The professionalism and communication was nothing like we've ever experienced with any other business. From the initial meeting, they described the process for planning and execution of the work, the communication process (which was a weekly video call), and educated us on local requirements and regulations. The quality of their work was excellent. They conducted thorough research to address things that we wanted to include and made recommendations that worked well. The level of professionalism was superior. During the weekly call, we reviewed the status and scope of the work, any outstanding issues, and the status of the budget. When we added to the scope of work, each modification was clearly described, costs were analyzed and documented, and were sent to us for electronic approval in a seamless manner. West Village must be one of if not the best contractor in New York. I hired them to complete a total renovation of my apartment after a building-wide flood and received my home better than it was before the water damage. Throughout the project the team had multiple touch points with us including a weekly video call to discuss progress & next steps and weekly summaries of work completed. They were thoughtful in sourcing materials and provided excellent recommendationss as we considered modifications throughout the space. The work was completed not only ahead of schedule, but also within budget, which was crucial given this was an insurance claim. The quality of the work exceeded expectations and the positive attitude of the team made the entire process stress-free.Any future construction projects I need will be awarded to them!

They did a major renovation on our apartment, which was subsequently featured on a Dwell home tour, and in New York Magazine's "Design Hunting." Their craftsmanship is top notch. West Village Contractors are the only contractors we have worked with over the years who have integrity and take great pride in their work...a lost art for the most part -- but not with these guys. The first time we worked with them, they came in after a flood and redid the entire ceiling (and living area) which is quite a feat considering our ceiling is a piece of art in itself (with sharp angles and lines jutting out to delineate the dining area). Their precision was astounding and it ended up looking cleaner and of higher quality than the first time around.We used them again to replace the cabinets in our kitchen. They made sure every detail was EXACTLY as we asked -- and we are quite picky to say the least. Our loft is a modern space featured in Dwell Magazine - and we worry that contractors won't respect that we really care about each and every detail that the architect created. It might seem silly to some, but to us -- our apt is a part of who we are -- and the fact that West Village respects that means we would never use anyone else.Every day the team left our apt. completely clean -- always making sure everything was covered correctly and that they didn't damage anything while working. If there was anything a hair out of place, they fixed it. They were polite and professional. You can't get better than West Village.

Unbelievable team that kept me in the loop every step of the way, from the initial proposal, throughout the demo, until the final walk through. Very helpful in guiding me through this renovation process which can be quite stressful, but our Site Supervisor was extremely helpful, professional, informative, and pleasant, we felt at ease. Additionally, the job site was always tidy and clean at the end of the day. The best part was, the renovation finished on time and on budget. Every time my clients ask for a contractor for renovations, I tell them my top recommendation by far is West Village General Contracting. Every client has reported construction was done on time, on budget, their expectations were managed, all work was done to perfection and WVGC would come back as many times as requested for tweaks or refinements without question, and their customer service and care was beyond their expectations and what they experienced in the past. I do not know of another contractor with such rave reviews. I have personally seen some of WVGC’s finished renovations and down to the smallest detail, their work is stunning.

When I first met James I didn't know how to take him. He was one of 4 contractors I had come through my new co-op in Tribeca. Everyone else nodded their heads and agreed with what I was showing them then quoted on the job.James walked in, I showed him what I was going to do and he started asking really probing questions. He asked me what my priorities are, why I was doing what I was doing and then asked if he could make some suggestions.I was curious so I let him speak. I expected that he was going to up-sell me, but he stared making suggestions to decrease the scope of work and not increase it! He was interested in me getting value from what I was doing and clearly he had a great deal of experience to draw from.James doesn't 'look like a contractor' when you meet him. He doesn't act like the typical contractor either. He's polished and when he meets with you he's early. His whole team shows up early for meetings! It's such a refreshing change to the industry.I'm a developer and I hired James for my own apartment renovation, I'm so glad that I did. You won't be disappointed if you do.
