My home was damaged during a thunderstorm with large hail in May 2022. Chad evaluated the damage done by the storm, and I reported a claim to my insurance company. Chad did a great job working with my insurance company to reach a positive decision about whether or not to pay the claim. I’m 60 miles away from Andover, but Born Carpentry ended up doing some roofing work in my neighborhood this summer. I liked the work they did for my neighbors, so I spoke with Chad a couple of times about my situation and decided to give him the work. His price was fair, and he explained the work clearly. He initially told me it would be spring before they could get my house done, but he figured out a way to get my house into his schedule before the weather turned. Chad and his crew finished the whole job in about five and a half hours. We had the best experience working Born Carpentry. They worked with our insurance company from start to finish for the storm damage to our roof and siding. Sadly our insurance only approved new siding, but after the next hail storm, I will be calling Born. It all started with our several meetings with Chad as we mapped out a remodeling job which ultimately involved siding, a new front door, and remodeling our deck with composite material. Born Carpentry, and Jesse specifically, did an excellent job working with my insurance company, who did NOT want to pay for my hail damage. After two failed attempts working with other roofers Born evaluated our roof and determined the entire roof should be replaced due to the damage. They then got the insurance company to agree (after denying twice) and the claim was finally settled. And that was only the beginning. They kept me informed through the entire process, showed up and completed the job on time and as agreed (1 day), and even did a few extras they weren't required to do. Clean up was also excellent. Highly recommend them for any of your exterior home needs. Jesse and his team went above and beyond my expectations. Definately 5 stars!!!

Tony stopped last fall while I was in the yard and suggested that a number of homes in my neighborhood had extensive hail damage (my roof is way too steep for me to have checked it myself). He was right – he got up there and took a bunch of pictures. Born worked with my insurance company, and I ended up with a new roof, siding, and gutters. In 40 years of home ownership I had never had a claim. I can’t believe how simple and stress-free the entire process was. Their workmanship, follow-up, and communication were excellent. Last summer after a substantial hail storm I had Born carpentry out to do my roof. Everyone I dealt with was awesome to work with throughout the whole thing. The workers were here early both days and stayed long hours to get my roof replaced and cleaned up after themselves. 2 days that is all it took and I especially liked the fact I didn’t have any loose nails in in my driveway when they left. Three of my neighbors had their roofs done by Born carpentry after they saw how my roof was done and the professionalism of the company. The storm chasers absolutely do not compare to this local company that actually cares about making customers happy.

Jesse and Chad went way above and beyond to provide the highest level of customer service and also for the high quality craftsmanship that anyone should expect from a contractor. They handled every insurance adjuster meeting, walked us through the entire process beginning to end, handled all of the paper and made sure everything was done correctly as if it were their own home. They were extremely punctual and flexible with working around what schedule would work best for you. They were upfront about everything. They made repairs that had been underlying issues on a few spots on our house, from shotty work done of the house with a previous owner and without any questions asked and at no additional charge to us. These guys are the best around, I referred them to several neighbors and friends and they all would back me up on everything I say. I won’t trust anyone to repair any part of my house other than Born Carpentry from here on out. Give them a chance and you will be so glad you did.

Meredith and Mike G, IGH, MNWe were hit by a hail storm end of summer 2020, the year nothing was going right (hello COVID). We had several “storm chasers” swing through the neighborhood, offering great service and “lots of money from insurance.”We decided to call about 5 companies on our own and ended up “interviewing” all of them. We still weren’t entirely comfortable with making a decision. This was a big deal to us, our home being our largest investment to date.I happened to mention something to a coworker about this storm. Turns out, she lives in the Lino Lakes area, had been hit with a large storm a few years back, and had nothing but wonderful things to say about Born Carpentry.I called the number listed on the company website and spoke with Chad. I had many questions and he spent nothing short of 45 minutes answering ALL OF THEM. I asked if he would be willing to make the trek south to see the holes in our siding.Chad came out, willing to meet with us in person and give a thorough explanation of the process as we had never experienced something like this.Not only was he willing to take the time to explain the entire process with us, showing us pictures of damage we had not seen, or could not see (gutters, drainpipes, roof, etc), we hadn’t even signed a contract or told him we would work with them, when he insisted on taping our vents for us, knowing we were about to receive more heavy rain the following week.Our insurance company was nothing short of a disaster to work with throughout this process. We even had to switch agents. Chad and Jesse were so patient and supportive throughout all of this. They did that work despite the fact that we had to have three different adjusters come out and waited more than a month for the damage report from the first adjuster (which didn’t even reflect the actual specs/ dimensions of our home)!The crews were professional and provided exceptional results. Chad and/or Jesse stopped by our home DAILY despite it being a long drive from their office. They walked in step beside us through EVERYTHING. Despite shortages and delays on shingles, siding, and other “non-essential” products (per COVID peacetime emergency), Born was on top of it. We had neighbors working with other contractors that were running out of shingles and siding in the middle of work. These other crews even asked Born for any supplies they could “spare.”The roof, siding, gutters, fascia, etc were completed in record time. We couldn’t be more pleased with finished product. We have neighbors that have been sitting with house wrap, waiting for siding for over a month, due to shortages and poor planning.Is this a novel? Yes. Could we write more? Yes.We would never work with another contractor after working with Chad and Jesse of Born Carpentry. We trusted them with our most expensive investment, and they provided service above and beyond what we ever expected, and then some.Thank you so much Chad and Jesse!
