I had an excellent experience working with John and Academy Masonry on a pretty big project doing my driveway and backyard. His quote was competitive but above all I greatly appreciate his professionalism from the start to the end of the project. Communication with John was excellent, his team did a great job throughout and cleaned thoroughly afterwards. I had some trepidation about finding a good contractor because sometimes they don’t follow up on what they promised. But I would highly recommend John and his team. John turned our backyard into a beautiful space. If you’re looking for a custom paver patio, look no further than Academy Masonry. John came out when he said he would, gave us a quote and worked with us every step of the way, we were in constant communication. I needed to repair a chimney, replace a window lintel, and tuckpointing at various places. John gave me honest guidance throughout. He got his crew quickly and finished the project on time. Working with Academy Masonry was a pleasure from the first time we met throughout our entire project. John is very professional and will go above and beyond your expectations. He keeps you informed throughout the work process. In our project of laying down pavers from our deck to our gazebo, if I wanted a paver changed due to the color variance, he was happy to change it and kept a smile throughout. He explained what he was going to do to get what we expected. After the completion of the job, the following day, I noted that there was a small puddle of water that remained on a small section of the walkway. He immediately told me that he would be out the following morning, and in this case, he kept his word, and of course, within a short period of time it was resolved.There is no question in our minds about having john do more work for us as we need it. We appreciate working with you.

Academy Work did an excellent job on our back yard and side entrances. We couldn't be happier!!! They are very reasonable and do amazing work. John’s team is great! The whole process working with them was very smooth. They were able to schedule the project just one week after the quote for my chimney repair. They came in time, and finished the project nice and clean. They took pictures before and after and explained to me clearly. Very nice job! I will definitely recommend them.

I can not say enough about John and his team. From day one John exemplified professionalism. From the time of the estimate to completion of the job I always felt he was giving 100%. The price was fair and the work was superb. They worked every day, and all day and got the job done way before schedule. With that said, there was something that put John above most. His communication was above and beyond. There was not one time I called him that he either didn’t answer or if he didn’t pick up he would call me back within 5 minutes. In my opinion you can not put a price tag on that. I would highly recommend Academy Mason Work for your next masonry project. You will not be disappointed.

My chimney needed a rebuild from the roofline up. I called five contractors and settled on Academy Masonry. It was a good choice. He said he would call before coming over, and he did, both when coming over for the estimate and for the actual job. He included me in the decision-making process, sending me pictures of different colored bricks and asking which I liked best. His craftsmanship is top notch. He and his worker did a great job cleaning up my property before they left. Would recommend cheers

These guys are quick, professional, and affordable compared to other places we got quotes from. They did a complete tear down and rebuild of the chimney stack and was done in just two days. The end result looks great.

I contacted Academy masonry for brick work for my front yard and john ands his crew did a fantastic job that deserves 5 stars, if not more. They did the work very fast and the quality and detail of the work shows when you look at how the front yard looks now. John and his crew are masters in their craft. I had my chimney tuck pointed and a bluestone sill saddle installed. The finished work looks clean and well detailed. I just hired academy Masonry and construction last week. john is very active & responsive. My 100 year old house in Dorchester needed tuckpointing and a leak into basement repaired. Leak most likely due to seam where brick & cement block wall needed patching. John responded to my call same day, came out & gave me an estimate next day and completed the job a few days later when my scheduled allowed. Fast efficient work. He also repaired crack in my front step and sealed that. Repairs in morning, rain that night, no leak. Very satisfied with his work. Reasonable price. I highly recommend this company.

Recently had my outdoor patio (old asphalt) ripped up and replaced with a beautiful new patio with pavers, came out great! Academy also re-stucco’d my stairwell and retaining wall… looks good as new!
