Hiring a contractor these days can be stressful and challenging but, Cycle Carpentry has changed that for me. After messaging Curtis to set up a time to come out to give me a quote to the completion of my project was wonderful. I was very impressed with the knowledge and courtesy I was given. He came out to the house and was on my roof assessing the issues, taking pictures to show me exactly what the issues were and within a day or two I was presented with a contact entailing everything we had talked about. After accepting the quote, the job was completed promptly. The workmanship was awesome and he provided pictures after the job was completed. If you are in need of a company to rely on for top quality workmanship and honesty, Cycle Carpentry is the ONLY one to call. Cycle Carpentry came to replace the mansard roof on my Second Empire home that was built in 1868. What should have been a simple job quickly changed as each rotted layer was revealed. Curtis worked patiently with me to get it right, rebuilding most of the roof structure and window enclosures etc. He was always calm, professional and letting me know what options there were if any. I have gotten many compliments on the roof and his team. Now when it rains on days like today, I no longer worry about leaks and damage. We feel so fortunate to have found Curtis Perry, a reliable and trustworthy roofing professional who was determined to find the cause of an ongoing leak with our 6 year old roof.After assessing the chimney and the roof, Curtis Perry explained in understandable terms the deteriorated condition of the chimney and the need to rebuild it, as well as issues with the roof due to poor prior workmanship.His proposal for the work was detailed and reasonably priced. When additional issues with the roof were uncovered, he did his best regarding pricing and timeline to complete the added work. His crew was great and cleaned their work area meticulously.We are really pleased with the quality of the work and so grateful to have found such a reliable and approachable professional. I looked up Cycle Carpentry for a siding job. Curtis was very up front and professional from the start and very honest about what we needed. He wasn't pushy about anything. When another issue arose close to the timing of the project, he added it on with no hassle.When we had a minor issue afterwards (that turned out not to be the result of the project) Curtis worked with us to find a resolution and wasn't satisfied until we were. 100% would recommend and would hire him again!Curtis' crew was professional and friendly and the house looks fantastic. From start to finish Cycle Carpentry and Curtis Perry proved to be the most professional organization that we have ever dealt with. The littlest detail or task such as delivery of materials to cleaning the property after completion were all given the same priority and attention to detail. The crew was amazing and the pace they set was impressive. They were friendly, respectful and cordial but above all - professional and extremely efficient.When the job was completed - not one nail was left on the entire property. They used great care to protect the grounds during the stripping of the roof and as much care to pick up all the associated debris. They used tarps, magnets to pick up nails and leaf blowers to clean and tidy the property. Curtis was there to oversee the entire process and step in with direction and guidance where needed. Although we had rain encroaching the job - it never showed with the crew. They kept the steady pace all day with no signs of panic or cutting corners. They showed a determination to get the job done before the rain and to do it correctly. And that’s what they did. I never saw one instance of complaining or disinterest due to the extreme heat and rain. This crew and Curtis were amazingly professional and determined to give us a beautiful finished product despite the extreme weather conditions. I have never been more impressed with a business man and a company than Curtis Perry and Cycle Carpentry. Curtis inspected my roof and pointed out some issues, the biggest of which is that the roof was improperly and inadequately vented. So he quoted replacing the back half of the roof and fixing the ventilation. The front half was only 2 years old and looked like it was done properly. The quote was very reasonable and less than we expected.Upon starting the job, he quickly discovered that the ventilation issue had led to mold issues so he quoted replacing all the sheathing. We went ahead with this and he quickly got the necessary materials delivered (same day) and increased the size of the crew to do what was necessary. He then found rafters were rotted under the sheathing and so the repairs needed were even MORE extensive. Through all of this Curtis kept us informed of the cost and time impacts of these unexpected things as well as the choices and risks. The hard working crew ended up putting in 3 12 hour days and got the roof done RIGHT. Cycle Carpentry installed a new roof in April of 2021 and the experience was excellent. The crew was professional, worked fast, and cleaned up to the point where you'd never know they were there were it not for the beautiful new roof. I have worked with his company twice now for roofing repairs, both times I found myself in a pinch with unexpected damages. Previous owner installs subject my roof to leak in one section, I reached out to multiple companies in the area for help and he was by far the most responsive. Last summer, Curtis Perry and his crew at Cycle Carpentry did a complete exterior remodel, and rebuilt my back sunroom, replaced the windows on my enclosed front porch and added a porch to the sunroom. This year, I had them back to build a Trex patio in my backyard, and am waiting for them to complete a small bathroom remodel. Obviously, I am a huge fan of this company. Curtis and his crew are very professional and really, in my opinion, trustworthy. I went into this extensive project understanding fully that there would be overages, (old house;old problems), but they were discussed and explained and by all means fair- in fact the whole project was very fairly priced.
