Literally the back porch of an antique store. I give this spot an extra star for their vegan options.Vegan wrapsVegan sandwichesVegan SoupsBut they have more than just vegan food, there is there are salads, sandwiches, wraps and even some dessert options. This spot gets busy at lunch and there are not enough tables to fit everyone, but give it time and you will find a spot either inside or on the outside (back porch) area. It is a dog friendly foot, so bring your pet with you, everyone else seems to have taken them up on it.Service was so friendly, it was like a family gathering.But you want to know about the food:Potato salad - as good or better than my mother’s version and i loved hers.Vegan Chili - full of potatoes, corn, tomatoes and black beans, this was my FAVORITE dish.Mozzarella Wrap - it sounded good, but was just so-so and was horribly messy.Side salad - fresh, good and the dressing was amazing.Cuban Sandwich - another solid choice that was tasty and filling.Reuben - ooh, surprisingly good.Gyro - another really great dish, my son devoured this one.Really good lunch spot, but it did take some time, both waiting in line and to get our food.

What a delightful little spot! We were traveling with a Great Dane so the dog friendly deck was perfect! The owner greeted us on the deck with menus and a dog biscuit. There was a recently filled water bowl in the deck as well. The food was delish! We were going to order a grilled cheese sandwich for the pup but they would not hear of it and promptly brought out a bowl of cut up chicken breast and cheese! The owner held the bowl for my Dane while he ate. 💗

We came here for spring break and had our Labrador. They have a porch where you can bring your dog. They welcomed us with menus and had a bowl of water with a treat. We felt very welcomed. The food was delicious 😋 Can't wait to come back!

We went there this afternoon right before they closed. We had a very wonderful experience. The three of us got their chicken salad on gluten free bread and 2 of us got potato salad and one of us got slaw. All of it was very good. The service was AMAZING! This is a place I highly recommend. I personally can be very picky especially with chicken salad, potato salad and slaw lol 😅. They let me try them before I got them bc I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like it, I very much did and we will certainly be going back!Dietary restrictions: We eat mostly gluten and dairy free for personal reasons and they did have a great variety of options with those restrictions. Their gluten free bread was actually very good. They obviously don’t make it themselves, understandably. But, you can tell that they pride themselves in finding a good gluten free option that tastes good. they also had a vegetarian section which I think is great, even tho we aren’t vegetarian.

We have been to the Backporch Bistro several times, most recently 3/3/2024, when my parents came down for a visit. We were walking around Ellijay and wanted something small to hold us over till supper. I told them the rueben was fantastic, so that's what they ordered. They really enjoyed the food, the owners, and the laid-back atmosphere of the back porch.If you're in or around Ellijay and are hungry for a great sandwich, this is your place!!!

Cozy spot with creative bites in a cute downtown district. Super sweet tea is fabulous! I enjoyed the apple butter autumn apple ham panini with an edamame salad. Hubby enjoyed their Ruben toasted rye sandwich. It made our tummies very happy and then we enjoyed a walk around the little downtown district! Please come by this little place - it is totally worth the money and time, and may lighten your spirit as well!

Awesome bang for your buck sandwich spot in the heart of Ellijay. I had the Cuban, one of the most popular, and it was better than one of my favorite Cuban spots in Atlanta. The bread was dense enough to keep everything in and still light for a lunch sandwich. The potato salad on the side was also really good

Lil hidden gem in the heart of Ellijay great prices for the amount of food you get tasty great quality food I got the gyro it was delicious the cowboy caviar is great the apple cake is moist and delicious I drank the sweet tea just the exact amount of sweetness refreshing and delicious very friendly owners if you come to Ellijay stop by they're across the play house in that parking lot or access through the antique shop

I had the Cuban sandwich with a side of the ape slaw and the "famous" apple cake. It did not disappoint, what a meal. The Bistro was delightful and the owners are amazing and funny and down to earth. Thank you!

A friendly little sandwich shop in the back of the building. You can enter through the store in the front or around back where there is a nice deck for outside eating. They have a large selections of sandwiches, including gluten free bread and wraps, soups, chips, etc. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out fast even when their busy. Worth the try for sure.Parking: Plenty of parking in the back of the building where the Back Porch entry is.

Stopped in a for a early lunch and got to talk to the owner a bit, which was quite amusing. Nice guy. We would have loved to be out om the patio, but it was a bit too warm today. We enjoyed our sandwiches...chicken panini and chicken salad. A little mayonnaise-y, but light on the celery. 😀 Good variety on the menu with wraps and salads as well. No frills, but I don't any. Although I now realize I forgot to take pics of some of the cute artwork on the walls. Next time!

This was a pleasant surprise. Definitely, a great place to go for a quick bite to eat! Even being short-staffed (per them), the food was on point and the service was amazing. They have both inside and outside sitting areas depending on your preference - and weather of course. They have great sandwich, wrap, and salad options and the food tasty fanastic! If you are looking for a place to have a quick bite - definitely worth the visit!

I had a very pleasant experience visiting the Back Porch Bistro. I was visiting the town alone and wondered where I should go grab some lunch. I was referred by a friend to come here and I am glad I did. The Cuban sandwich is very delicious and so was the macaroni salad. The people in the kitchen, and at the register were very welcoming and nice. I highly recommend stopping by to elevate your Elijay experience. 😊 P.S. thanks for the cheesecake, best on the planet.

Quaint little sandwich shop with some quick bite options. This is not only the best place for a bite in old downtown, but arguably one of the better sandwich shops I have been to. I had a turkey panini on this visit. It was quite delicious. They also have some homemade pickles that are good too.

Perfect stop when passing through the mountains. We were driving around to see the pretty trees and wanted a light lunch and this bistro was just right. Nice and simple meals, sandwiches and chips, but they're homemade and very yummy. There's eating inside and outside and it's perfectly located in a adorable old downtown area.

This place is so cute. Hidden away in the back of a store on the square. I have a gluten allergy and it’s not always easy to find good options. Not only did I get a great grilled sandwich, the owner showed me the packaging of the gluten free bread and told me where to find it. While visiting Ellijay we ate at the Back Porch Bistro twice and both times it was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The back porch is dog friendly which was convenient. The cowboy caviar is a unique side option, but it is delicious as well as their coleslaw. Four of us ate there and all of our sandwiches were amazing and fresh. Get there early though, because they are so popular they do run out of food. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: They offered an amazing veggie wrap.Parking: They have street parking on the square and a parking lot right off of their back porch.

Pete & Tami are an amazing duo! We love their Bistro and the variety of wonderful, homemade items they have on their menu! Last Saturday they made 31 absolutely delicious box lunches for our car club. We ordered take out ahead of time and every order was made to perfection! Everyone was amazed at the choices that were offered and the combination of toppings, condiments & sides made for some really tough choices. We highly recommend this gem in the heart of Ellijay! Pete, Tami & their staff aim high to please their customers and the best compliment we can give them is to promise we will be back!!

Terrific Food!My family and I went there for a terrific lunch. Friendly staff and the veggie wrap I got was outstanding. I don't know what a tomato chutney is but, it's delicious.It's definitely worth a trip.

An amazing quaint bistro with delicious homemade food and a incredibly friendly staff. The apple slaw and cuban sandwich are worth the trip alone, then throw in a homemade cookie and your lunch is perfect.
