I went in January and March 2024, and both times I went, they had prime condition! Just like other mountains, the peak has lower Temps and more snow on the top. If I were a beginner, I would love this place not just because of the lift but because of the space and acres for green trails. Look forward to going next year. This was my first year there, and it was absolutely amazing.

Hill climb 2024 provided snow/rain in the morning and lots of sun in the afternoon. Saddleback Mountain was a great location for this event. Shuttle drivers offered transportation to and from the event. Chairlift rides were senic and provided an advantage point of view of the races and trail.

I couldn't love this mountain more! Great variety of terrain, all the people working here were lovely, the Easter egg hunt was so cute & the food at lunch was great. I love that there's boot bag space & not being forced to rent a locker.... ypu guys are doing it right ♡ grateful to have found this hidden gem! I'm a forever fan.

Great place to go for people of any age and skill level. Their green(easy) trails are perfect for those trying to learn how to ski and are even fun for those that just need a run to warmup on. Beyond that there are a whole host of difficult trails, blue, black diamond and double black diamond. This provides trails for people of any experience level. On top of all of that the prices are very fair. The lodge is great! They of course offer rental gear and have a shop full of skiing gear and memorabilia. I’d 110% recommend going to Saddleback!!

This mountain is something made of magic. We had heard such great things but nothing prepared us for the 2 days of hard fast skiing we have had all season! Two days just wasn't enough! From blue cruisers to hard and fast blacks and glades to steep double blacks plus a friendly beginner area, this place has it all! The staff are super friendly and theres even people waiting for you at the entrance to ask if you need help finding anything. What amazed me was the excellent grooming. No one grooms better than the staff at Saddleback! Tight line was even groomed! Did I mention that was my first double black?!?! After seeing how good the rest of the mountain was I had to check it out. The fastest and hardest I skied the whole season. This place is so awesome even my girlfriend who never skis did 11 runs in one day in the beginner area! This is a trip we will do every year, glad I spent my birthday in Rangely!

I have been skiing since 1972. I have never experienced a place like Saddleback. Amazing terrain, gorgeous lodge, but more than anything, the best staff of any resort I have ever visited. Everyone from the parking attendant, the ambassador, Karon, to David the bartender at Sneaky Pete's, to the ticket agents, the lift operators, girl in the retail shop, etc. everyone had a huge smile, went out of their way to ask me if I needed anything. Incredibly well run place. You take care of your employees as well as the conditions of the expertly groomed terrain. It shows. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Epic skiing. EPIC hiking. Epic mountain biking. I love hiking Maine’s Saddleback Mountain trails. Beginning at the ski lodge, the trail connects to the Appalachian Trail near the summit of Saddleback. The 360 degree views from up here are absolutely spectacular; including views of Mount Washington and the Presidential mountain range. From this point, continue hiking northward on the AT to reach nearby peaks of The Horn and Saddleback Junior. Highly recommend this beautiful hike!!

I went skiing with my dad on January 3rd and we had such a fantastic time. Checking in and picking up skis/helmet/poles was a breeze and everyone we encountered was SO friendly. The interior is beautiful with the huge fire places. The lift time to get up the mountain was so fast compared to when I came here as a young girl. It was gorgeous as always with the snow covered trees. Saddleback was resilient and did a great job making do with the impact from the 100 year flood. They have trails for every ski level! I cannot wait to come back next winter and I am so jealous of my dad who now lives only 20 minutes away, but I am so grateful to be able to make these memories with him :-) I have been skiing in CO a few times but those resorts simply do not compare to saddleback!

I give this place 4.5 stars. Partly due to having to wait an hour in line to redeem our Indy Pass but more so because I really couldn't read many trail signs due to them being covered in ice. Seems dangerous. Thank GOD at least they have bright orange flags that mark expert only trails for the double blacks. They might have some on the single blacks but one for sure was not marked because my little 12 year old sidekick who was skiing for the second weekend in her life almost went down it. Thank goodness that was one of the signs I could see when I got up close to it. The lifts are not marked that I could see either. Seems like that would be something easy and helpful plus maybe a large digital clock somewhere. Also, there was a lot of needing to push yourself along with ski poles on the lots of flat parts on the greens. Had to avoid the greens after a while.Anyway, now for the good. The lifts were great. Easy to get through with a waive of your arm. On the first, (record setting attendance) day (2700 I heard), we had to wait I'm guessing up to 5 minutes but it went quick. The second day we breezed though all day. The rental equipment was good, better than others we've rented from. The guy who helped us, seemed not very interested in us. But I guess he's entitled to his personality. He got us our gear, not in a multitasking manner but I guess it all fit so that's better than some shops!I did visit the retail shop. Sweet woman working in there. Unfortunately, also visited the first aid office after spraining my thumb. Amy was great. In the lodge area, first day was extremely packed yet we managed to find the one open cubby to cram 4 pairs of boots and a backpack into. 2nd day definitely had more open space. Food was tasty. Tables could be a little cramped. They had a bottle refill station and with free cubbies to store your gear, might as well bring a water bottle! Also, this only applies to women, but they had complimentary feminine products in the bathroom. How very thoughtful. Also, boxes of tissues here and there. Oh, and dessert. Yummy, delicious desserts. Also, free parking. Drives me crazy that bigger resorts charge an arm, a leg, a kidney and your first born to ski and then they want you also to pay for parking. Seriously? Let me second mortgage my house for you.Anyway...Would I come back? If I lived in the area, absolutely. It's a great resort with a homey feel! But, the snow was crusty, as is known in the east, so probably we'll stick to skiing out west. But if you are within driving distance, it's a good solid option. For whatever my limited 2 years of skiing opinion is worth!

We were fortunate to be able to catch the eclipse from here. Hands down, the best slope in Maine.

Great family mountain experience. Decent cafeteria food and pricing. Great staff. It's a hell of a drive, so consider taking advantage of a stay&ski to deal.

Half the mountain was closed due to ice, unfortunately, but the crew did amazing work to groom a lot of the runs and we had it nearly to ourselves. What a gem.

Today was my first time ever skiing and I’ve been to alot of other mountains in different states ,on my very first visit to Saddleback I knew this was where I wanted to learn , I had the very best experience and teachers Don & Judy , they made sure to show me everything I needed to know and much more .. I ended up pairing off with Don and he took me to the next level! I couldn’t have had a better teacher for my first time! I also have to mention that the entire staff & crew are so helpful, warm and genuinely friendly. It truly has a unique small town vibe in the very best way! I highly recommend anyone who loves skiing to come to saddleback I promise you won’t be disappointed!Thank you Saddleback!

Awesome ski mountain! So glad to have discovered this place in 2023, thanks to the Indy Pass. Now it's a must-ski destination every season.Great terrain, especially the glades and steeps near Casablanca. Beautiful views, nice lodge, all around great place.

We had an awesome day here- we didn’t want to leave when it was over! Saddleback has a big beginner area and is set up in a way where more advanced skiers and riders don’t tend to end up there. For those looking for a challenge, the steeps on the east side of the mountain are unlike anything I’ve seen on the east coast. There’s a decent terrain park with its own lift, and the new high speed quad is able to move a lot of people. If you have the Indy pass, this is a must visit!Only issue is getting the pass was a bit of a mess, I had to wait in a long line to redeem my Indy pass day, you have to sign waivers online ahead of time, and you have to pay $5 to actually get your pass card. There were a lot of people in line that were confused about the process. If you do t have an Indy pass and you complete all your stuff online ahead of time, then you can just scan your code and pick your pass up, which is great. Just wish we had a way to do that for Indy pass.Overall this is one of my favorite east coast mountains and I can’t wait to go back!

This place is fantastic. I have never had a less than great day yet out on the trails... my only gripe would be the actual task of purchasing through Indy Pass tales a while and could be improved. But given the life we lead that gives me the capability of doing what I do as an outdoor adventurist, no star could be deducted...

I have been to some incredible mountains from the Colorado Rockies to New England. I am possibly biased, but there is no other mountain in Maine that measures up to Saddleback.I'll never forget the most amazing powder day in Maine in 2015, I called some west coast friends to brag about the conditions, then the unthinkable happened.Fast forward to 2020 and the second most epic powder day in Maine rekindled my love for this mountain with each leg punishing run.The secret is out! The staff are the best in the business, the snow keeps coming and the mountain is thriving. For those who know, no further explanation needed. For those who don't believe me, come ski for yourself! If you can handle it that is... 💙

We went to the mountain for the April 8 eclipse. The staff did a great job making sure we had everything we needed and helped us navigate around the lodge and outdoor space. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and helpful. Great staff, great location. I am glad Saddleback is back!

Saddleback is the gem of skiing in Maine. It is a large ski mountain, with trails for everyone. The double blacks are very challenging, and the bunny slopes are perfect for new skiers. They have hosts are incredibly helpful for navigating the area, and they can lead you to where you need to be. The staff inside the lodge are very helpful too and help all guests get through the lines swiftly. I had heard that it is a big mountain with a ‘small mountain feel’ and I have to agree. It feels like a small community, where everyone knows each other and everyone is friendly. Then you have a large mountain with gorgeous views of the lakes and you feel like you are at a large expensive resort. I can’t stress enough that this place lives up to the hype.

Can't believe how much I enjoyed this mountain. It has everything; steep trees, wide groomers, meandering trails, and the best beginner area of any mountain I've been to before. Used both Indy pass days back to back and definitely plan on returning this season.

No lift lines ever. Big mountain with big snow and fast lifts. Rarely do I ever ride a chair with another person. Friendly staff and volunteers that are passionate about the place. Trails are well covered by snowmaking. My one complaint is the pub. You can see my review of that it speaks for itself. The cafe in the base lodge is awesome. Friendly staff and good lunch.

Went to the mountain for the snowmobile event. Event was great, however the service in the pub was absolutely horrible. Any question you asked the server was met with an extremely rude attitude like she did not want to be there let alone have customers. Brought the whole overall experience down.

We have loved skiing at saddleback, the staff is so friendly and helpful. The lift operators are great, the host support goes above and beyond. We are up here most weekends and some weekdays, family and friends are always encouraged as this mountain has been and will always be a family ski mountain. We were go glad when it re open as our truck to sugarloaf was a long ride especially when your in Rangeley. Look forward to many more wonderful days at saddleback.

Mountain has it all: new lifts, steeps, trees, powder, great lodge with pub and get this free boot storage. This isn't a crowded Epic or Icon mountain no no no its fun and well run. Too bad it's in Maine where roads are not a priority the worst roads in US good job Maine.

Great conditions.. Staff was super friendly and personable. Judy @ courtesy desk and Pearson from rental were awesome!!! A new hi-speed quad opened today 12/29/22. Book online and save the lines. Recommed getting passes or picking up rentals the day before from 2-4.

What a wonderful ski area. Felt like western mountain skiing. Vast and varied terrain, including glades for all levels. Up-to-date equipment; friendly staff. Despite the trek to get there, I hope to go back next season. And oh yeah - it’s on the Indy Pass!

It’s been 5 years and a few months since I last was able to ski here, and hoped for the best for Saddleback. I am happy to have patience rewarded with 2 of the nicest days skiing I’ve had anywhere. The staff as friendly as ever, grooming superb in tricky conditions and that new chairlift like a limo ride. Thanks all who helped make it happen.

Our first season skiing at Saddleback. What a great experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. Terrain for every skier and the snow is holding up well despite Mother Nature not cooperating. The views are also spectacular.
