Al from Atlantic construction just told me that this is “cosmetic” and not structural so they won’t fix it.Atlantic built the poles too close and the stuff just hangs off on most of the units in the townhouse complex and looks AWFUL.And Atlantic is saying that THIS is acceptable. THIS is what they stand by. Very poor workmanship and zero accountability. This is a microcosm of our experience with Atlantic construction.THEY make mistakes and then tell us that they aren’t responsible for.Remember this if you choose Atlantic to build your home.This is not to mention the fact that we were told 3 months to complete our home which turned into 17.5 months. 3 missed deadlines that they themselves set.In the process we lost out interest rate of 2.8% which climbed to 5.8% by the time they were finished. We were very excited to move into our new home — but by the end it had unfortunately become just a headache.There was never any apology or explanation for anything.

Atlantic Construction built our dream home and we could not be happier! Everything was done on time and with excellent quality! Between the superintendent, the subcontractors, and the realtor, we had excellent service throughout the entire process. Atlantic was very responsive to our needs and if this wasn’t our forever home, we would definitely use them again! Highly recommend to anyone looking to build a new home.

The staff and employees at Atlantic Construction were amazing. They were very helpful in directing us through the building process. As first time home builders, there were a lot of questions that they were able to answer for us. They had many options with different prices to help me keep the project within our budget. They were very helpful in guiding me and directing me through the building process. When I was confused or not understanding something they took the time to explain it to me. I found them to be very fair with their pricing. They had many options with different prices to help me keep the project within my budget. They staff was VERY helpful throughout the whole process. Wish I could put 0 stars. Horrible builder, and horrible company! We bought our house May 2023, since then we have had a water build up problem under the house. They finally came out to attempt to fix by resealing the concrete foundation.water is still running under the house. So today they sent someone out again and they believe there is a foundation issue because water is seeping up from under the ground. LEE came and said there isn't any damage and water is supposed to be under the house. And that they can't do anything about it.

Me and wife are so happy we chose Atlantic Construction for our custom home. Lee, our project manager, was with us throughout the process and kept us well informed. The finished home exceeded our expectations. Biggest reason for 5 stars is after we moved in and house was ours, they have been very prompt to fix or figure out any issues that have come up. I couldn't imagine another contractor, especially in their price range, providing a better home and better service before, during, and after. Thank you Atlantic Construction!

Atlantic Construction brought our plans to life and did a phenomenal job. When it's the biggest investment of your life, put the contract with a company you can trust! I would recommend them 100 times over! They were easy to work with and organized, you can tell that they do this process pretty regularly. Their contractors were easy to work with and their man handling our job site, Lee Huffman, did a great job keeping us in the loop throughout the entire process!

The absolute worst builder I've ever come across. We live in Benson in the Beaver Creek Subdivision. We moved there in December of 2021. We were told to create a punch list throughout the first year of owning our home to do at one years time which would have been 2022. Keep in mind this was in our contract we signed that was agreed to by Atlantic Construction. We sent this punch list to Danny and Mrs Betty Bullock in December of 2022 and to this date Jan 3rd of 2024 none of that punch list has been done. The only thing they attempted was they sent someone to fix nail pops and blemishes in the sheet rock of our walls. The guy they sent came out and attempted to rig it by just painting over the nails instead of mudding sanding and painting like he was supposed to. Since then nothing from them even after repeated calls to their office and emails to them. But they have the audacity to demand HOA fees from everyone in the neighborhood even tho they leave the yards of houses unsold uncut, the temporary roads that they were supposed to come back and put in permanent ones and the list goes on. This builder cares nothing about the people that buy their homes all they care about is their money. Do not buy from them.

For the rest of my life, I will tell anyone that will listen how bad my experience with Atlantic construction has been. We signed our purchase agreement the beginning of October 2020 based of the Zillow posting which was only a floor plan with an expected completion date of January 22, 2021. My wife and I accepted that bit of risk because they had never built the floor plan before so they did not have any comp photos but it was being built from scratch so we figured any minor things could be addressed as we went. At the end of October, we set up a meeting to look at customization options that came with a new build such as siding and cabinets, so my wife went alone while I went to work. When we got there, she was pressured into making decisions that day by the Atlantic’s Realtor, Scott Furtney, “so we can make sure it gets ordered and is available.” This statement became slightly comical when in February we got a call saying the stone we selected was not available. So, the months of November and December go by with absolutely no progress on our house with no updates from Atlantic or our Realtor Charles Hayward. The only way we got updates was by physically driving by to see if any progress had been made from the slab that was poured Mid-October. It was not till January 4th that walls started to go up. I will give Atlantic some credit: they were fast. Within a week the walls were up, roof on, and sheetrock was being hung. It was at this point that WE discovered (not that we got told by anyone) that the house was going to be 100 sq ft smaller than advertised. When we confronted them on this topic, we were told that when the structural engineers did their once over, they had to make changes due to “code” factors. They did not think that the loss of 100 sq ft should change the price in the house. At the end of January, we were informed that the February 15th Closing date originally agreed upon was not going to happen and that if we were lucky the house would be completed by that date. We would now close after the inspections by maybe the end of February. The month of February passed with us having to pull information from Atlantic or by physically driving by the house weekly to see the progress. Around the end of February when the house was still weeks from being done. The appraiser came through and appraised the house at $7,000 less than what we originally agreed on, probably due to the 100 sq ft smaller size, which was in their favor when you consider the price per square foot put 100 sq ft valued at about $10,000. Because we used the VA loan program, we could not pay more than the house was worth, nor would we do that. When this was brought up to Atlantic, they said they could not and would not drop down to the appraised value but would meet us in the middle, this was due to them not thinking the appraiser took COVID material prices into account. I find this particularly comical in that the building permits were submitted September of 2020 when COVID had been a think for six months. We ended up sacrificing some of our closing cash when we were told that there had already been a buyer back out in neighborhood for a similar issue with the final appraised value and that the house had been resold for more than the asking price within 48hr of being back on the market. We were finally able to do our walk through two days before closing. The most disturbing part of all of this is that out of all the people in the neighborhood we have spoken to which at this point is most of them, we have not found a single person who had a positive experience with Atlantic, Al, or Scott which is nearly 40 houses. We met Atlantic builders in March 2019 after our realtor that was listing our home at the time told us about them. Since we were looking, she introduced us to them. We decided to write our review now (1 month after moving in) to tell people how pleased we have been with this whole group of people & how great of a job they did for us! Every one of them have been so kind, hard working & friendly from the day we chose them as our builder to even now, 4 weeks after we've moved in. These guys went over & above the normal expected work duties many times & we appreciated every bit of it!We had our home built just 3 miles away from the house we were in so it was very easy for us to drive by & watch it going up pretty much every single day! We were very excited of course! We made sure not to bother any of the workers or walk onto the property unless Josh, the Site Supervisor, was with us. We respected the workers space but it was just fun for us to drive by & see it taking shape almost daily. Josh was awesome & kept us posted on many different things. We learned quickly that the house got inspected constantly it seemed, which actually made us feel good because we knew everyone had to do their jobs right to pass each inspection to move on to the next step.We chose the Connie plan & love it!  We had a few small mishaps along the way but nothing bad & nothing they weren't right on it to fix! I saw someone post being upset about a broken screen on a window, really? Honestly, as well as we know them all now & how they work, if we saw something that's not right we don't even worry about it because we know they will fix it! Small issues here & there on building a whole house is normal I think. This is our 3rd home we've had built in 25 years & Atlantic has been the best so far with the smoothest transition of all.They helped us get in right before hurricane Dorian came through & we actually went through a tornado that Dorian spawned. Went right over us! We were so happy to see that our brand new home didn't lose a shingle or a piece of siding or anything through all that. The tornado is the only thing that caused some damage on our street but our home stood strong & stayed perfect!I know this was a long review but they deserve it! I know people look at reviews, like we do & some make decisions based on the reviews so we just wanted to say that we highly recommend them! We have a beautiful home & we also want to give a HUGE shout out to Josh! He is one hard worker no doubt & will take great care of you & look out for you every step of the way! They all will!If you're looking at these guys to build your home & your reading this, definitely do like we did & consider how little negative reviews they really have compared to how many hundreds of homes they've built & are still building now. In that big picture, the reviews are great & these guys are amazing,. We found this company to be honest & hard working & there's a reason they've been around so long & have built so many homes! :)

FIRST TIME HOME OWNER/BUYERThe joy of building my dream home is being ruined. I asked a simple question with vague and rude responses. If you're building my house and want money upfront what's so hard about explaining the amount of the fee or providing simple measurements for upgrades so that your customer can compare and ensure that's the right path they would like to take. I understand that we are in a pandemic and demands are high but really. I am a disable veteran and do not want to be taking advantage of that's all. It should be within my rights. I hope this matter can be resolved in a timely manner or at least get some clear understanding about your companies practices.Update on 23MAR21.I received a phone call from one of the owners who was more than willing to answer my questions. He promised to find out more about my situation/concerns and called back with results. He went above and beyond to clear of any confusion or miscommunication. I am more than pleased and can't wait to see the finishedproduct. Thank you again for your help.Update as 4OCT2021Prior to closing my realtor and I did a walkthrough with the building superintendent and several things were pointed out, my realtor also spoke and sent over a list of things to Erin that needed to be fixed that independent inspector noticed. My original close date was 17SEPT2021 and was pushed out a week because of the loan officer. Due to the delay of closing which was 1 full week it should have given Atlantic Construction time to correct the issues. Fast forward I closed on 24SEPT2021 I’m still moving in and find that the tub in the guest bathroom is still leaking, the stopper is still broke, I can’t fully locked my front (I don’t feel safe at all here), and the framework to the garage is still bent, and they didn’t put the stakes back to distinguish the property line between me and my neighbor. In the beginning of this process I felt as though I was being taking advantage of because I’m a veteran with a guaranteed loan, a first time home buyer and black female my concern months later are still going unanswered or taking seriously. I like my home but things are of major concern to me. I would greatly appreciate someone from this company to reach out to me to resolve this matter before it comes a bigger one. We used Atlantic Construction to build our custom wheelchair accessible house and could not be happier! Lee Huffman was great to work with and really listened to everything we wanted and needed in our accessible home. Any issues/questions we had were addressed promptly and he was able to provide sound and experienced advice along the way. Anything he didn’t have experience with he never hesitated with reaching out to other experts with questions. The office staff at Atlantic was always a pleasure to work with and extremely helpful and organized with our financing documentation. We could not recommend Lee and Atlantic Construction enough!

We bought our house in December 2021. I would say that quality of the actual house is great. I am a very detail oriented person and so I have notice that a lot of the finishes were subpar. Our trim work was not sanded properly and is very rough to the touch, the caulking was a little messy, trash was left on the premises, etc. But anytime we emailed them with issues they came to fix it. Our master bathroom shower plumbing was leaking in the wall and they came the next day to fix it. The only thing I didn’t ask them to fix was the trim work and that’s because I am going to change it and the flooring eventually. Their response time to issues was same day or next business day. I would use them again to build a house but I would be vigilant with making sure the subcontractors do the finishes well. I do wish they would hold subcontractors to a good standard. Avoid at all costs, at ALL costs. We purchased a home in September of last year. Within a month, the vinyl floorboard started lifting and the stairwell cracked badly. They came out to fix these issues and gave excuse after excuse. The first week our AC unit was broken so it was 85 degrees in our house. The paint is so cheap that if you spill water on the wall it will stain. Speaking of paint they spilled it all over our carpet in various parts of the house. Our septic tank needs to be pumped and it’s only been a year, the plumbers told us something more is going on with it and we shouldn’t be having these problems so early. The stairs creek loudly. The bathtub and shower have deep cracks and scratches in it supposedly from the house settling. This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. My main concern is we’ve spent $500 getting the septic tank pumped and there’s paint all over our carpet. The workers left nails, glass and trash in our yard. What is wrong with these people? Have you no integrity or sense of hard work at all? Avoid this company.

This was annoying. It you like a build from them, do not use the realtor Scott Fertney. When you are in the buying process, your realtor is supposed to work for you. He works for the company. I would ask about simple construction issues, he would make excuses for the builder instead of letting the builder know my concerns. Anything I ask about, he would make excuses for atlantic construction. I have bought a house a couple of times and have never been through anything like this. A realtor works for the buyer and do not favor builders, . You loose money and clients that way. Just do not choose him, find a real realtor that works for you and does not favor any company.Service: Home building

Bought our Atlantic construction house in a brand new subdivision called heron watch in hubert. The quality is sub par and the warranty service is damn near not existent. My wife and I have reached out multiple times in the last 2 weeks because of the huge amount of black mold growing on our ceiling. Black mold is not a thing to disturb and needs to be addressed considering this is a brand new house completed and purchased in January of 2021. We have emailed everyone we could without a response. This is the second time a major issue with this house has happened with snail paced responses from company. If anyone would ask me, I'd tell them to not buy a construction from Atlantic and just look elsewhere. Not worth the hassle when buying a new construction house.

He goes above and beyond what is expected. His attention to detail and his prompt attention to issues needing resolve are top shelf. He quickly handles any situations that arise and is patient and personable while responding with a remedy to any problems. I have had only great experiences with him, his sub-contractors, workers and the ladies in the Atlantic office and will recommend them at any opportunity.
