Hands down one of the best mechanic shop I've worked with. My son had my car and broke down. We had him towed here and Candice treated my son and friends as if they were her own. They got our car in and gave an honest and thorough inspection, promptly got parts in and repairs done. With the back and forth calls and texts, I felt heard, understood, valued and cared for. They even checked in to make sure my son and friends made it home ok while my car had to lag behind. Highly recommend this family owned shop. I am only disappointed that I live too far from them to make them our lifelong car care crew and friends! Broke down on the way back to Colorado from St. Louis. Thank god I broke down in wakeeny and made it to TJ’s. The service and professionalism and over all genuine friendly people there took care of me like I was part of the family. Gave me a loner car and had me back on the road in a couple hours. Old 40 auto care was great to deal with. Their customer service was top notch and they were honest and thorough in their explanations of services needed for our vehicle. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic in a lot of places but that was not the case with Old 40 auto care. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of vehicle repairs and maintenance.

On the way to Denver our car began to have concerning symptoms. Candace and Jesse at Old 40 returned our call immediately and agreed to look at the car. From then on they went above and beyond to get us back on the road. It was before a holiday weekend so first they made a complete assessment as quickly as possible. Candace then spent time tracking down parts to assure Jesse could do the work before the long weekend. Candace helped us find a place to stay overnight and let us use their loaner car so we could get food and get to the hotel. In the morning she updated us on the status so we could make the best plans. Jesse quickly completed the repairs and we were back on the road in a little over 24 hours. Throughout the whole experience Candace and Jesse treated us like family. We were in the process of moving so stress was already high!!! I wish I could give them 10 stars. We broke down on an 11 hour road trip, over memorial weekend. They got us in immediately and gave us a loaner vehicle to use while we waited. They were able to fix our car for UNDER the quoted price. They were quick, thorough, and fair.They were some of the kindest people I have ever encountered. They went out of their way to relieve our stress, and helped us get home safely. On a 13-hour drive from Denver to St. Louis, our family car was destroyed by mud trying to visit Castle Rock. After digging ourselves out, we couldn’t get the car to drive over 35mph without shaking. So we found a hotel, and basically sought out the first shop to open in the morning. It happened to TJ’s and we couldn’t have been happier. They were so prompt, kind, and honest. I easily could have been taken for much pricer repairs, but they took a look at the car and cleaned us up for less than $40. Simply mud pushing the tires in the wheel well, when I thought I needed parts and an alignment. Just amazing. We were back on the road by 9am. Truly an amazing shop with honest people. Recommend 100x over.

My girlfriend and I were traveling cross country in our van when we broke down 1400 miles from home. The crew at TJ’s let us know the problem (our transmission was toast) and allowed us to borrow a vehicle to commute around town for two whole days while we waited for a car hauler to take our van back home. I have never encountered people as friendly as the team here, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making sure we got home safe. If you ever find yourself needing repair work or even a friend near Wakeeney Kansas, these are the people to go to hands down. Thanks again guys!

My husband Bret and I were traveling through Kansas when we blew a tire on our Jeep. It was being towed by our motor coach. We called ahead and talked to Candace, who immediately began sending us pictures of comparable tires, and made sure our order got in before the cutoff time. When he arrived the next morning, they inspected all the other tires, and concluded that there wasn’t any defect to our new tires. They could have sold us 4 new tires, totaling over $1000, but instead, sent us to another tire dealer down the road to get the one spare we needed, so we didn’t have to wait another 6 hours for their delivery. Terry the owner was very nice, as well as everyone else who worked there. Candice’s husband was the technician, and he was great! Saved our trip our west! Thanks again!

In the middle of a Journey from Colorado Springs to Tulsa, OK I had some bad luck with my Volkswagen; later founding out that my rear differential had suffered a catastrophic failure. This rendered my vehicle capable of doing nothing more than slowly limping off the highway. Luckily i was a mile away from the Wakeeney, KS exit and happened to stop into TJ's. Right away the staff there was helpful and honest in determining that i would need the repair to be done by a Volkswagen dealership. Unfortunately, the nearest one was over 200 miles away...luckily for me, the staff at TJ's spent the next hour helping me find someone who could tow my vehicle. The managed to find a personal friend of theirs who was willing to tow my vehicle all the way to Tulsa for an absolute bargain of a price. In the mean time they were kind enough to let me use one of their vehicles so that I could get some dinner. Ultimately, I cannot give enough appreciation for the generosity and helpfulness of the staff at TJ's!

Traveling from AZ to MN, my truck wouldnt start. It was that darn alternator. These guys took me right in and moved as quick as possible, at a darn fair price, to get me back on the road.
