We hired New England Home Restorations to remodel our bathroom and creating a bedroom out of the existing floor plan, so we could move my handicapped mother in with us. This was no easy task. The house is old so the house is quirky to put it mildly, (but with charm inside). The main part of the house was moved to its present lot in 2 pieces back in the 50’s, and then added onto by the family that owned it. There was no telling what we’d find once walls were open, as it had changed hands several times, been a rental property at one point, and when we bought it, it was being sold “as is.”We took the back half of our long rectangular living room and made a 10’ x 11’ bedroom, and an 11’ x 14’ living room. Our expectations were exceeded! They installed 4 recessed lights to each room as well as a low profile ceiling fan in the living room. They removed the bay window (which hadn’t been installed incorrectly), and replaced it with 2 new windows. The room now has greatly improved functionality.Now to the big project. Remodeling our very outdated bathroom. The whole thing was gutted to the studs and subfloor. There were many questions when the bathroom walls came down. Jack and his crew installed everything from the studs on in, including all new plumbing and electrical. New lighting and a ceiling fan where no ceiling fan had existed, were installed as well as new outlets. Previously to use the only outlet in the bathroom you had to plug it in behind you; now there’s an outlet next to the vanity. We have 2 recessed lights; one in the shower, the other near the toilet, with a fan/light combination in the center (that also has a Bluetooth speaker!) We weren’t sure what to do with the shower stall beyond what functionality was necessary. The tile my wife chose was beautiful, but the guys caught an issue before it even began, so tile credit goes to Jack and Ziggy. Their skills are just amazing! My wife has OCD so little imperfections drive her up a the wall. As time came for laying out the tiles, they noticed the walls had keystoned and wouldn’t look symetrical floor to ceiling. So he brought it to our attention and suggested a larger tile and pattern that would sort of mask the keystoning giving a uniform appearance. The shower was previously a 70’s tan and yellow, and a gawd-awful shade of brown paint on the vanity and closet. Now we have a beautiful walk in shower with modern tile walls and pebble floor. It’s also completely handicap accessible.Throughout the whole experience Jack and his NEHR crew were there to answer any question. Allay any fear. And most importantly they worked with us guiding us to help us make decisions that would best suit us. We’d never done a project like this and Jack and Liz walked us through every step of the way.Now the most important question. Would I hire them again? Absolutely, without hesitation. Our remodel is far more than I expected. In fact, we’ve already reached out about another project we’d like to do next! Jack is a perfectionist. I would highly suggest getting a quote from Jack and Liz before you hire anyone. They’re personable and really invested in giving you exactly what you want. They’ve exceeded our expectations at every turn.Pre and post photos attached. Please excuse the “post” sofa. We were waiting for ours to be delivered. It’s quite the transformation!

If you’re not using Jack from NEHR, you’re missing out!Last Fall (2023), we had the great fortune of having Jack and Liz help us on our home project. We had a lot of work done to the exterior of our home. Every single window, casing, door, slider, and storm doors was done by NEHR. They also did our siding and trim as well. It was no easy task. The house had been neglected for years. There were a great deal of surprises that arose during this project. Things no one could have anticipated without having knowledge of the house under multiple previous owners. We even had to have a second story wall rebuilt with absolutely no idea that was coming. Took us all by shock. Jack and his crew did not miss a beat.They even helped us with clearing out our basement as we’d had water damage so everything in the basement had been ruined. Pricing is absolutely fair. Jack and Liz are beyond professional at their work, while also being personable, and you truly feel how vested they are in your project. They became friends to us.We cannot wait to work with them again this year. Still lots more to do!I really and truly feel you will not find a better contractor out there. The attention to detail, skill, time management, personal touches; it doesn’t get any better. I’ve been burned by contractors and other tradesmen before, and had a great deal of anxiety going into this given the scope of this project and unknowns that were certain to arise. We could not have been in better hands. Call them. You won’t regret working with this wonderful group. I can’t even put into words how much I appreciate them.

In short Liz, Jack and their crew are simply fantastic, reliable and honest!I used to think of the dream contractor someone who would be reliable, show up on time, not take advantage of us with overpricing, and do a decent work.That was until I met Liz and Jack, they went above and beyond any expectation. Not only is the quality of their work superb, but they are just amazingly good people who care about their customers.We had a leak that caused major damages and were not only struggling to find a contractor that would be willing to work on a "small" project but who would understand our situation while we fought with insurance. Liz walked us through the process, she also introduced us to a public adjuster and she literally WORKED with us. Jack and his crew were attentive and listened to our needs and our goals.The end product, we are excited to have more projects to work with them again and I would blindly recommend them to anyone, you will not be disappointed!

I cannot praise Jack and his crew enough! I had 2 pipes burst. I am so fortunate to have stumbled upon a rave review on Facebook. They did an amazing job on my drywall and insulation. BIG SHOUT OUT!!!!! to Jack & his crew. I was looking for a contractor to renovate a space in my house to accommodate a golf simulator. The renovation included the demoing of a ceiling in order to raise the height of the ceiling to accommodate the golf simulator. I contacted several contractors, but needless to say none of them wanted to take on the job, either they were too busy or there was not a big enough profit for them to take on the job. I contacted Jack and even though he was booked solid for the rest of the year with work he still took on my project and was able to get it done over the weekend. When the project was completed, to say I was impressed, would be an understatement, the project came out better than what I had envisioned it to look like when it was done. Besides the quality of work a couple of things really stood out to me. The professionalism and communication was top notch. Jack kept me informed through phone calls and pictures every step of the project. Over the next several years, I plan on doing several more projects and renovations. You can stop searching, you’ve just found the best contractor for your job!Like many others, when we decided to do a large renovation project to the bottom floor of our home, we were struggling to find a contractor for the job. It’s the age-old story, some would show up to scope the job, then ghost. Others would give us a vague description of what they could do without much clarity; most just wouldn’t return our calls. As someone who’s about to spend some serious cash, all this just makes you nervous and can make the whole process feel daunting. In fairness, though, this wasn’t a small project. We were looking at a complete transformation of the bottom floor that involved renovating the kitchen and master bedroom, creating a en-suite bathroom, designing a custom kitchen pantry and master bedroom closet, and even moving walls. To top it off, we needed someone to start the work ASAP as we were expecting our second child.Enter NEHR. From the moment we called Jack and Liz, we knew they were different; professional, responsive, and very passionate about their work; it felt like we had good friends working on our job. After scoping our job, they gave us a comprehensive estimate with clear timelines and the work they would handle. We wasted no time in signing the contract. True to their word, they began work precisely when they said they would and completed the entire project in a remarkable 6 weeks.Like every project, we had some small issues come up, but NEHR handled all of them. I can honestly say that our biggest stress during the whole project was just picking out what we wanted. On top of that, they were so responsive during the whole project. Jack never missed one of my calls. He would also call me at the end of every day to debrief on the completed work and map out the next day. How many people can say that was their experience with their contractor?To top it all off, they went above and beyond in so many ways. Here are a few I want to highlight:-- Jac put all new insulation in our walls at no charge, as he didn’tfeel comfortable putting the old insulation back in.-- They allowed us to buy our kitchen cabinets directly and usetheir contractor discount to save money.-- After removing a wall, Jack took extra precautions andreinforced our ceiling joists without charging us a dime, just tobe on the safe side.Again, I can’t recommend NEHR enough for your project. Don’t wait to call them, they’re booking up fast!

I can't believe I was lucky enough to find this amazing company. My luck never goes this way. Right from the beginning, from first interacting with Liz to then meeting with Liz and Jack I felt confident in this company. I had met with so many other companies and oh my...what a racket it is out there. I was afraid to move forward with anyone. After I met Jack and Liz I knew I had found "my people". Jack and his team are absolutely amazing. I had a fire back in January that ruined the side of my house and part of my basement.I’m in the coast guard so I’m not really familiar with this area yet. I went to a different contractor at first and had a terrible experience guy never followed through with his plans. So i found New England home restoration and got in touch with Liz. Man Liz is awesome she got all the numbers for my repair down to the last detail and they got to work. They honestly finished way faster than i thought they would took them about 2 months to finish once the permits and everything passed. I had a hole repaired on the side of my house and my basement completely finished. I could honestly not have asked for better contractors every problem that we had they come up with a solution that would save me money in the end. I TOTALLY love Jack and Liz and their staff who re-built both my 20 x 26 back deck and my 20 x 10 front deck! They both made this huge project go like clock-work and took care of everything from the permits, deliveries and day to day work. Liz is amazing and so organized! She took care of gathering all the necessary paperwork and permits as well keeping me posted via emails and texts with my quotes and invoicing. Jack and his team didn't leave anything out and they actually thought of a lot of the little things that I didn't think of at all! Jack and Liz and their amazing team are very professional, knowledgeable and know exactly what the building codes are which was a very comforting feeling for me. I could not be more pleased with this company after having TERRIBLE experiences with 3 prior contractors. Liz and Jack were extremely responsive and acted quickly to explain when I had questions. Any issues I had were immediately explained and/or remedied. I had already spent a lot of money with amateurs "fixing" the leak and only causing more problems and damage so I was relieved to finally find someone who clearly knew what they were doing and worked very hard to keep me feeling comfortable with the process.

I recently had my house completely remodeled by New England home restoration. They took down a couple of walls to open the house up and put up LVL beams. They raised part of the house up 8 inches. It was a slow process but it worked amazingly. Some of the work included but was not limited to new ceilings, floors, Barn doors, custom built shower, custom built closets, new windows, new slider, complete kitchen remodel including island, etc. Everything was done in a professional manner and on time.
