The whole team at Rooftopia was fantastic to work with- they came out for an initial consultation in which we had a rough idea of what we wanted to accomplish, but wanted input from experts to finalize the design and project. Jenn and Bobbie were always responsive, gave us several mock-ups that we provided feedback on, and then we finalized the design plans. They completed the work in just a couple days and it was better than we even imagined. Would highly recommend anyone who is looking for outdoor garden/pergola/kitchen design work

I can't rave enough about Rooftopia and the work that they've done to my front and backyard as well as my rooftop. All I had on the roof was Trex when we bought our house, and the Rooftopia team helped design (read: essentially designed the entire project for me). On the roof they built a custom made pergola, planters, a kitchen island and more! They showed up timely, worked in the heat of the summer (I felt terrible), was respectful of my house and my neighbors. I even got a comment in my neighborhood FB group about how polite and friendly they were!For my front yard, all I had was grass. They designed a beautiful landscape, with edible berries and made it look so much more colorful and cleaner.They were extremely responsive, upfront with all costs and overall fantastic to work with. I completely trusted their decisions and materials and loved their designs. I essentially give them free reign of all my planters now. I wish I could attach more pictures - these ones are from a 4th of July party I had, which they were working overtime to try to be done in time! They truly did fantastic work, I couldn't recommend them enough and I love supporting a minority-owned business. I look forward to having them back to help with more projects!

Rooftopia did an amazing job on our garage rooftop deck remodel. They took our ideas/priorities and came up with a fabulous design that maximizes the space, is functional and beautiful. We love our new custom pergola with unique detailed ironwork, the built in heaters, fire table, dining and bar areas. The quality of the craftsmanship, materials and design is amazing. They have a real attention to detail and are customer service oriented. They kept us updated frequently throughout the project. All of the people at Rooftopia - the owners, project manager, welders and other workers were professional and respectful of the space & neighbors. Jenn and her team are top notch, responsive, creative, incredibly flexible and a joy to work with. Everything is custom and tailored to you, they aren't afraid to experiment, take inspiration or adapt their big scale builds to smaller scale or paced out projects. All of her team members were awesome, professional and respectful of our space. They finished the project on time, on budget and delivered high quality and unique final pergola construction. We get so much more use out of our deck now with the new pergola. With their team you're always going to get a personal, stylistic match, but our favorite part about the design was how they took inspiration from our love of Portuguese and Morrocan tiles and created custom metal screens to our pergola. We recommend them without hesitation for any of your urban landscaping projects.

Rooftopia built and installed a new awning, balcony rail, and gate door for us and we could not be more happy. They did an amazing job. We have a side patio in our duplex down condo in Uptown on the North Side of Chicago. When we purchased our property, the patio was a dated-looked exposed aggregate nightmare with a drainage problem. When we began looking for companies to remove the concrete and re-design the space, we contacted nearly 20 companies. We ended up choosing Rooftopia because of their sterling reputation and the ease of communication, as well as their innovative ideas and respect for our budget limits.I literally cannot praise this company enough. They completed the project on time, on budget and kept us consistently updated the entire time. They pay great attention to detail and dealt very well with some last minute changes in the plan and complications.If you are having an urban landscape or patio completed, don't let the name Rooftopia make you think that they just do rooftops. They did a better job with our outdoor patio space than I could imagine and better than what we would have gotten with a typical landscaping company. Our patio is literally the envy of all of our friends and people keep telling us it looks like something out of an HGTV television program. The difference between what it was before and what it is now is remarkable.On top of everything else, they are very honest and ethical people and truly want to do a good job. I could tell that they actually wanted us to be happy with our space and wanted us to have exactly what we wanted. They were very flexible and very, very easy to work with.I would recommend this company to anyone. They are AMAZING.

Amazing job. Totally worth the cost.The design is fantastic, the team was professional, the attention to detail is great and everything was done on time. But I want to mention something else.The way they engineered this is incredible. They actually built the entire pergola in a way didn't touch the membrane of the roof. It connects to the wall (through bolts and pressure plates) so that I have 0% concern about water. It's amazing.I did a rooftop project once with another company. It was a horrible experience and way more expensive than projected. But worst of all, it leaked. I lived in fear after that I'd see water stains on the ceiling. I have none of that fear with the work that Rooftopia did.They were the highest bid and the right choice. If you talk to them, listen carefully to their advice and take their recommendations. The expense is totally worth it.I love my rooftop. My whole family does. Thank you, Rooftopia!

Jen and Marcin, and their amazing crew, completed a very challenging balcony deck for me. It was challenging from a political and engineering perspective.I have a townhome with a balcony deck that has been sitting unused for 5 years, because of the complicated process of getting an HOA approval.I went through numerous contractors but they were all immediately discouraged by the HOA process.I was also looking specifically for contractors that can use pedestals for the flooring, in order to preserve the roof membrane.Jenn and Marcin accepted the project without a single doubt and were very enthusiastic in helping me with the challenge.They had to work with the HOA engineer and my architect in order to get the HOA and city permit approval.Their talent doesn't stop with maneuvering challenging political roads, but they are also incredibly creative thinkers and problem solvers!The city required the existing balcony parapet wall to be raised in order to meet current code, and the HOA required that no penetrations be made to the existing structure.Rooftopia's metal working crew is top talent! They were able to engineer a metal railing that didn't require securing to the existing parapet wall and it looks absolutely stunning.The pedestal system and pavers they recommended are both incredibly practical and beautiful.It is rare to see so many different talented people in such a small company, but Rooftopia is the one place that gets really close to being a true utopia.
