Customer Experience C-Product A-Thrush and Son is a good example of having to constantly bug the contractor to get the job done.We moved into our new home in April 2022. We definitely needed new windows so I got quotes from three different vendors with Thrush and Son being the ‘in-the-middle’ quote. We got the loan and placed the order in June 2022.Now at the time, we were still recovering from supply issues from Covid. So I was well aware that we were going to be waiting for windows. Well, months went by and I called every three weeks to see when the windows would be in. It appeared to take forever to get our windows made.Our windows finally arrived in mid-November and installing them ended up being done on an extremely cold day. This being said the selected group of immigrants worked their butt off to get the windows installed and done. They also did a really good job taking out the old windows, helping to navigate our house with birds, and framing up the windows to make them look presentable.The only problem is we were missing one window out of the 11 we needed. The owner agreed to forgo the $500 of the total till the window arrived.And thus we began the waiting game. I would call every month to check to see if the single window was put in. At one point I told them if we didn’t get the last window put in, we would be requesting a partial refund. It wasn’t until May 2023, that the owner told the staff to go ahead and just re-order the window because the manufacturer could not find our order. It was very frustrating constantly having to keep tabs on this to make sure we got the final window we ordered. This of course after we took out a loan to pay for these and were already making payments for over a year.Finally in August 2023, almost a year later the last window arrived. Now at this point, we were going to be out of the country for a vacation, so we had to wait until the end of August to get the window installed.This time two individuals came out and installed the window. When they looked at the work the previous group had done they had some concerns. Mostly they did not take down the blinds holders to caulk around the window in the inside. They said this would lead to a draft. They also said the top of the framing was done oddly, although not incorrectly. When they put the last window in, they took out the blind holders and said they would need to come back to put those up after the caulk dried, as not to make a mess. Makes sense.Talking with the owner I told him I was willing to pay the remainder amount but still wanted someone to come back at some point to put up the blind holders and also double-check the group’s previous work for any corrections that were needed.That was August 2023, It is now December and of course, I have not heard a peep from Thrush and Sons. And at this point, I would say I’m done with them. The product is a decent window (from what I can tell) and the installation was acceptable, but getting them to actually DO IT and constantly track them down is not worth the aggravation. I should not have to be the keeper of the project I paid money for and a company should not promise they can do something when they really can’t deliver (on time.)

We knew we needed a new roof and called four places for an estimate. Only two replied and Thrush had the most impressive presentation. We worked with Curt who explained everything and answered all our questions and he even recommended several things that we hadn't considered. They were a little more expensive than the other quote but I believe you get what you for and they were a great value. The installers did a great job and cleaned up to the point that you couldn't even tell they had been there. The roof looks great! I would highly recommend them!!

Had gutter guard installed but one end of gutters were not draining. Called to let them know but they never responded. I took gutter apart and found leaves blocking flow of water.

They were great from the very beginning! The salesman is very knowledgeable about the roofing industry and explained everything down to the littlest detail. Two days later the material was delivered and the crew was there to start. It was amazing to watch how well they all worked together as a team. It took a day and a half and they were done. While the crew was still there cleaning up, the owner of the company came and went up on the roof to check their work and to make sure everything was ok. It was! I'm very pleased with all of the service.I highly recommend them.

The Thrush & Son Co. is that of its name Complete Home Improvement. They did my bathroom recently and gave me the bathroom of my dreams way beyond what I could have imagined. My house is older and I knew it might come with some problems during the remodel of the room and boy did it. But the Thrush & Son company addressed every problem and fixed in a timely manner and at a excellent pricing. My husband and I thoroughly happy with the job that was done and the company its self. We had a aluminum roof put over our deck, it came out very well and we enjoy and use the deck more after getting the aluminum roof installed. The carpenter that did the installation was very nice as were the people who came out to bid and design the roof.

I was told I would receive a quote within a couple weeks. It has been months and still nothing. I called three different times and was told they would call me back shortly. The lady I talked to the last time promised that should would call me back no later than Monday. That was weeks ago. I've tried to be patient and communicate to them that I understand if they can't do the work but I just asked that they let me know so I can move forward with finding a new contractor. Still no response. Very frustrating.

We needed 2 exterior storm doors replaced. A salesperson came to our house to take measurements & told us we would receive an estimate "very soon." Weeks went by w/ no estimate provided. I called to follow-up & was told they were swamped but would get back with us. To date we have had no follow-up. In the meanwhile we've received estimates (all within only a few days) from several other companies in the area. Initially we were hoping to use Thrush & Son for more extensive home improvement projects but will look elsewhere after this experience.

The roofing crew left a sizable pile of trash in my yard after putting the shingles on. Not roofing material, but actual garbage: Cigarette butts, the plastic wrapper from a new pack of cigarettes, a plastic grocery bag, a bag from an empty loaf of bread, an empty container that used to contain dried fruit and empty packets from diarrhea medicine. I called the office and asked for Allen, no dice. He didn’t seem to care about about my complaint with his company.I was able to speak to the owner, Allen Thrush on two occasions. Once on the phone when I had a question about the flashing that was in the contract, and once in person when I wrote the check. He and another employee told me that the flashing would be done and the job completed within “a couple weeks.”From that point on Allen Thrush avoided me, would not take or return my calls (even after I was told “he said he’ll call you tomorrow”) and left his employees to deal with the dissatisfied customer after repeated phone calls to him about finishing the job that I paid for.I logged and audio recorded all phone calls, as well as face to face communication I had with anyone from the company. After repeatedly being avoided by Allen, I contacted a lawyer. I had paid for a job that the owner had shown no sign of completing. We had at least five days in December with the temperature above 50 degrees. The roof was clear of snow and ice.I signed the contract on August 2, 2018. The job was started in the third week of October, 2018. I paid on October 31, 2018 (with the good faith promise of having the job completed as explained above). The job was completed on January 7, 2019.Edited to add, as of February 15, 2019, after owner’s response. I indeed left out a few facts:When I called to complain about the trash left in my yard I wasn’t happy, and I yelled. I called twice to apologize to the receptionist for lodging the complaint with her, and again in person when I wrote the check. I was told “it’s ok.” Over the phone the receptionist also said that I had the right to be angry about it and that she understood why I was. I had no choice but to tell her the problem as 1) she asked why I was calling after I asked to speak with Rich, then “the boss,” and 2) Allen refused to speak with me himself. The “verbal onslaught” was apparently bad enough for them to mention in a reply to a negative review, but not bad enough for Allen Thrush go communicate with me directly, instead leaving the receptionist to continue doing business with me.The one time I spoke with Allen on the phone he assured me that “nobody gets paid until you’re happy,” and said that he personally inspects every job after completion to make sure it’s done right. To my knowledge he still has not inspected the completed job, and if he has then he did so without letting me know that he was on my property.When I called them about the trash I also expressed my displeasure about the unused lumber that had been laying on my grass for over a week, and I hadn’t seen any signs that the crew was coming to get it. They showed up at 8pm that night, in the rain to get it. I appreciate that they worked late on a Friday to get it cleaned up, but it took a “verbal onslaught” to get something taken care of that shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place.December 27, 2018: I called at 9am to ask for my money back for the flashing that still wasn’t finished. Allen wouldn’t take my call but sent an employee out instead. The employee said he had a job elsewhere to do that morning but would be back in the afternoon to work on it, which he was. After arriving that afternoon, in the rain, he left after 30 minutes. The next day was almost 60 degrees with sun. No work crew, no phone call, no communication at all. Until I called them January 7, 2019.January 7, 2019 is when I called at 9am and asked for Allen, again. He wouldn’t take my call and that’s when I asked if I needed a lawyer because I felt like a victim of fraud and I felt like Thrush and Son was stealing from me. The job was finished that morning.

Take your business elsewhere. Will waste your time and give every excuse as to why they are late. They haven’t finished a job on time according to their laborers in about a year and a half. If you’re pressed for time and professionalism look elsewhere.
