I’ve lived here since January and I am extremely pleased with the experience. Katherine is SO kind and has been pleasure to work with since day 1 of inquiring about Luckey Platt until now. Maintenance crew is super helpful & responsive! All problems are fixed in a timely manner and while the building continues updating the exterior of the building as well as the community interior areas, the apartments are fully updated and beautiful and maintenance continues to keep the common areas clean even through the obstacles of the aforementioned updates. To be quite honest, it seems like the negative reviews are from disgruntled ex-tenants who continued to disregard their leases and the community guidelines. The lease terms are clear and what is expected of tenants is simple and it’s no different than any other apartment property complex in that sense.

Seems to be a nice building. I work close by. Their dogs are always pooping and peeing on our property. A lot of police activity. I spoke with a few residents coming out of the building , I was informed they have issues with rodents and roaches. I was looking for a new apartment but this changed my mind.I don't like how people contain using our parking lot as a dog dump for their bathroom needs. The site pictures look nice and I would hope for the price they are charging that the apartments are kept up.

Beautiful apartments - very lucky to have a responsive maintenance crew in Hakim and Malik. There was a recurring leak in my original unit that they were able to figure out was coming from the floor above. The maintenance team advocated for me to move upstairs to a bigger unit while they did the hard work to take care of the leak. The admin team was honorable and didn’t charge any extra rent nor a transfer fee. That leak is now fixed permanently and new residents live in that apartment. Thankful for the team and for the time I’ve spent here!

The gym may look nice in pictures, but they are missing lots of necessary equipment! When I brought this up with management I was told “you have to use what we have”. I told them there are a couple machines that are UNUSABLE. Still they did nothing. Really disconcerting that even after all the money we pay in rent, they can’t provide us with necessary equipment. Also the fire alarm goes off MULTIPLE TIMES EVERY WEEK. This place is a disaster and poorly run. Do not live here. And no matter what they respond publicly on here, they will NEVER do anything to fix the problems.

These apartments are amazing. They have all the amenities I inquired about while apartment hunting as well as prime location in the heart of Poughkeepsie. I'll give the Management and Maintenance an A+. Katherine is very attentive to needs and responds within a timely fashion to any and all issues. Hakim and Malik are superstars when it comes to ensuring any maintenance request issues are resolved as well as going above and beyond to ensuring it is done correct and professionally. All in all, I highly recommend the Lucky Platt.

I am leaving 5 stars for the maintenance guys. I have been here two years now and I can say with certainty that I wouldn’t likely live here if it wasn’t for those two. Hakim and Malik have always been phenomenally helpful and timely. I know that they are always quick to deal with any human issues as well.

My experience here has been great. Any time there is a maintenance issue Hakeem and malik are there right away. They are always professional and polite. They help a great deal in my comfort in living in this building.

I’ve been a tenant in other buildings but have never had the stellar attention to detail and customer service provided by the maintenance group. They respond immediately to my calls and are professional as well as compassionate. Thank you maintenance team! 🤓

We have lived here for almost year and have not had a good experience. The fire alarm goes off all the time (sometimes in the middle of the night) and the hallways and common areas are dirty. Our biggest issue has been with maintenance. We had a leak under our bathroom sink that we had to ask 4 times to get fixed before they permanently fixed it. There is still a leak in our bathroom ceiling that they have only patched multiple times. The washing machines on our floor are constantly broken and the last time I requested they be fixed the response I got was that there are 4 other floors for me to use to wash my clothes. And then they wanted to raise our rent $500 for the next year. Why would I pay more money for this? The apartment itself is ok and we would have likely stayed here for another year if it weren’t for these issues.

I've lived here for one year now and here some takeaways!First, the biggest shoutout goes to Hakim and Mahlik the maintenance staff at Luckey platt. They always greet their residents, are prompt in addressing issues within units, and work very hard to keep LP clean. The community would not be the same without them. The pros of living in LP are as follows. The building is not in the safest of areas. However as a young woman living here, I have never felt unsafe walking around inside. That being said, I would exercise caution especially when going out at night. The building is very hard to enter if you are not a resident and requires multiple codes and apps! This keeps out those with ill intent and unfortunate Uber Eats drivers. The office staff are always prompt in responding to concerns and questions over email regarding monthly payments or general information. The units are newly renovated and if well maintained, have a clean and polished look. The cons of living here are the fire alarms. We have had multiple emails stating that the fire alarms work properly so it is baffling to me that so many residents are smoking or burning food in their units. That being said, the alarm is very loud and can go off multiple times during the day or night. If you are looking to do remote work with conference calls and such, be aware of this!

Lived here for a little over 8 months. Not a great place to live especially for the price you are paying. While the people who work here are great, they are obviously not being equipped with the means to produce a great living environment for the price being paid. The buildings maintenance crew deserve a medal because they keep the place as good as possible- which is definitely a struggle. I want to commend them because they really do a great job with what they have.My thoughts on my 8 months living here; The fire alarm will go off sometimes 3-4 times a week. It will be at all hours as well, so if you dislike being woken up once a week at 3 am because of a fire alarm this is not the place for you.If you do not like/or are fearful of bigger dog breeds this also is not the place for you. The lease agreement says specific types of dogs like pitbulls and more are not permitted in the building…. Yet you will see a pitbull or german shepherd everyday. I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere if you have children living with you because of the dog issue. I can count numerous occasions people would have to hold their untrained pitbull back while it barked at me or another resident just simply walking by. On top of this, dogs would pee in the elevators all the time, and owners didn’t clean them up. Kind of shows what your dealing with in terms of who’s living around you.The area around Luckey Platt is also not safe at all despite the efforts to make it look safe. Used needles, and other drug paraphernalia are all over the streets and city parking areas. Specifically the academy street exit. The fact that the building owners are getting away with charging upwards of $2,000 for studio apartments is just insane. I was in a brutal time crunch to get housing for grad school so I made the decision to live here because there were multiple units available… I see why that was the case now! If I could go back I would have 100% lived somewhere else and not spent almost $2k a month on a place that is simply not even remotely worth that price. All that being said, I really believe that the management within the building and maintenance crew of this building are awesome and they do the best job they can. I just want the next person looking to rent to be able to get an honest review.

I have been at Luckey Platt for a year now. The staff in the leasing office have been amazing. Any concerns or questions they are always there to listen. The building amenities have improved immensely since I have moved in. The best thing about this building is the apartment itself. They are huge, brand new appliances, very private. The building is also very clean. The security is top tier. Very pleased with my experience here. The only reason I give it a 4 is because the area itself could be a little dangerous especially at night as a young single woman and because the fire alarms go off often. Besides that it would be a 5/5 for me.

tl;dr: They tried to steal almost $400 dollars from me when I moved out. My car (as well as 4 other residents' cars) got broken into and they did nothing. The fire alarms go off constantly. Don't live here.Absolutely awful. For what you have to pay to live here, it's not even close to worth it.The fire alarms go off constantly, to the point where most residents do not leave their apartments when the alarm goes off. This is a safety hazard, of course, but when the fire alarm is going off multiple times a week, it's impossible to know when there's a legitimate emergency. The worst was when it went off 4x in one day, and there's been multiple times that it went off at 4am. Apparently this has been going on for years. I know it went on for the entirety of the year I lived there. The rent is exorbitant, and on top of rent, they'll charge hundreds in utilities. My one bedroom apartment was $1783, but I ended up paying $1970-$2050 every month in utilities (not including electricity and parking, which added an additional $80 or so a month). The only parking available is one of the very limited spots in front of the building (for a fee, of course) or in the municipal lot across the street. My car was broken into in the municipal lot (that you have to pay $32 a month to use), and after talking to other residents, many people have had their cars broken into there. There is no option for safe parking. When I informed Luckey Platt my car had been broken into, they said they would check the security cameras and never got back to me. They do not seem to care about the fact that there is no safe parking in the area. Finally, the worst thing, was that I almost lost $373 due to a clerical error Luckey Platt made when I moved out, and I only got paid the money I was owed after I caught the mistake and had to argue with management to get it back. The last month I lived at Luckey Platt, I was overcharged for a whole month of rent/utilities, when my lease was ending on the 13th. Management assured me I would be reimbursed what I was owed, but when they went to reimburse me, they tried to reimburse me $373 less than what they owed me. (I paid $1977 total for rent and utilities for May, I was owed back $1111.93 plus the security deposit, they tried to pay me back only $634 plus security). When I called them about this, I was told multiple times that I was wrong, I wasn't owed that much money, the amount they were paying me was the correct amount. As someone with a strong math background, I knew this wasn't right, so I broke down all the math and sent it back to them. After about a week, they finally confirmed that I was right, and I was owed the additional $373. I was never given an apology for the fact that I almost lost $373 due to their negligence, nor for how I was told multiple times on the phone that I was wrong. This is insanely unprofessional and unacceptable. I've now taken to warning everyone I know who still lives at Luckey Platt to double check all their reimbursement amounts, because I don't want this to happen to anyone else who lives there. The few positives of living here: the apartments are very pretty, and the maintenance team is wonderful. They are incredibly attentive and professional. But personally, those pros do not outweigh the cons in the slightest. The apartment looks great on paper. But the fees sneak up on you, your car will get broken into, the fire alarm will go off all the time, and heck, they might just try to keep $373 of the money they owe you. It's not worth it.

I lived at Luckey Platt for 2 years. Although it was not one of my best experiences, one of the positives was the maintenance crew Hakim and Mahlik. Both of them are very responsive and a pleasure to work worth.

This review is for the Maintenance Team, Hakim and Mahlik, and they deserve all 5 stars. Since relocating to Luckey Platt I have consulted them for information on apartment details as well as several standard and custom maintenance requests. They are both professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and quick to remedy any and all issues.-They greet the residents at every interaction/meeting in the halls, elevators, entry, and take time to learn names and check back on work completed.-Before an aging family member came for holiday visits, I asked if a grab bar and handheld showerhead could be installed: both tasks were done cleanly, securely, and in only one day. My family member felt safe and was able to feel at home because Hakim and Mahlik made it possible. In a new environment with new protocols, spaces, etc., it is reassuring to know that these two men are the ones who will be called in the event that anything is needed or repairs need to be made. I wish I could rate them higher because they make a huge difference every day that they are on site.

I have tried calling and emailing the management office multiple times, even dropped by during posted operating hours, and have not been able to get in touch with a soul - I received one singular computer generated email that says my request was received and someone will be in touch with me. There is even a sign with a "Now Leasing" outside the building pointing you to go to the door. If you aren't actually going to assist people, or you aren't interested in leasing, update your website, signage, and postings that state otherwise.

The maintenance staff at Luckey Platt is exceptional! Head Porter Abdul Hakim, since the very beginning of our residence, has always extended and loaned a helping hand, even when not ask to do so. The few times we have placed a maintenance order, he, and his staff, have responded within a reasonable time, and always conclude with a resolution. Hakim carries himself with an excellent professional demeanor, and Luckey Platt is fortunate to have him. His assistant, Mahlik, is also a pleasant staff member. He also, carries himself professionally, and is always visiblyat work non-stop. As a new resident, I certainly recognize and appreciate the maintenance staff, especially, in light of how much of a large work load they seem to carry, with limited man power. With regards to the new office manager, Katherine, she is a delight! The first week she occupied the 3rd floor office, she immediately was of great assistance to my wife and I, and it was apparent, that she was quite adept, professional, and pleasant. Overall, we are enjoying a pleasant residence here at Luckey Platt. We are happy to see that management is making efforts in renovations to units and future amenities. Although, I'm certain the tenants at Luckey Platt would be happy to see the building renovations expedited.

My resident experience has been good! I love the amenities the building offers, the convenience of the door codes, and the size of the apartment. It’s also really great to see the lobby coming along. The only drawback is the fire alarm system. If one fire alarm goes off, they all go off. It makes it difficult for me because I am a remote worker. It’s to the point where I’ve had to inform my job of the possible noise disturbance during work hours. Although it’s one drawback, it affects me greatly.

I loved my experience touring Luckey Platt. The leasing manager I met with, Briana, was very informative and pleasant to tour with. The building is still under construction but the units that are ready are just amazing and all the amenities they are adding will make you not want to leave. The units all had a lot of natural light and very modern. And not to mention the location! You are in the center of everything, which makes the views simply beautiful and picturesque!

The building is clean and well maintained, staff members are friendly and diligent in their work. You can tell they take pride in keeping the outside and inside of the building clean. I ran into one gentleman fixing the elevator recently and he was very kind and welcoming. I believe his name was Hakim we had a wonderful conversation and he even told me about his two dogs he has at home. I love dogs!

I visited the Luckey Platt when I was considering a position in Poughkeepsie. The apartments were magnificent and I loved the one with the spiral staircase, lots of natural lighting and the amenities they are planning are top notch. I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the.building and how well maintained the grounds were. After a conversation with one of the tenants I learned that the maintenance supervisor and staff do an amazing job. Unfortunately, I did not take the position, but would love to live at this wonderful development.

I've been living here for two years and suddenly they want to increase my rent by $377 per month, have added an air conditioner/heater they expect us to use and now pay for heat (I had not needed to pay for heat previously at all as there's no control in my unit, so naturally I'm not going to be happy with paying for yet another monthly expense with zero warning that this is how things are going to go).Last year, my rent only bumped up $49 and I can only say the difference is who is managing this place. These people can not be trusted. If you don't mind throwing your money away so that people can get dog wash stations and a barbershop downstairs, be my guest. I'll give it that things are pretty and secure, but that does not justify the greed and ill thought. At least the maintenance staff is always on point, which is why I'm giving the extra star.

The buildfing has improved 100% since being under the new ownership and management, The maintenance staff especially Hakim and Maylik are exceptional. They always take care of their tenants and always take care of the property grounds. The Management team is also very attentive to the tenants' needs. Keep up the good work.

This review is for the maintenance staff: We’ve lived in this building for a little over a year, during the brunt of the construction. And while there have been fits and starts and frustrations along with way, the one consistent element is the porter/maintenance staff. Hakim, Malik, and John are the most helpful people and really work to make sure that your needs are met and your experience living in the building is a positive one. From simple maintenance requests to unit/building emergencies, they cover it all and then some - always with a smile and a kind word. This place would fall apart without them! Thanks Hakim and team for your attention and dedication!
