Our mini split installation was both professional and courteous. Jeff worked through inclement weather with diligence and got the job done in the projected amount of time. While inside our home he kept tools safely away from our children, allowed me necessary time to choose exact locations for the units, and explained their functions when the job was completed. Overall we are very happy with the work done by Arctic Refrigeration.

UPDATE: A couple years in and Arctic has stood by their product and warranties. We installed a number of heat pumps from the top-quality manufacturer. Even though these are high quality units, there was an issue with one of them that was not the fault of Arctic. Jim and his team were very responsive in addressing the problem and everything is working great. So now we have experienced an excellent installation and excellent maintenance with Arctic and I would highly recommend them.ORIGINAL REVIEW: We just had Arctic install our mini splits. The whole team there is great. Planning the project was made simple. The installation crew worked with some challenging features of the property and made everything look and function perfectly. Our church, Trinitarian Congregational, is a meal site for the Franklin County Community Meals program. In preparing the Thanksgiving meal, it was discovered that our commercial refrigerator was not working. Arctic Refrigeration was called and responded immediately. Those on site were very impressed with the response time and the efficiency, professionalism and friendliness of the technician. The most professional and helpful company that I had the pleasure to work with! They came immediately to fix and replace my neighbors hot water heater tank as they had been without hot water for 3 weeks! Two days later my mother's got water tank blew flooded her basement. They came up the next day and replaced the tank with a highly efficient unit and their work was above average. They did an amazing job and assisted with a large rebate of $750.00. I now need my hot water tank replaced and I just ordered it through Arctic today. I will only use them as they are professional, friendly and they go out of their way to assist you. I can't thank them enough! If you want a contractor that actually calls you back and helps you to save money, then look no further! 100% satisfied

Such a great experience with Arctic — when my boiler replacement exposed some issues with the wider heating system, Jim and Jeff went the extra mile to make sure we could keep the house warm before a coming cold snap. called Arctic about a furnace, when the man came out for what was an estimate (he did not state he charges for estimates) he later called to tell me I was going to be billed for the time, I understand that it is normal for HVAC companies to give free quotes and all others did (also I received no estimate, and no work was performed at all). when I explained this on the phone he didn't say anything and I thought the matter was resolved. He then told me I had to have a boiler expert look at it which I did. he came out, checked it over and told me some of the problems with it, the boiler expert DID NOT charge me for this. He did say I had to have the pipes pressure tested before I could proceed with the furnace. I called arctic and he sent out his guy. He spent a couple hours fixing some pipes and then several hours trying to pressure test the baseboard pipes but was unsuccessful, so he tried filling them with water which promptly poured out the bottom of the boiler. basically the boiler is scrap metal, which I had to pay several hours of labor to find out. When the plumber handed me the bill it was for over 800$ which included 2 hours for the initial visit (which was less than 45 minutes, and again no work was done and no estimate was given). I called the owner of arctic who said if i was going to do any further business with me i would have to pay for the initial visit. I ended up paying some 800$ for about 2 hours worth of plumbing repairs. I wish I had not paid for the initial visit because I have no interest in dealing with this company ever again. When I bought the house i was told the furnace worked, however after Arctic, and their boiler expert tore it apart I now have a pile of scrap metal.

I own 2 places in Ocean City, Maryland, and have used Arctic as my HVAC contractor for many years. I have service contracts for both places. Arctic always responds promptly and keeps appointments on time for annual maintenance work. The times (once in each place - one of which is a rental unit) that have required service the technician has stayed on the job until the issues were resolved. This year I am having both HVAC units replaced due to the impending R-22 refrigerant problem. One unit has been replaced and the other will be done on February 1. Arctic has always been entirely trustworthy since my home is 380 miles distant and I cannot always be there when service or replacement is performed. There prices are competitive and the office staff is congenial and helpful. What's not to like??? They get 5 stars out of 5 and I feel confident in recommending this company to others. Paul L. Meier

I was recommended Arctic Refrigeration, Greenfield, MA for their reasonable handling of heating and cooling related repair jobs. I had these guys do some minor duct work on my furnace in April 2017. I had two people work on it for a couple of hours and the technician informed me that I would receive the invoice by mail in a few days. I was expecting the bill to be reasonable. However, when I received the bill I was shocked to see the excessive labor charges. I tried to talk to the owner to see if he could be reasonable, but he did not budge much. What was even worse was that they were also charging me for the driving distance to get to my house and they were not accepting major credit cards.I would certainly not recommend this company to anyone unless you are prepared to pay for enormous labor charges for simple repair jobs.
