We have been in our home for a little over a year and are very pleased with it. Kerstiens worked hard to meet our deadlines at a time in the market when supplies were tight and they had a multitude of homes going up to assist people in capturing a very interest rate friendly market. They arrived on budget during a time when materials jumped weekly. The house is very energy efficient. Their personal were all very professional and the vendors that they work with were top notch. Overall our experience was very positive and I would not have any reservations working with them on any future projects.

We are very pleased with our home. From the conventional framework 16” on center, dry pack insulation,foam sprayed box sills. Our house is very energy efficient. All employees and vendors and sub contractors did exceptional work on all processes. From design to implementing was great experience. We have used KHD for our personal home and also several investment rental properties. The process from start to finish is seamless and timely. The office staff, architect, general contractor, Todd, were all prompt and professional. The construction crews were efficient and also very personable! We enjoyed working with their vendors as well. They left all decisions to us, but offered support and tips along the way. The icing on the cake was moving in to our custom home after their cleaning crews had ALL dust cleaned with a welcome basket full of goodies. You won’t be disappointed working with Kerstiens!

Todd, Bart and Ruger have always been straight talkers and have provided me with quality products over the years. Whether it was building a new home (They have built two for me. Latest was in 2023), Building a stand alone garage/pool house of pouring a larger patio deck, they have done the work on time and on budget. They have separate crews that specialize in certain areas of the construction process. Each of these teams are highly skilled and able to finish their portion of the job very quickly and at a high quality level. They also use local companies for their trades work, appliances, and fixtures. Their support people in the office do a great job of keeping the customer notified when necessary. I highly recommend this family owned company.

I bought a spec home. The floor plan is well designed and feels private with the living room, kitchen and master bedroom on the back side of the house. The vaulted ceiling in the living room makes it feel larger. The house feels solid and is well insulated. I like the contrasting colors in the kitchen with dark cabinets and light colored island.

I am currently in my 6th Kersteins built home. Kersteins Homes & Design provides an easy alternative to construction loans. With a set contract in hand, you know exactly what you are getting and at the price agreed upon.Selecting the finishings is also an easy process as you have local vendors that work with you to design exactly what you want. The 2 year warranty is also a great benefit and if any problems arise their team and vendors are quick to respond.

We love our Villa/Condo! The location and privacy that we have is priceless! It is easy and inexpensive to live here. There are no steps and completely one level. The design is great! Feels very large for a 1266 sq ft area. We love that there is plenty of space for occasional guests with extra bedrooms and bathrooms. This quadplex allows for much privacy with garages separating the units. We like having the HOA for the rules and regulations. We also like that our homeowners policy is very inexpensive due to HOA. It is such a convenient place to leave on vacation etc. as you can walk out and lock your door and not worry as the grass stays moved, snow is removed, trash is taken off. We love it!

How does this sound?When we relocated to Jasper Indiana the real estate inventory was very low and we were unable to find a home to purchase. We were pleasantly surprised after discussing building with Todd that we could lock into a contract price and did not have to get a construction loan. I cannot believe the poor quality of these homes! Cheap doors that rot out. No sill pan or sill barrier installed. Door jamb rotted out all the way through the subfloor. Here came the termites. House was not pre treated for termites when we thought it was. Stick rafters which is now causing the roof to sag in different areas. No rebar installed in concrete driveway. Two major cracks developed within a year! Cheap noisy garage door, even when it was brand new. Walls built on 23 inch center's! White very cheap insulation in the attic! Nails all through the subfloor that missed the floor joust. Now the floors are squeaking terribly! Very, very cheap linoleum! I have seen better in single wide trailers! Attic vent motor burned up after 2 years of use! I would not recommend this builder to anyone!
