The Good:Carpenter was fast and courteous.Now the Bad:I do want to say I don't like to say bad things.Threshold not supported completely.Light is visible around the door seal.Deadbolt does not operate without pressing on door.Brick mold was installed in a way where I can't install a storm door.The owner contacted me shortly after I posted this review. He was truly upset about my review. He had the carpenter come out the next day and address my issues. This is customer service you rarely see anymore.

After sending in a service request, I was contacted the next day. A service technician (Adam) came out to estimate the job and was able to complete the project in one day. Adam did a great job. He explained what he intended to do, made sure we were onboard and finished the job. I would use Columbus handyman again for future projects.

This is my first time using this company & the knocked it out of the park. They came promptly to give me a reasonable estimate, they communicated when they would be there, they communicated when they were done. I was blown away by their professionalism and their prompt service. I will not only use them again for other projects, but I will also highly recommend them. Derek, Adam and John THANK YOU all for helping me with my project! It truly is a peace of mind knowing there is a company out there that treats my home like it's their own. It might have been on the smaller side of a project but they made me feel like i was a million dollar client.

Gil was great and patient with the issue of installing my rocker switch in my upstairs bathroom. It worked but the nightlight couldn’t work, but he tried a few different configurations and ended up explaining why. I did some further research after he left and discovered I had purchased a 3 way rocker switch 3 function instead of the 3 way four function for the Broan light, night light, heater and exhaust fan in that bathroom. I learned something. Next time I’ll get the correct rocker switch. Thanks Gil for your expert patience and service. I appreciate it. I’ve always had great service from Columbus Handyman.Rita

Poorly managed and high prices. Unprofessional payment collection practices. Immediately did not work well within a schedule constraints. Lack of communication of the job from front office to field staff on job details. Did not meet schedule (3x). Excusatory management (blames staff). Gave two stars because quality of work was adequate (Thanks Cam). Would not recommend them as this is not a solid financially stable outfit nor are basic project management practices established. Not customer focused.

We have had Columbus Handyman do various projects for us in the past. The drywall in a corner of the closet had separated and the closet was in need of being painted. Cam came quickly to give us an estimate and began the work the next day. Cam and the work were professional and the price was fair. I would highly recommend Columbus Handyman

Bun and Lulu did a remarkable job on our bathroom plumbing, I highly recommend them! The pair drilled through a piece of wood, changed out my part (that was the wrong part inserted by the last guy) and completely fixed my shower.Remarkable job! hands down great quality, great value, very professional, on time , quick and responsive. Wonderful service. I am a senior citizen. I called the company last evening and spoke with the owner. Very nice gentleman. I explained the electrical issue I had. He told me not to worry and he would have someone at my house the following morning.As promised, before 9am the next morning I received a call advising that 2 employees would be at my home within 15 minutes.They arrived, we’re very nice and put on booties before they entered my home. I showed them the issue and they resolved it quickly. When done, they cleaned up the area.Great experience. They gave us multiple options to choose from in order to meet our budget. They were able to complete the project much faster than other companies we spoke to. Mike, the installer did a fantastic job. I have never been so happy with a business. I had my wood fence repaired and painted. Also, I had two outside lights switched out. The men worked so hard at making sure everything was done correctly, they show up on time, communicate any problems or solutions and the pricing is very reasonable. We recently had Columbus Handyman install some bookshelves to look "built-in" and we're very happy with the result! Scheduling was also quick and the workers were prompt and professional. We've hired this company before for other small projects, and don't have any complaints. The team was very professional and efficient.Had to have a drain line from the laundry room rerouted because of back ups that ran down into the kitchen.Plumbing fixed and all the drywall in the laundry room and kitchen ceiling was repaired.I will definitely hire them again for repairs around the house.

We were ultimately happy with the work completed by Columbus handyman, but did have some scheduling issues along the way. They rescheduled the work three times, and most of the time we had advanced notice, but one time was the day of (although the owner himself called to apologise, which I was impressed by and greatly appreciated). Once Jason came out to complete the electrical work (rewiring a bathroom fan and three way switch), he was courteous, professional, and completed the work more quickly than expected. I was very pleased with the final result, and would use Columbus handyman again.

First I had an appointment for Someone from CHM come out and quote installation of an exterior door and screen door. The morning someone was suppose to come out, John called and indicated the person had an emergency. We discussed the work and John gave me a verbal cost. I liked the cost and asked about some interior door installation. He asked me to send pics which I did, price came in higher than I expected. When I asked him to just do the exterior doors, he said he couldn't do the work for the price we discussed. I know it's a tough business, but if you can't live up to what you say, come out and look at the job. One of the most important things I say about contractors is the feeling of trust. Moving on.

This review is for Greg from Columbus Handyman, whom I hired to replace a light fixture in my bathroom with a combo light/fan in my circa 1940s house. Working on older homes can be a challenge, and I was a little nervous about the project before starting, but Greg did a great job. I wanted to pick out my own fan/light, so he gave me precise specs to use when selecting one. He showed up on time and went the extra mile (and hours) to make sure that things were done right. He even followed up extremely quickly when I had a question after the installation was finished (something very minor that was just an issue with my bulb selection). I was very pleased with my experience and would feel comfortable hiring him again as it's clear that a lot of attention to detail was given to doing the job right.Service: Fan installation
