Such a professional crew! I had kitchen cabinets repainted aiming for a more updated look. I was apprehensive of how well the paint job will come out and I certainly did not want a “home made look”. Well, the results are stunning, I love how the paint job turned out! The crew was very clean and experienced. Alex, the supervisor on the job kept in constant contact with me, which I really appreciated it. Stopped by every morning to go over things etc. They showed when they say they would or updated me otherwise. I’m very pleased.

Alex and his team were exceptional to work with! Their price was right on target. We had them put in chair rails and crown molding throughout our home. And then painted our house tip to tail. We had some moving constraints and asked if they could move faster than anticipated. Alex was wonderful and magically finished a few days early. They were exceptional to work with!

Overall, I’m very pleased with the work that Gikas provided for my home. George is very knowledgeable about older homes such as mine and upon review of my home made several recommendations . My project was basically a restoration of my nearly 100 year old home- new roof, and gutters. new back deck off my screen porch , new window boxes, restoration of my garage and new paint. George was helpful with my roof and gutter selection and I’m so happy I went with the Owens Corning Duration line. Alex was very helpful and professional and listened to my needs.He made several suggestions regarding the colors for the house and in the end I am very pleased. As seen in some of the before after photos, my house went through quite a transformation! We are so pleased with the painting and carpentry work performed by Gikas on the exterior of our home and garage. The addition of a portico and railings was the vision of the Gikas Contractor, Niko. It adds so much charm to our home. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations. The carpenters and painters and gutter installers showed fine workmanship, efficiency and respect for our home. I highly recommend Gikas and team if you need contracting and painting work. My house is 100 years old and I needed my 3 bedrooms updated to fix wall imperfections, add recessed lighting, sheetrock, floor refinish, extend a closet and paint.Gikas was the first company I called..After dealing with Luis to give me my estimate and explained the work needed I felt I didn’t need to shop around for other estimates. Luis was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, understood my wants and put the project in motion. He followed through on his appointments and updated me every step of the way. SNAPSHOT REVIEWWe just did three projects with Gikas and I highly recommend them. Working with them was easy, the prices were great, and the customer service was second to none. Communicating with Jorge and Alex (for painting) was as easy as could be. I really appreciated the time, attention and effort Gikas took in order to make our house beautiful again. George walked around our century-old house with us, was precise about which boards needed replacing, how they would strip & lead-mitigate, even a few good landscaping ideas. The bid was less than we expected for all that work! Alex led the crew, helped us pick colors, kept us posted on progress, and was a very cheerful presence. He came back to insist on touch-ups. Top notch painting and service! Niko was our project manager and was there every step of the way, helping to guide us from selecting the paint color, to all the details of the project. Once we selected the color, the painting itself was relatively quick, the only delays we had were due to weather. Gikas team did a nice job cleaning everything up when finished, and even returned for a couple of minor touch ups to make sure everything was perfect. We love our paint color (Stormy Sky - a dark gray with blue undertone) and have gotten many compliments from neighbors on the new look of the house!

Gikas sanded and stained my entire back deck and did an incredible job. Alex who was the foreman was easy to communicate with and very responsive. The deck is hardwood and needed a few pieces replaced and Alex sourced them as well. Maybe we were just unlucky during the pandemic, but the crew didn’t do a good job and the first project manager was worse. We had to clarify multiple aspects of the project (since even the floors, chimney and stairs were missing in the estimate). Then, we forgot to clarify for the columns and it was a big discussion to have them done. We had to pay extra in the end.They came back many times to correct issues but it was a very long and painful process. It took them one year to correct the errors and at the end, the new crew was a lot better. We also asked for a new project manager who was also better.Meanwhile, when it’s done badly the first time, you keep having endless problems. As you can see on the picture (20 months later), there was no preparation before painting the deck. Half deck initially peeled in 2 months. They came back and redid it but they didn’t do the sides of the deck again.I’m sure I’ll keep finding problems going ahead. Again, maybe I just got a very bad crew with no supervision, but man, that was rough.

Overall, great experience with Gikas painting! Had contracted them out to paint our home and noticed some trouble spots (peeling) after about a year. Not only did they honor their warranty, but the service was the same great experience from the first time around. Make sure to ask for Alex, he knew exactly what needed to be done and was extremely responsive and professional through each interaction. Big credit goes out to the crew as well, they did an amazing job and always leave the job site clean.

Overall: Gikas will give the outside of your home what it needs. That means "what the house needs," which is not always the same as "what you want to do" or "what a contractor would love you to pay for."We did a complete exterior renovation with Gikas. This included extensive carpentry work as the home has been horribly mistreated over the last 60 years or so. The before and after don't really do it justice—window sills and decorative elements had been smashed off to make way for awful yellow aluminum siding that ruined the exterior proportions and angles. We took off all the siding and took it back to square one. While replacing all the decorative elements would have been far too expensive, I feel like we did right by the house. Alex acted as the foreman for the project, and George the owner of the company would stop by from time to time.Two things stood out for me. 1) The attention that went into making the new carpentry match the existing (115 years old). They did this by using salvaged lumber, which comes in dimensions you can't get anymore, and by applying their extensive experience with homes of the period. They have a couple of carpenters who are really talented, particularly when it comes to building porches. One of them replicated all the pieces of a round porch column using a miter saw, and it was a sight to behold.2) Alex was very responsive and communicative, which is a nice change from many contractors, who disappear on you. We did the project in the winter (good timing) to make the home ready for sale. Even with weather uncertainty we were able to finish most of the work shortly before COVID hit, and then there were just a few touchups, which could be completed with social distancing. The communication and scheduling was key to completing on time.3) I solicited multiple bids and ultimately Gikas gave me a little more value, throwing in some badly needed porch repairs that make a big difference in the home's overall look. With any construction project, there are cost overruns, but they did it on the agreed-upon budget (I added on a new back porch that wasn't originally in the scope, and some additional shingled areas, which amounted to about a 3% increase in the overall budget). That made me feel good in the end about selecting Gikas.
