excellent job replacing asphalt shingles on our roof and repairing the plywood where necessary. Everything lines up nicely and looks great. Nobody wants to replace their roof, but I was no longer in a position to say no. Ron came out 2 years ago and re-sealed it for way under several other quotes. This time I called with water coming in. He and his son were here in a few days, cost was fair, work was excellent! They even painted all the roof vents etc, so I didn't have white against darker roof. I'm super impressed with the job they did!! I'll definitely call if I need them again.

My farmhouse decided it wanted a new roof for its 124th birthday, it demanded at least a partial replacement. Through gritted teeth, and dread in my soul, I began the long process of procuring quotes and researching contractors. Through a family recommendation, I contacted J & S Roofing for a quote, and extremely glad I did!Ron arrived promptly and not only gave me the most reasonable price quote I had received thus far but gave me a quote for a complete metal roof. Ron proved to be considerate of my concerns, answered my endless questions, professional, courteous, and personable. He truly put my mind at ease throughout the entire process.Ron is thorough, pays great attention to details, and his pride in getting the job done right is obvious from the start. Ron and his son worked on my house through a couple of rather windy days, which amazed me since nothing flew away and everyone was safe. The job site was thoroughly cleaned of debris at the end of both days, and I am delighted with not only the roof, but the entire process! I usually don't write reviews but J&S Roofing's service was outstanding from start to finish. After a wind damage claim they started the replacement promptly and finished the entire job in 2 days. They were very professional and the owner works on the roof himself, so you know the job is done right. Using exactly the same products as his competitors he came in thousands less than the nearest bidder.

I ended up with a small leak and got concerned with the weather forecast. I called J&S Roofing and Ron reassure me he would take a look the next morning prior to the rain! I received a return phone call from them within hours and an appointment for a proposal was scheduled immediately. Just had a new roof installed and have only positive comments. Ron had to work through issues with HOA, which took several days and several people, to get this job approved and he handled this very professionally. My roof was done in less than a day, including everything cleaned up. As busy as he was, he still took the time to explain a couple things and answer questions. After a severe wind storm, we were in need of a roofer to replace some shingles on our roof. J & S Roofing responded promptly to our call and were able to do the repair within just a few days, despite their heavy workload repairing many other homeowner's roofs. After a few days of heavy rain, I noticed a small water leak on my daughters ceiling. It was clear it was coming from the vent pipe on my roof, which is a fairly small job. I contacted several companies who stated they would not come out because it was too small of a job or they were just too busy. Ron from JS Roofing Came out, was on time, was very professional, and very friendly. He jumped on the roof And replace the vent pipe gasket and as he was coming down noticed that the ridge on my garage roof was cracked from the previous owner stepping on it. He also fix that issue. When I asked him how much I owed him, he refused payment and told him that it was on the house, and simply asked that when it came time for additional repair or replacement to please call them first. Based on their responsiveness to my call they had already earned my business for the foreseeable future, but with their act of kindness and generosity they have earned it forever. Had a roof put on today by J & S Roofing. Awesome experience. They were timely and got the job completed in a day. It was so hot and our job wasn't the easiest with the heat today but they managed to get it done and cleaned up well. They really impressed us and our roof looks perfect. Ron came out, color and style matched my shingles, and had the job finished before our next rain. I was equally happy to see his son helping him out, in a time where most kids are trapped behind a screen of some sort Ron is teaching his a trade. I am posting this review as a former builder & contractor of both residential & commercial construction projects. Our current home was in need of a new roof, but due to this thing call “old age” I was forced to search for a roofer to complete the task at hand. I had met Ron Ulak, owner of J&S Roofing, a number of months ago when he completed a PERFECT repair on a neighbor’s roof that had leaked for many years. When Ron came to examine my existing roof, he immediately climbed up onto the roof and walked every section of the 10/12 pitched roof himself. Our roof has dormers, roof windows, multiple hips, valleys, & ridges, & its huge physical size alone is something out of the ordinary. Ron identified issues that I personally had never even noticed, corrected some quick minor issues, and told me he would provide a written estimate via email in short order. As promised, within a day’s time, I received Ron’s email/estimate. Since we currently had no major leaks and winter weather was rapidly approaching I opted to wait until Spring to have the roof replacement completed.During the winter months I had contacted 8 other roofers, some whom quoted prices that were utterly ridiculous and others just simply never even showed up to provide an estimate. Our home has a roof with multiple valleys and Ron was the ONLY roofing contractor who knew how to weave a valley and what that entailed. Of all the roofing contractors that I had contacted, Ron was the ONLY roofer who actually got on the roof to examine its current condition prior to providing an estimate. Ron and his crew completed the task in record time with the utmost attention to detail. The dumpster for trash & new roofing materials were strategically placed to insure there was no damage to our driveway surface. Everything was covered in tarps prior to any shingle removal protecting siding, windows, plants, exterior lighting, HVAC units, Irrigation heads, & even trash cans! As cleanup was being completed on the ground the existing roof sheathing was thoroughly inspected and the new roofing underlayment materials were installed. By the end of the 1st day approximately 80% of the new roof was completely installed with a smaller crew arriving the second day to wrap things up.As I had mentioned previously, I am former contractor & one who has actually installed roofs. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and the work ethic of Ron & his crew. Prior to leaving each day the yard and flower beds were purged of any roofing debris & magnets were used repeatedly to recover nails that might have fallen to the ground. The finished product is breathtaking to say the least. Unexpectedly, Ron returned a week after completing the job to see if I had any issues that needed to be address. I noticed & pointed out one small piece of flashing sticking up at which point Ron immediately pulled out a ladder from the back of his truck, climbed up this ridiculous 10/12 pitch roof, & added 1 nail to address the issue – this guy is absolutely amazing, considerate, and through to say the least! His attention to detail is just something that even I have seldom seen over my career.Just to clarify, no I am not related to Ron Ulak or any member of his family and I am not being paid to write this review. If I ever need any future roofing work done I doubt I will ever again waste my time getting quotes/estimates from other roofing contractors as long as J&S Roofing is in business. Thank you Ron for an exemplary job on our home!

So exactly 1 year &4 months ago we had a leak in the roof of one of the rentals we have. We had several roofing contractors come out and give estimates to fix it- J & S Roofing came in a little higher than most but chose to go with him because he “was going to fix it right” and we didn’t want it to mess up the drywall on the inside.-it started leaking again about a month ago and we had another construction crew replace the shingles and what they uncovered was ridiculous.The J&S guy literally threw a piece of plywood on top of the leak and added a bunch of extra shingles... so for future reference DO NOT USE J&S Roofing out of Dover- this is beyond shabby work and the amount we paid could have put on a whole new roof this section.We now have to re-do drywall in a bathroom that was supposedly “fixed”.I wish I could add pictures to this post, you would not believe it
