Evanston Masonry did a terrific job tuck-pointing the basement of our house, which is 127 years old! Eric managed our project and the team of workmen. Eric and the team were punctual, polite, and attentive to details important to us.The workmen left a clean work space at the end of each day, protected other areas of the house from dust and debris, and notified us as they began and ended each day. We are exceedingly happy with the quality of the workmanship and highly recommend Evanston Masonry!!

Eric came out with his masonry foreman to inspect my home. I had a couple of issues with my tuckpointing that needed to be addressed . To my pleasure I was not upsold and was informed that the condition did not warrant a repair.They were very knowledgeable and it was great to not be steered into having work done that wasn’t necessary .I highly recommend them.

Eric and his team were amazing throughout the project. Eric was always on top of the communications so I never had to wonder what was next. The crew were the best in that this was an interior brick job. I was super concerned about dust and mess but every day, at the end, the crew cleaned up any dust and I never had any issues with cleanliness. I highly recommend them for any masonry project.

Gary and his whole crew are great and were a pleasure to work with. The brick stairs to the front door of my house were starting to crumble and need to be rebuilt. I cannot say enough positive about the Evanston Masonry team. They were great from first contact to the end of the project. They rebuilt or front porch balustrade, identifying right from the start the problems with the original construction and outlined a plan for rebuilding it correctly. They showed up on time and couldn't have been better, communicating with me at each step along the process. They worked with my electrician on installation of new conduit and lighting like they were friends. The process was seamless, and the resulting rebuild was beautiful and flawless. Evanston Masonry rebuilt our chimney and did some spot tuck pointing for us. When I had questions about the scope of work they came out a second time after the initial visit to look at the house and answer my questions. They really put an effort into finding just the right brick for the chimney, and the work is impeccable. It's hard to tell where the tuckpointing was even done! Fair price too. Eric was very communicative throughout the process.

Evanston Masonry was worth every penny. We needed to replace the limestone step leading up to our house, tuckpoint our brickwork, and seal around the perimeter of our house. Initially, I went with the lowest-cost contractor I could find, and they did a terrible job: They just threw a bunch of cement in random places and called it a day. Thank heavens I found Evanston Masonry. Not only did they do a great job addressing our initial needs, but they even powerwashed and cleaned up the mess left by the first contractor. I wish I had just gone with Evanston Masonry from the start.

I am in the midst of turning a 1940s house chock full of charm and detail into a house ready to take on the 2040s. I actually hired a very good home inspector (Reese Hamilton - Cardinal Home Inspection Services - Evanston) to write a report (actually more of a handbook with photos) of what needed to be done. First things first, secure the perimeter! Basement. Attic. Masonry. What I deeply appreciate about Eric & team is that they're right up front not only about what's needed, but also what's not. That's rare. I expect to have a long relationship with Evanston Masonry over the next several years as Project: House of the Future unfolds...

Eric and the team of masons did a great job on my 110 year old Evanston landmark home. They were professional and always took the time to explain what they recommended doing. We needed to get the work done before weather turned cooler. They did a fantastic job matching brick and cleaning up the existing limestone plinth. I checked their work later with a level and they did what they were supposed to do by moving water away from the structure. During the construction, they had three guys working constantly over several days to optimize their time and limit the time we had an opening to the outside. They also made certain water did not get into the living space. Eric came back after the work was performed and made certain we were satisfied. I have other projects that could use their services but the team gave me honest recommendations on what needed to be done most urgently. I appreciate that! I have hired masons before but Evanston Masonry work seemed superior to the others I have worked with.
