I can't thank Ron, and the Hingham Lumber staff, enough. My wife backed into our garage door and we were quoted close to $10k to replace it. I took out the damaged panel, and Ron was kind enough to repair it. Not only did he repair the damage, he did so whilst preserving what he could saving me money in the process, and making it better than it was before. All in, close to $600 later and I have a panel that looks better than before and have saved time and money! Now, as for the color matching, that was on me. Thank you Ron!

Thank you to Ron Tompkins for helping to create tables using sawhorse legs for an urban garden that I am creating in a city parking lot in South Boston! Ron listened carefully to my ideas, and he delivered a carefully crafted table that is perfect!Once the table was in place, I needed benches. Be sure to have a competent person present for delivery. A $7000. Wood delivery was left in my gravel driveway buried up to 5 sheets of 4X8 into my gravel and left it. And we're getting rain this weekend. They won't address it until Monday after the rains.

Best service staff and lumber quality in the immediate area. 30 day return policy and 10% restock charge on everything is a bit antiquated these days...and NO REFUND all on ordered items...NOT just custom ordered. I'll still buy small items and ACE sale products here for convenience...But will unfortunately have to go with the big box places for moderately priced and expensive items.

I ordered a storm door for my townhouse at Hingham Lumber and worked with Karyn. She was professional, quick to respond and very patient with my many questions and requests. Everyone I dealt with from the gentleman who came out to measure, to those who did the installation, were a pleasure to deal with and did a great job. Peter in the paint department is my go to person for paint and made sure I had the right paint to match the existing door. It's so nice to deal with a local business who offers this kind of service!

I went in on Monday with our Propress M18 machine that stopped working. Peter Brown in the service department was outstanding. He said to give him 10 minutes to figure it out and he did. I had the tool back in my hand the same day. It was a bit of an emergency as we needed the tool for the following day. In the past Peter also repaired our Air Snake. Peter is very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Great customer service! Thank you!

Tons of stuff in stock, huge selection. Was a shortage on pressure treated for a while. Also was able to buy masks here. Huge place. Very fast. Good service and friendly. It gets super busy during the week but was still decently fast considering the amount of traffic and customers going through. Fast account lookup.

This place has the most fantastic kitchen design department. We worked with Marie Dunkelberger there, on recommendation from my contractor. Marie is the most knowledgeable, experienced and infinitely patient professional we could imagine.She listens carefully and offers valuable suggestions and everything she says and does is aimed at making your kitchen as perfect as it can be. We designed two kitchens and two bathrooms there and I am very very pleased at the way everything turned out.

2 stars for the inventory . 0 for the door / window department. I’ve tried 2 separate times to buy something and each time it’s as though I am begging for help. Last time I was handed catalogs to look at . How about we talk about what I want first . Lumber warehouse seems decent but that’s about it. I’ll buy some supplies here but not the big ticket stuff. They don’t seem to care enough . Hires some real associates first . Both the salesman were young guys . I will say the store associates did come up to me to see if I needed help . Hence the supplies I may buy here .

Decent selection, but short hours and staff is focused on contractors. More of a high end hardware store. For a homeowner, worth the 10 minute drive to Lowes or Home Depot.

From both a personal and professional standpoint, this is hands down the only place you should go. They have EVERYTHING you need no matter how obscure on hand at all times and the staff is mostly seasoned contractors so you know you can always get the help you need every time without fail. I've been going there for years and neither the business nor the people have yet to even mildly dissapoint

Have been here before and been very satisfied, this time, however, not so much. I am about to start another project. I have the contractor but wanted to See the product before I decided on it definitely. So, on line it stated that Hingham lumber was a 'showroom' for this product. Not true. Albeit, the staff was super pleasant, not a lot of available assistance. Lots of 'pointing me in the right direction.' Nobody especially interested in talking with me.

We went there last week to get two propane tanks filled for our Gas Grille ... They have the best price anywhere I have seen ... I have a Commercial Accunt there , but we paid cash as we got a $ 5.00 Coupon in a mailed Circular ... 2 full Cannisters for under 15 Bucks !! ... Great price ... Smiley , polite Employees !!

If you can't stand the impersonalness and cavernous feel of a big box store, come to Hingham Lumber instead. Plenty of friendly, knowledgeable sales help. Right on Rt 3A in Cohasset - they moved from Hingham when the Greenbush commuter rail line was resurrected.And they're back to giving out free small bags of freshly popped popcorn on Saturdays!

Hingham Lumber is one of my favorite hardware stores. They carry an excellent selection of quality products, a lot of which you won’t find at the big chain hardware stores. Plenty of friendly & knowledgeable staff are always on hand. They are a Ben Moore retailer and the paint department in general is top notch. Large, drive thru lumber yard behind main building.
