After almost six months and dozens of calls, emails, face-to-face meetings, and texts, the work I contracted Classic Exteriors to perform on my porch is complete.tl;dr I'm not entirely satisfied with their attention to detail or communication, but the team stepped up when it mattered and worked hard to solve the problems with their initial work.I hired Classic Exteriors to replace the boards on my porch and slope the boards away from my house after a different contractor botched a similar job and ghosted me after I tried to get him to fix it.You can see from the photos that the work Classic Exteriors performed wasn't very neat, but if you're not paying very close attention the porch looks good and is structurally sound. They came out at no cost after a couple of months of prodding to clean up some of the rougher cuts, which was nice of them to do.As we were coordinating the work to clean up some of the carpentry on the boards, we discovered that rain would leak into my basement from the porch and also that there was an area where the boards dipped, causing water to pool on the porch rather than shed away from the house. Classic Exteriors worked diligently to solve these problems and even did some complementary work to bolster the structure of the porch in spite of my offering to pay for additional materials.I'm not sure whether I'll contract them for additional work on my home, but I can at least confidently say that the folks at Classic Exteriors are good people who genuinely care about doing right by their customers.Services: Carpentry services, Porch construction

I highly recommend Classic Exteriors. Our neighbor had her front porch done and referred them to us to have our front patio/porch redone. The crew that did our project was very professional and Richard was promt to respond with any questions or concerns. They did an awesome job and cleaned up after themselves when the project was done. The price that we agreed upon for the project was exact to the penny...no unexpected extra charges or fees that needed to be added on. (this was a huge plus for me because a lot of companies try to gouge you with these extra fees/charges/taxes.) Our front porch looks great and we are very pleased! I have had my sunroom now for just over a year and I requested some warranty work done recently mainly involving additional exterior caulking on the outside desired and on the HVAC unit.Rick W. and his associate Asa came out and did an outstanding and thorough review, and workmanship, on my sunroom to keep it in pristine condition. These two guys need to be honored by Classic Exteriors for their professionalism, dedication, and integrity to their work, and attention to detail. It makes me feel proud to see such attributes by these two individuals, and the customer satisfaction that they strive to maintain for your company.

A sales representative named Karl came out to provide me with a quote for a new front door and rear sliding glass door. The front door was a simple steel door with sidelights. Nothing fancy. He quoted me $12,000!!! $7,000 more than other quotes I received. I then asked him to email me the quote so I have documentation of it. He never emailed it to me after I asked him twice. They never followed up with me. I just couldn't believe how high the quote was. We obviously went with someone else. I wish he would have least not ignored my texts and responded to my request.

A huge tree fell on the stairs connecting our lower deck to our upper deck. The stairs had to be ripped out and replaced. Classic Exteriors gave us several options. We ended up replacing the stairs as well as the railing on the upper and lower decks. It was a big job. We are very happy with the results. They were thorough and professional. They even dealt with our insurance adjuster who had not accounted for all the repairs needed. We highly recommend Classic Exteriors!Service: Exterior structural repairs

Great experience with sales person coming out. But after the 3rd time and pricing, I haven’t heard from anyone. I called in and they owned up to a mistake and some changes, but they were supposed to contact me with new pricing. I haven’t heard back. It’s been over 2-3 months since our initial conversation. Sales rep didn’t reach out after the mistake as well. I guess they don’t want my business? If anyone knows others that are realiable to get quote from please let me know!

If anyone is wondering why there are very few negative reviews it's because Rick makes you sign a work contract that specifically states you will not leave a negative review. When my partner who read the contract expressed concern about this and refused to sign, Rick stated he would remove that language and resend it to his representative who was at our home. After being assured the language was removed my partner looked over the contract again only to find that Rick never completely removed the language! After the contract was reviewed and the language taken out, we agreed... signed the paperwork, and ordered the windows. Rick eventually came out to our home and shared the original windows and door we ordered would not work and provided us with our options. We explained to Rick we wanted minimal disturbances to our view as the windows were for a screened porch. We opted to go with the windows Rick suggested as we did not want an additional transom at the top. Several months later the windows arrived and were installed. We quickly noticed the windows did not open completely about 10" from the top and most of the joints were sloppy. The window quality was very shotty and not at all what we expected from custom made windows (Polaris Windows and Doors). In Fact, we have some stock windows that were made in China that have perfect joints and function properly. Not once did Rick or anyone from his company tell us the windows would not function properly and open like a normal window. We immediately called Rick who came out to our home (after many excuses) and stated he is only the installer and that our issue is between us and the window company who made them. The windows were ordered through Classic Exteriors and installed by Classic Exteriors. This rationale would be one of Rick's many attempts to deflect and redirect. Once I challenged Rick's excuse about not being responsible for the window fully functioning... Rick responded "I never said the windows would open the entire way." I told Rick he never said they wouldnt and any reasonable person would expect a window to open fully. Once pressed Rick said he would reach out to the window company. Rick went on to state that he would "take care of you", "I'll make sure you're happy" and something about being in recovery and "doing the right thing". Rick pressured us for the remaining funds stating that he has to pay for the windows and his employees and promised us that he would personally resolve the issue. Rick said that maybe they can adjust the windows to open fully and put in new joints. Rick only said this to appease us to get the rest of his money. After pressing the issue Rick sent out his son and a representative of Polaris Windows and Doors to clean up the joints and to tell us there is nothing they can do to fix the windows so they would open properly. Rick drug his feet for months to get us an answer in an attempt to wait us out so we would give up. Rick used every excuse to stall and ignore resolving the issue such as "It was my Birthday", "My grandson was in the hospital", "I'm on vacation", and "We've been really busy". Rick is not a man of his word and like any addict, Rick says whatever he needs to make a quick buck without any regard to the person he is exploiting. Has Rick forgotten steps #8 and #10 of recovery? Luckily this is not our first time dealing with unethical contractors who lie and have recorded every single conversation and meeting with Classic Exteriors since the initial sales call visit. I am currently in the process of filing a Better Business Bureau complaint as well as a Complaint with The Attorney General. I strongly suggest recording any meetings with Rick and his staff as you may need them.

We had these people replace our aging gutters. First issue was that the workers arrived unscheduled and unannounced one morning. The work looks and works fantastic 👌.When the workers left, they left tools, screws/nails, gutter spikes, and small aluminum cuttings in the yard. We had to ask the company to send people out to clean up.Following that we decided to see if they were interested in replacing our garage door. They never followed up.

After I contacted Classic Exteriors via Home Advisor, they reached out to me the next day to set up an appointment to look at my old deck and provide a quote for a new deck. We had the option to completely customize the deck, but we opted to keep the same design except longer.Part of their standard sales pitch is that it takes "30-45 days" in case they need to cover licensing/property/legal issues. For us, they came out two days later (3 days after I contacted them on Home Advisor) and took the deck apart. The next day, they built the whole deck, and it looks amazing! Superb construction. They walked me through the details and answered all questions I had. They cleaned up all the old debris and left everything as it was when they first arrived.You will pay extra for their services for a few reasons. If you live in Dayton/Fairborn like me,, I imagine operating costs are more since they are based out of Columbus. Second, they are very skilled at their profession and provide a quality service. My 17" x 10" deck cost $11k, but I think it was a good investment considering I plan to sell the house soon. If we kept the 10" x 10" deck (original dimensions), it would cost about $8k. Both these prices are the "bottom line" quote as explained in the next paragraph. I gave 4 stars because this means the labor was about $116 per hour per person, which seems really extreme despite the quality of work. It would have taken only slightly less time for the 10" x 10", which means they upcharge the cost of materials A LOT.For the price, it also helps to understand their sales tactics. They will quote you an initial price, then apply some kind of promotional discount, and then provide a "bottom line" if you commit to the contract that day while the rep is at your house. If you want to price shop, consider them last to take full advantage of this bottom line.

I was going through financial hardship, but really needed my front stairs replaced. I explained my situation, what I could afford, and what I would need. I originally planned on replacing the cement stairs, but they worked very well with my budget and came up with an alternate plan that I could afford and was happy with. The project was completed in a timely manner and the end result was even better looking than I envisioned. What an improvement! I would use them again for another project. Pics are dark, sorry. My husband and I had Classic Exteriors replace our roof. The process was incredibly easy and stress-free. The crew was highly efficient and professional. We have four dogs. I was worried about nails. We have had no issues with any nails left on the ground. Clean up process was immaculate. Michael is professional and clearly communicates. We greatly appreciate Classic Exteriors.

We used classic exteriors last year to make improvements to our existing deck. We did not have a great experience at this time with the crew selected. The final product was borderline unsafe. I spoke to Rick one of the owners and expressed my concerns and displeasure for the services I paid for. Rick took the time to visit the my home and walk through what the crew completed. He was in full agreement that the quality did not meet the companies expectations and worked diligent to come up with a solution. I gave him the opportunity to bid the second phase of the restoration of my deck and fixing the previous work his crew completed less than a year ago. Needless to say the crew he selected to complete the second phase and completely redo the previous work did a fantastic job and I'm confident in the quality of the craftsmanship. We used their service for replacing our roof, replacing old damaged trim and installing a screen door. The work was very good and they were diligent about the clean up afterwards on all 3 projects. The final cost was reasonable. There was some miscommunication about timing of the work but it all involved work getting done a lot sooner than expected, so it wasn't a bad thing. We hired Classic Exteriors to replace the vinyl siding & all the gutters on our home. Understanding the current production timelines lately, it took 8 months from signing the contract to completion of the project. But we’re so happy with the result and it was worth the wait! They replaced my siding, and installed new gutters. The two men who hung the siding on my home were outstanding. They worked VERY hard, and their work was top rate. I really appreciated the quality and diligence. They covered every detail, and were thorough in cleaning up. The men who installed the gutters were also very good -- took time to explain things to me, so I could make decisions about placement. I highly recommend Classic Exteriors. They were first rate all the way.

Update from 11/21/21 I had Classic Exteriors install a wall of windows (with screens) enclosing my existing porch. I absolutely love my new porch. My cat and I spend mornings enjoying enjoying my first coffee and Maple (my cat) watches the birds.I've hired Classic Exteriors to complete projects on my residence for the past 3 years. When I first hired them, I only had a couple things I needed fixed, but Mike did his due diligence and informed me of other issues and it just so happened that my insurance covered it! I got beautiful new siding because of Mike and it looks great!Every time I hire them, they do a fantastic job.I plan to use them again for more windows this year, and I know the job will be done right and it will be done in a timely matter. Fantastic work! I had Classic Exteriors replace my front porch this year and they did a phenomenal job. This was not a simple project. They had to remove my old brick and concrete porch (I have a raised entrance to my house) and build new. This included a new, large picture window, steps, railing, etc. They completed the work quickly and left the site clean. The men who did the work were polite and very professional. And the finish work and attention to detail was way above my expectations. As you can tell, I can’t say enough great things about this company. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

I absolutely have to recommend Classic Exteriors! We were so impressed with the work they did two years ago when we hired them to replace gutters and downspouts that we sought them out to replace our home's shingle roof. They did an awesome job! We have a rather large roof (~35-36 square) and they were able to tear-off the old roof and place the new roof in just two days! They were efficient and tidy....they even blew off small shingle grit from our patios, front porch and driveway! Mitch was our sales representative...he was knowledgeable and professional during the home visit! Brigitte was our primary contact for the job and she was nothing less than incredible! Brigitte made frequent contact with us prior to and during the job and answered every question and provided documentation in expeditious fashion. We would hire Classic Exteriors for any home improvement endeavor and would encourage others to seek out this local and quality-committed company!!

Owning a historical home, even simple renovations will have a few surprises. Classic Exteriors helped me replace and upgrade my patio and front doors. Both doorways had to be completely reframed, resized, and adjusted to compensate for odd sized openings, slanted floors, and drainage issues. My salesman, Mitchell, did a great job scoping out the project and was very knowledge on what his installers would be able to accomplish, While Classic Exteriors was not the lowest costs, Mitchell's detailed knowledge of the install process and suggestions for maximizing the potential for my doorways made me feel confident in their ability to handle the job. My installer, Russell, definitely exceeded all of my expectations. He was very professional, stopped to explain options/suggestions throughout the process, and left me with beautifully installed doors. He was clean and ensured all of the historical moldings were intact. I am thrilled with the outcome and look forward to working with the team again on future projects.

UPDATE: I see the owner has responded to this review. Let me be clear. There are issues I can clearly show from the inspection report, There are pictures I would be happy to post. I invited the company to come to the home and review. A salesmen looked at the project, I invite ownership to come and look. Nothing is structurally falling apart. There are just problems with all parts of the project where the details were done poorly. Crooked doors, cracked tiles, poor pattern layout, etc. Tape splits in drywall, non functioning outlets, poor installation of the dishwasher, varying heights of wall cabinet installation, which way the cabinet door swings, etc. I have no ill will, but I stand by my comments on the level of quality. Please feel free to contact me. I'm not asking for free work, I'm trying to make others aware of what they might receive if they have their kitchen remodeled.I don’t normally post reviews, but I thought this would be a situation where this might help others if I do. We didn’t contract Classic Exteriors to remodel the kitchen, but purchased the home from the couple who did. I had noticed after we purchased the home, how the cabinets were off center, hanging crooked, the doors and drawers are crooked, the base cabinets are not level, etc. I found an estimate later that indicated that Classic Exteriors was the company that had performed the work. I also had found out that they installed the tile, throughout a sizable portion of the first floor. It also as similar problems: cracked tiles in places, port transitions, bad pattern layout, etc. In addition the drywall work already has tape splits and the plumbing and electrical has since needed repair. I don’t think there is an item they have touched in their remodel that shouldn’t be redone. The price tag for this work? North of $50,000. We received a promotional item from the company recently around the time I discovered they had performed the work. I contacted them over the phone and they came and looked at the work and then said they wouldn’t repair the work as it was out of warranty (just under 2 years from the work being completed). They did offer to quote me a price to repair everything! If you have questions about my review, please feel free to contact me to verify the above. I’d be happy to let anyone inspect for themselves what I am saying. If you have any questions about whether this company should remodel your kitchen, please don’t, it’s not a price worth paying.

Ron installed my back door and did an excellent job. He was able to make modifications to the trim because the door was not standard size. When he finished he cleaned up his work space including the stair well and leaves where he had been working. I would highly recommend Ron and Classic Exteriors.
