The installer failed to caulk the window above our kitchen sink which allowed rain to enter the kitchen and the all. This required a replacement of the countertop and repair of the wall below the window.Furthermore, the sliding patio door did not function properly and was replaced, then repaired. Also there was apparently no insulation around the upper two corners of the patio door as cold air blew into the dining area through that area.It took nearly two years (just two weeks shy) for everything to be completed.I do NOT recommend this company for any work they perform. Other businesses will undoubtedly charge more for their work, but the savings is not worth the hassle!Service: Casement window installation & replacement

So far my windows are not installed. I’ve been told they only have one installer. He seems to have an attitude problem because of that. I tried to call management for three days They will not call back. They continue to send confusing and contradictory texts and emails. I would never recommend them and wish I could get out of business with them. Unfortunately they have you between a rock and a hard place once they start to produce your windows. Then you are at their mercy.Services: Sliding glass door installation & replacement, Window installation

The window installation was great! The installer was professional, completed the work, and it looks great. The scheduling and coordination of this project was not seamless. From the initial visit to the install took more than 2 months. While we did have access to a project portal for status updates, the information available was very vague. Also outside of the initial visit, I do not believe we interacted with anyone that was local to our area. I'm positive all of the delays will be attributed to supply shortages related to the pandemic.Services: Window installation, Installation

The initial meet and quote was great. Everything (complete scope of the job) was written out for the contract.Within 2 weeks we received a call to schedule install. Install was scheduled, but when the contractor arrived, we were told that he wouldn't be able to complete the job. Within 2 minutes of the arrival, he was gone. We tried getting in contact with the project manager to see what was going on. Already upset that things happened the way it did on the day of the install, getting no answer on the same day made it worse. The next day the project manager called saying that she would give us a call as soon as she knew something. We left her alone for a week. The following week, we called multiple times and left multiple messages. We were then told that she was trying to find another contractor to install the windows and she would give us a call when she did. During the second week we only became more furious. Instead of calling the project manager, we called the sales and service department. When we finally got through to someone, we were told that there was supposedly something scheduled a few days out, but we hadn't received a call. On the day that there was supposedly something scheduled, we called only to leave a voicemail. We then tried calling the district/area manager. That was a call that was never returned. Finally, we tried calling the project manager again, and we were told that the appointment for install would be the following day, and that because it took 3 weeks for the job to get done, we were offered a gift card. We asked for some type of compensation because of the inconvenience. We financed for the windows, and had received our first bill before the windows were even installed. When the windows were installed, one of the windows had to be immediately serviced. We would have given 2 stars, but they did at least try to honor our request for compensation, and the fact that they are nice windows.

Sears did the siding on our home. The two teams who actually did the work were great. Sadly, our project experience was tarnished by terrible project management. Our project manager was disorganized and never seemed to know what was going on. She'd confirm dates with me and then no one would show. I'd have to call her and ask about the status. I'd ask her to confirm dates with me in writing and then she just wouldn't. Towards the end of the project, she wouldn't even return calls anymore. She'd have the guys doing the work call me instead. We signed the contract in April and the project wasn't complete until the end of July.

I got nothing but excuses and delays from Sears. Terrible experience.I won't ever hire Sears home improvement for any project again.Signed contract on September 27th.Was told the job would start in 1 week and I should hear from ourproject manager before then.No contact until I called them on October 26th.Was told that our materials had been backordered, but should be in next week.Didn't hear anything until November 8th when I got an e-mailcommitting to starting the project on November 16th.On November 15th, I sent a confirmation e-mail at which time I wastold there was a problem with the permit which would delay start (noidea how they could have expected to start within a week afterSeptember 27th, but somehow 6 weeks later they still hadn't gotten thepermit - like many of the other delays, this just felt like an excuseto me).On November 17th I was told that the permit had been obtained, but nowthe work crew wouldn't start until after the holiday (Thanksgiving)After the holiday, Friday, November 25th I e-mailed and called bothmy project manager's work number and cell number and didn't get aresponse from her for 4 days.I called the receptionist and asked for the name and contactinformation for her supervisor. The receptionist refused to give methis information. The project manager called back minutes after this call. She now claimed December 12th is the soonest the job could start. She got rude with me that "after Thanksgiving" didn't mean right after(I guess she thought that some time between Thanksgiving and the endof time was enough information for me).I demanded her supervisors information, got him on the phone later that day.He heard me out, set up a work crew to start right away - which they did.The work crew was one guy who couldn't speak English. He was a hardworker and did good work, but couldn't give me information such as thetimeline of the project.By the time the work was complete, I was out of town for the Christmasholidays. They tried to get me to approve the work based on photosthey sent - it turned out there were issues they'd hidden from thephotos. I saw these once I got back to inspect the property, wascertainly glad that I hadn't signed their completion certificate andsent them the issues that still needed to be resolved. At the end of the project, a railing that had been cut away to installsiding wasn't replaced, parts of the lawn were torn up and a windowhad been broken. The project manager tried to claim that it was an inside window thathad been broken - it wasn't - the screen was pierced and the windowhad been broken. Luckily I'd taken photos at the start of the job andthey showed the window was unbroken then.Project manager said they couldn't fix it that day, but they wantedthe signed completion certificate. After I repeatedly told them Iwanted them to fix it before I signed the certificate, they offered mea low-ball $100 for the broken window. In order to be done with them, I accepted $200 and now I'm having toarrange for repairs for damage that they've done to my property.Never again!

Together with sears we scheduled the windows to be installed Sept 18 - Sept 20th. The where finally installed November 9th after working all day until dark. We were promised by the salesman that we wouldn't even know that anyone had been in our house. What a joke that was. I'm still repairing damage to the drywall inside the window boxes caused by lack of knowledge on how to use a sawzall by all the installers except for Rick. He did a good job. Also the front window was badly manufactured and a replacement has been on order for about 6 weeks.

I will never let Sears do another project for me. They are nothing like the appliance service part of Sears, which is why we went with them in the first place. When our shower curtain bar was hung too high their solution was not to correct the problem was for us to hang a different shower curtain and liner. We were charged over 700.00 for a 150.00 shower head and faucet. When I question them on it, I was told that it was labor to install it. Even with my math I bet that it would equate to roughly 2 days worth of labor. So you can bet that even with all those discounts they get their money back.

Had a little trouble with the initial crew being out liscence so they couldnt do it but the person my project manager then assigned the job to did a wonderful job. 11 window in 3 days. Installed, insulated and sealed, and flashing/cowling finished all in 3 days. Very impressed and will use again.

Measurements were incorrect which caused more internal work for us. Plus we were told 1 thing by installer and something different by project manager. We were also told by sales team that all the windows would be cleaned by installer, installer said no th they've never done that. It was a headache.

Sears home improvement is taking advantage of people and their lack of knowledge in home improvement they use the same products as other local contractors but at much higher costs and their warranties will not hold. Please read the fine print.
