DBR has done a lot of work on our house. Very personable and reliable. I absolutely love their work and have gotten very close with all the workers. We absolutely love everything they have done and we are not finished. We had a deck, a wall taken down and floors redone. Loved that then decided to get our kitchen redone and I love it. We are also getting our garage redone in the summer.I would recommend DBR for all your home improvements!

I worked with DBR recently to install new floors & baseboards after a pipe burst in my condo. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I've had work done by other contractors in the past & did not realize what 'great service' was until working with DBR. Most contractors want to leave the space the same as when they arrived, but DBR truly went above & beyond to leave my home better than when they started. They were extremely patient with my scheduling, idea changes, additional work, etc. They also without being asked jumped in to help with a few small other items in my home that they saw needed a quick fix (ie: fill a quick hole in the wall from a nail, re-caulk some molding in my hallway). All of the contractors sent to my home were great; they were extremely friendly, professional, answered my millions of questions & made me feel at ease every step of the way (it can be awkward to have strangers in your home all day! If anything, I missed my 'friends' once they finished their work.) They are true consultants in the business & not only did the work they were assigned, but acted as consultants, helping me make some decisions, while also giving me the freedom & support to be creative along the way. These guys are true professionals. I'm looking forward to my next opportunity to work with DBR again.

DBR Home Builders was amazing to work with from the beginning. James came in for a free estimate on a few different projects and was very detailed and diligent on rough costs, materials, timing, process, etc. He was very punctual with relaying information and made sure we got the project completed in the time we requests. Oscar and team came in and did an excellent job on our bathroom and fireplace. He made sure we liked our selections and went above and beyond to make sure it was exactly as we wanted. I would highly recommend DBR and we will absolutely use them again for future home projects!!

DBR Construction, Mr. Ivo Alexander the owner and his team were a very professional and responsive construction company. They took on the daunting task of gut rehabilitating our condominium in the heart of Chicago’s Astor District. The building is older, and Ivo the owner identified several cost effective ways to improve the insulation, new technologies in HVAC solutions, sound dampening, hardwood flooring, metal work, tile, worked with subcontractors to create beautiful finishes, and worked with the HOA to keep things relatively quiet for our neighbors. The team consisted of Adrian, Arturo, Eric, Ben, Henry, Carlos, and Oscar. All had their lanes and worked beautifully both independently and as a team when necessary. DBR will be our go-to firm for future buildouts or new purchases in the future for any construction.

My wife and I hired Ivo and Team to help us restart finishing a basement. We had previously hired a separate contractor in March and had to fire him half way through due to terrible work and prolonged timelines. We found DBR Builders who worked with us to demolish the previous work and start fresh. 5 weeks total is all it took for them to demolish the old work and completely finish our basement. Electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and building a bar area. The finished product was better than we could have imagined and now we're slowly finding decorations to make it feel like a true "man-cave". We were very impressed with Ivo, his team/crew, and their professionalism and timeliness. I tried my best to not watch over the project too much (considering the disaster of a job my previous contractor did), but even when I had questions or concerns, Ivo and team were very helpful in answering my questions and making sure I felt comfortable with their plan of action.The only small hiccup we had was when it came to our choice in paint. We had specified to DBR the paint color and brand that we wanted to use on our walls, but not the specific finish. We assumed that we would use at least satin paint, especially in the bar area where we expect high traffic, spilled drinks, etc. It wasn't until all the paint was up and we saw some chips/scratches that we realized it was flat paint. When asking DBR if there was anything we could do like repaint it with a more durable finish, they asked for a rather significant upcharge. They did however make sure all imperfections in the paint were touched up before officially being done with the project, which I greatly appreciated.I would consider that hiccup a 50/50 responsibility. We should have clarified, and they should have asked. But either way, I understand they're a business and are not working for free. Just was surprised they asked for as much as they did. Make sure to be as clear as possible in this area what you're looking for. Nevertheless, if that's the worst hiccup we had, we came out pretty good.All-in-All, we are very pleased with our finished product and are very thankful for DBR. Would highly recommend to someone needing a job well done by professionals! 9.5/10!

I had my bathroom in my home remodeled by DBR and I couldn't be happier! Ivo and crew were so incredibly nice and great to work with. They always asked for my input and appreciated my decisions on every single detail. Not only was the entire crew friendly but they were efficient and flexible with my difficult schedule. We hired Ivo and team to do a gut renovation for the master bedroom in our new place. I hesitate to leave a good review because I'm worried they'll be too busy in the future to do all the other projects we have on our list!In a city full of contractors that don't call you back or mysteriously disappear in the middle of a project, DBR is a breath of fresh air. Ivo checked in every day, most times in person, and he and his team treated our home as if it was their own. They gave great advice where we needed to improve the quality of our intended approach and added nice finishing touches that we hadn't thought of. This will sound cheesy but we kind of miss having the crew around!I will be hiring DBR for all future projects at our home and have already made several referrals.

DBR really stands for Doing Business wRong. Very very unprofessional. Consistent and good quality customer service IS NOT IMPORTANT TO DBR HOME BUILDERS. They are liars especially management. They came to my home late for the appointment and then tried to pressure me into saying yes to a contract. When I asked for time to think about it they decided not to give me the free estimate and wanted to charge for the quote.DBR if you read this keep on trying to hide your bad reviews....it's going to catch up with you. Best believe I have time and there's a ton of sites to post my poor experience with you on...if nothing else let's help waste your time like you wasted mine by making you work for 1min or more to delete or respond with one of your unprofessional comments.

The entire duration of the project, it felt like we were an afterthought. Communication, both with their own workers and with us as customers, was abysmal. There were way too many prolonged periods of radio silence despite attempts to reach out for information, and way too many times in which we were not listened to, especially in regards to scheduling anything. At one point, someone showed up late in the evening to deliver additional materials and haul away the old deck scraps. This wouldn't have been a problem had I known they were coming, but this was not communicated. Instead, they just showed up in the alley and hopped the fence, and I had to confront them to find out who they were.It ultimately took over three months to complete a project that we were told would take two weeks to complete upon signing the contract. Several contractual items were forgotten about during construction and needed to be addressed after the fact. It turns out these forgotten items were never communicated to the workers in the first place, and they wound up having to return on a weekend once it was acknowledged that these items were missed. Even after that, there was still minor electrical work that needed to be completed, and when the electrician came out, I learned that the workers had severed the electrical that was previously there, leaving a hazard under the deck for weeks, unbeknownst to us, which led to more work for the electrician as well.While the finished product wound up being quite nice in the end, based on this experience, I would not seek additional services from DBR, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

DBR Builders and Ivo and his team are AMAZING. Truly and honestly a great experience and they transformed our gut rehab apartment “forever home” (almost 3,000 sq ft) into a beautiful masterpiece. My husband and I designed it, and Ivo and his team were 110% on top (despite delays due to HOA rules, etc.). And ANYTHING we needed was done immediately. Specifically, Adrian and Ben and Arturo - the dream team - they were here at any/all times we needed. Honestly, after working with Ivo and Adrian for almost 2 years (we built our home during the worst supply chain crisis ever, so everything took forever, plus dealing with our building HOA, it took a while) - but after all of this time, my kids love them and so did our whole family, that we actually refer to them as “family”!!! (I call Ivo and Adrian my brothers).They are top notch. I would highly HIGHLY recommend DBR Builders for any job! Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart! You truly are the best. I have a very bright and over the top sense of home decor style, and I'm a perfectionist. So I was very worried about hiring a team because in my mind I had big, bright dreams and I was not sure anyone would be able to first understand my vision and second execute it with as much attention to detail as I have. DBR met and exceeded my expectations. I had two projects, the larger bedroom project which was removing a load bearing wall and the old trim, repairing and refinishing my hardwood floor, installing chair rail, new base/trim and crown molding, and putting up wallpaper. I was particularly worried about my very detailed wallpaper because they were super expensive and I would have noticed any mistakes, but it came out perfect! The second smaller project was my bathroom where they also hung wallpaper and replaced all my wall accessories. All the guys that worked on my projects were very nice. When I explained my vision they got it and worked hard to do everything how I wanted it, even if I'm sure it was a bit much. I've heard horror stories where contractors quote you 2 weeks and the projects take months, especially since we were living in my basement but they came on time every day and finished it in exactly two weeks as they projected. I hope to work with them again.

Truly a great company and dedicated to the project to the end. I had a great deck put in to replace my wooden deck. After 20yrs of staining and replacing boards. It was time to replace my desk! I worked with DBR and we did such. Unfortunately, after we replaced the deck, my vinyl siding of my house was not so attractive. DBR fixed the issues and everything looks great as ever. Thanks for making everything right.

Living in Chicago, they helped us with a complex deck project, demolishing the old structure and building up new composite decking with additional features. When an ice dam fell off our roof last March and broke several sections of our composite railing, DBR worked with us using photos and email to provide a quotation, scheduling, and communication.When DBR arrived on-site to repair the broken sections, they realized the parts ordered would not meet the requirements of the deck. They researched other suppliers, found a product that met our needs, and completed the work. Very professional, honest, and trustworthy.
