This was my first glamping experience and we couldn't have asked for better weather while we were there. Our host greeted us when we got there and gave us a heads up that we'd hear coyotes but that they don't come up there. The view of the pond from our bed was just gorgeous with the fall leaves. The heater actually heated better than we expected and we ended up turning it off in the night as we got too warm. We pet some of the goats that wandered freely about and went a short ways into the walking trails as I couldn't do too much at 8 months pregnant. I also had to make the trip many times to the public restrooms which wasn't far and were well maintained. We were able to light a fire in the fire pit where we roasted marshmallows for smores and we fixed some great steaks and burgers on their grill. The sunrise was beautiful and I didn't want to leave. I'm hoping to make this a yearly tradition in the future though next time we may check out their cabins since we'll have a baby.

Our stay here was wonderful! my husband and I stayed in one of the glamping tents. it was clean, cozy and a good size. it came with lighting, ac and a cute heater. (for colder months def bring extra blankets) they offer a good amount of activities. It's a beautiful location away from the big city. lots of wildlife to witness during hikes. settled near a small town. 3 small town restaurants within 10 minutes.Laura took care of all bookings and communicated very well and was pretty quick to respond back and answered all our questions! super friendly through all the emails and texts!Darby is one of the ranch managers. He really set the tone for the entire experience! He is friendly, welcoming, easy going and informative! He made sure we knew we could just relax and enjoy everything the ranch had to offer and any activities we booked with him, he made fun! (archery,atv tours)The only thing I'd upgrade is the public bathrooms. just because it doesn't match the vibes of the tents. but still they were clean and funtional!The ranch on it own was great but the staff truly made the experience stress free and easy! and that's what makes it worth visiting again!

Wood Guest Ranch met our expectations and then some! I really couldn't have asked for a better place to get away and enjoy nature. Laura and her family were so nice and welcoming to us. They were able to accommodate a last minute upgrade and it really made our stay even better. The ATV tour and horseback riding are a MUST to see their beautiful land. Laura communicated efficiently and treated us like family. We've already told friends and family about this charming place and can't wait to come back ourselves!

A beautiful retreat ! Our cabin was spotless and the staff there is amazing. It was a great place to meet with family and friends to relax. The ranch is welcoming with activities and plenty of room to explore. Great place to slow down and enjoy nature and those you gather with. Definitely will return.

My family and I had an amazing time at WGR. The staff team was warm and accommodating, and the property is beautiful. We loved exploring the trails and getting to know all of their horses, goats, cows, etc. the facilities were extremely clean and well kept. My husband and I stayed in one of the clamping tents and loved it! Will definitely be back!

Best Experience! My husband and I had the pleasure of coming here for horseback riding and it was an unforgettable time. Rachel and Laura were so sweet and treated us wonderfully. It was my husbands first time riding and he has only good things to say. The ranch is beautiful and the ride was breathtaking. We are planning to bring our kids to do other activities. What an amazing weekend spent at Wood Guest Ranch! The Lodge was perfect for our group - super comfortable and plenty of space for our crowd of nine! Communication with management was very easy and customer service was A+++!! This was a wonderful location away from the hustle and bustle of Dallas....just under two hours. We will be back! First stay at WGR and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Stayed in one of the cabins, which was stocked with basic items. WGR team was helpful and friendly, communication was clear and booking activities was easy. Property was well maintained and I appreciated the trails and disc golf course they built. Both are great ways to explore the land. Would happily go back!

Incredible couple’s getaway! Our tent was perfectly clean. Even though it was hot and rainy outside all weekend, the tent and AC kept us cool and dry. The ATV ride was also a ton of fun to see the whole property. Our weekend couldn’t have been better.

My family of 5 just wrapped up our 4th stay at WGR and we can't wait to go back! We were part of a larger group of 23 and we all had a great experience. We rented the kitchen/dining room and they were clean and a great size to accommodate our group. Our family enjoyed fishing, running around the vast property, watching a baby goat be born in the petting zoo- just a great trip being outside with no screens and lots of time together. Our cabin had a minor issue with hot water and the property managers were so quick to respond and worked to be sure all issues were taken care of. We've stayed in the glamping tents and the cabins and have really loved every chance we have had to be out at WGR!

Our family had a blast over the 4th of July weekend. The cabins were ideal for our stay. Very clean and accommodating. We enjoyed fishing, ATV rides, covered wagon ride and an awesome fireworks display over in Boswell, OK. Special thanks to an independent donor. It’s such a beautiful place! Wood Guest Ranch is wonderful … We loved everything about it . From the ATV ride to ,fishing right out our back door . It was everything we wanted . The best part is the million stars you can see and the bull frog’s talking at night while sitting around the fire .. The pond is well stocked with fish I caught 7 within in a hour . We will for sure be back in the future. Thank you again for sharing your Ranch with us !

To our sweetest hosts,Your ranch is a hidden gem. As much as I want it to be hidden and less people to know it, I believe it won’t be fair to you guys. From nature to relaxing to adventures you name it, you will get it. Atv tour, horseback riding and boggy river kayak tour are some activities we were able to enjoy. Away from city to a quiet country you will discover your hidden country side. Our dogs enjoyed as much as we did.PS love to be back soon to kayaking adventures with Darby 😂😂Abhaya and Sammy

Easy navigation through the woods from pad to basket. Some open holes. Grass nicely cut. First time on this course, has a small fee entrance. U can go fishing, camping and other fun activities.

Nice quiet little place to get away. Lived walking and seeing the deer. The cabins are nice but if you like fluff this is not for you. I loved the wood panel walls with the rope in the creases. The tin roof was fabulous hearing the patter if the rain.

Great place to stay and visit. The family that runs the place are excellent people that go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The ranch is gorgeous and so are the animals. They have some really great horses there too. I loved the place and will definitely be going back.

Stayed at Wood Guest Ranch over the weekend. It's been a while since I last stayed on the ranch, maybe 8 to 10 years. When I surfed the home page on the website, I noticed that the pictures posted of the "Facilities" were taken at the time I had stayed there, a few years ago. Unfortunately, it does not look the same nor is it kept up in the quality that it once was when if first opened.1. The restrooms are not maintained at all to any kind of health standard. Floors not swept, trash not removed, toilets and showers not cleaned, light bulbs out, missing toilet paper and paper towel rolls, no hand soap, and trash tossed about carelessly. By all appearances, cleaning had not been done for over a week.2. Camp grounds not mowed in more than a week. Tall grass everywhere.3. Free standing pens not maintained, appearing unkept.4. Horses being boarded in temporary spaces that appear to have fencing that is falling down. While the horses may respect the sloppy fencing, by all appearances, the fence can fall down easily.5. Facility is cluttered with loose lawn chairs, feed tubs, broken tools, and equipment sitting in tall grass rusting away and about the campsite parking.6. Every security light in the camp ground was dark. What's the point in having them if you are not going to use them? There was mud and standing water everywhere. It would have been nice to see where I was walking in the dark to avoid a muddy puddle.The general all-around appearance of the place is messy and cluttered. The manager is not a person who does well with cleaning and the removal of clutter. Her personal space is very unkept and sloppy. While she may have the where-with-all to run a business on behalf of the Wood's, she is not one for being clutter free and clean. If she is in charge of everything, she's messing up on part of her duties very badly.It's my suggestion is the Woods hire someone to do the full time cleaning of the restrooms and pick up trash, daily. Find someone to haul off the broken down equipment that is rusting away in the tall grass and the surrounding fence lines. if it's broken, get rid of it. Figure out why the security lights are not on and use them. Especially, when the camp is full.I was very disappointed in how run down the place looked compared to the pictures posted in the website. I fault the ranch owner for failing to be more pro-active in putting a better foot forward. There is plenty of competition in the hospitality dude/guest ranch industry, that do a better job at putting forward a clean and health environment forward to they paying customers. In the case of Wood Guest Ranch, there is lots of room for improvement. If you wish to attract flies, than by all means, stay the status quo. Given the pricing at $25/night for RV hook up, I would think the facility might have been better maintained.

The ranch is nice, I've been there about 6 times and I don't think I go there again. They should be more professional in providing services to customers. I went there with 4 friends who came all the way from Chicago to ride horses. The girl who was in charge was an unexperinced teenager and she was very rude and disrespectful. She started screaming at me only because I asked her to let me switch t horses.we ended up leaving the ranch after driving more than 1 hour.
