Let me 1st start out with saying that other than on Amazon, I don’t write many reviews. We have an older home built in 1949. We were searching on the web for contractors to replace our windows, roof & side our house & detached garage. We were hit by a tornado!. Markin Co was great thru the whole recovery process. They repaired our garage, replaced our garage door, roof, gutters, soffit, siding and windows. Markin is a company that aims to please. From start to finish, their main concern was that we were happy with the job and finished product. They installed 14 Provia windows, a Provia entry door and Provia patio door. What a tremendous upgrade to what we replaced. Few renovations come without challenges but Mark, Kevin and the crew answered all of our concerns and made sure that we were completely satisfied. We are happy with the windows and doors and the quality workmanship of the Markin crew.

They worked on our home Dec. 2022-April 2023, so maybe things have turned around since and I hate leaving poor reviews, but I would have wanted someone to warn me about the lack of attention this company provided.Initially, the company was great. They were out to our home and provided us a quote for some home upgrades very quickly. They started work (new ceiling in our kitchen) a week later. Left a gigantic mess (we were living at the home and they were well aware) but we said whatever.Painting started a few weeks later. We had our living room, dining room, kitchen and cabinets, bathroom and bedroom done. Quote did not include doors, we did not realize as we assumed it was built in to the room. Counting that as our mistake, but FYI for those that may not be aware.Painting took weeks. There were days when no one would come to paint and we didn’t hear from anyone. Would try reaching out and were ghosted. The painter also reeked of booze and weed to the point that it lingered in our house. We ended up staying elsewhere for a week as my pregnant self couldn’t handle the smell and didn’t feel safe in a house that was full of paint cans. To top it off, they disposed all of the paint cans in our garbage instead of hauling it out themselves. My husband worked in construction for some time and I was once a claims adjuster, we know disposal is written in to the contract price. Then, months later in the late spring when the project was finally done, we tried to open the windows and discovered they were all painted shut AND when we eventually got them open the inch of window below where it closes were never painted, so it’s an off-white color which looks so tacky when our windows are open.Our kitchen was next, which we were pleased with. The guy who did our countertops was great (unfortunately, I believe he is now retired as he said he only had a couple months left). And the plumber who came in to make sure our sink was fixated properly was also great. However, backsplash was a different story.First, we were ghosted when trying to plan the backsplash. We’re told to pick out what we wanted, had it ordered and delivered and then crickets. We called and texted our PM several times with no response. Finally the work started mid January. It looked great, but when they moved the oven they cracked our laminate kitchen floor with a big scratch/cut about a foot long.The tile guy also would come hours late. Say he’d be at the house around 9/10 and not show up until the afternoon then only put in a couple hours of work. Or he just wouldn’t show and again, we reach out to him and someone at the company with no response. Because our bathroom also had to get done, we are now in to February.So two and a half months later, the work is done but we still have this huge crack in our floor. We were asked to finish paying the project (total was about $25k, at this point we owed half) and obviously denied it. We called to have someone come out and inspect the work and see about the floor, crickets again. After denying the final payment for the third time, the company called to ask why. We explained and they had someone out in the next couple weeks. This was early March.About the floor, took them until mid April to fix their mistake. So this “easy” project they told us they had time for took all in all five months. The house looks good, besides the windows as previously mentioned, but we could have got that somewhere else. Maybe it’s because it was a “small” project, but for us, $25k was a lot of money to be treated like we were not important. Again, maybe things have changed in the last few months, but we wouldn’t give them another chance.

Our experience with Markin Co. has been great! Chuck M. was a God send. He was here the day after the storm that did substantial damage to our home. He immediately gave me the feeling that he was honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable He was very thorough with his assessment and explanation of everything. He kept in touch throughout the entire process. They arrived early and stayed till the job was finished. Also did a great job of cleaning up afterward. After a recent hail storm I was in need of a roof replacement. Not knowing what company to go with I happened to meet Chuck at our local convenience store. I asked if he would stop by and give me a quote. He promptly showed up that day and it has been a great experience from that point on. We hired Markin Co eight months ago and we are still waiting for windows to be installed. We had half come in two months but refused six windows because of poor quality and were still waiting for the six new ones to come in. The windows are 20 years old, but he didn't say it was going to take us twenty years to get new ones again! When we call or text Markin he would respond back right away now he doesn't respond back or just gives simple answers. His answer now is May!!! We would not recommend just because of poor quality of material, service and time to get these windows place in our home. I don't think It should take 9 months for replacement windows to be installed. But if you want to gamble and think it couldn't happen, go for it!!!! We can't wait until were don't with this guy. We had asked several times for a copy of the warranty were still waiting for the copy still haven't got that either... Never would we recommend Markin Co. Looks like we're going to have to seek attorney!

I got quotes from a few different companies to have new windows installed in my breezeway. The ones I had were original but were missing the storm windows. Most of the screens had holes in them as well, so we had yellow jackets coming in the house every summer.It was time to spruce up the house and add a little extra value to it. Markin Co. didn’t pressure me to make a purchase, and they offered beautiful affordable windows. When I found a lower price with another company, they lowered their price!I signed the contract in April of this year and got the windows done in September. That was partially due to supply chain issues. I had told Markin that I would be happy as long as my windows were installed before it got too cold, because we get rain and snow in the breezeway so we can’t store anything there.The installers came out yesterday. They were respectful, polite and professional. Unlike other installers I have had at my home this summer, they didn’t blast loud music or talk at the top of their lungs. They also did a thorough job of cleaning up the debris after the job was done.They did a great job and were meticulous with every detail. The windows are perfect for my breezeway, and I am very happy we chose Markin Co.Call Markin Co. for a quote today! Tell them you read my review.

I hired Markin for two jobs: Updating my exterior (soffit, fascia, gutters, siding), and installing a bi-fold door to isolate a poorly insulated three-season room from the rest of my house. I’ve had to deal with pushy sales people in the past, and he is certainly not one of them. It’s good to know that there are still some honest contractors out there.

It's not often when I see an owner of a company on the job as much as he was. His crew was very pleasant and did a great job with the installation and the clean up. I bought 2 new doors in 2020 and just asked about having someone come back to realign one of the doors and the response time was so fast! The door needs to be adjusted due to house settling.
