Jay is a talented builder, a wonderful communicator, and a hard worker. He renovated my father-in-law’s house and came in under budget and wouldn’t rest until the job was done right. He made the whole process feel straightforward and seamless. I especially liked how upfront he was about everything. He always made sure that i knew what he was planning ahead of time and that I was happy with his work. He treated the inevitable surprises of working on an old building with a sense creativity and enthusiasm. He is now the first person I call for anything from masonry to finish carpentry. An absolute pleasure to work with.

We received Jay's publicity at a time when we were overwhelmed with "this Old House's " never ending projects. And we already knew Jay's wonderful family. What a Godsend he has been! Our Lakefront homes are in constant need of repair and seasonal care. We are in and out of town, and knowing Jay is there in our place is like having a family member with great skills and sound judgement to manage issues as they arise. Jay has completed three projects of increasing size and complexity for us: Replacing five windows; insulating and drywalling a two-car garage; and most recently a tricky conversion of an open breezeway into a 200 SF mudroom, plus some hardscaping. We had some issues with our home after a storm. Jay was immediately responsive to my communications and wasted no time coming out to our property to check out our issues. He was professional, kind, and honest - even talked with my elderly father for a good spell. Most importantly: he got the job done.
