We worked with the Lamont Bros for our kitchen remodeling this past year. We chose them as a one-stop shop for handling this because we needed a more stress free option than individual contractors with our first baby on the way. We worked with Cory who made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. He was our champion in making sure our small project was prioritized. David, who came to the house to do most of the demo and installs, was so nice, clean, and efficient. As with any remodel, there were some delays and hiccups, but the crew we worked with always made sure we were taken care of and none of these things caused stress, concern, or even a thought like they might have if we had attempted to piecemeal the project together with individual contractors from various companies. Having Lamont Bros help us with the remodeling of our home was a great experience! We lived out of state and the concern of handing over our new (to us) home wasn’t even a worry. We had seen their work and they came highly recommended. One thing that we learned is that Lamont doesn’t hire just anyone. That person must be vetted and have necessary qualifications and training before they can join a team.Josh Anderson was our liaison setting us up with our fantastically creative source, Jeremiah Jernigan. The collaboration between Josh and Jeremiah and us was super important. They listened to what we envisioned and showed them via Pinterest. At their design studio they can show you many types of samples to help you and them with your vision. The teams that worked our home were very professional and friendly. Jeremy Blackman, Zack Smith and Caleb Wilson were invaluable in seeing the work completed.We can’t say enough about how awesome our home looks! We would and will use Lamont Bros again. They treat their customers with respect answering texts, phone calls and emails in a timely fashion. Lamont Bros are definitely worthy of your business.

Last summer of 2020 , Basharia Middleton designed a bathroom and adjusted closets in a bedroom and put in a large picture window.I needed the bathroom to be Universal Design with curb less entry shower , and support bars that don’t like like a hospital . I live in a 1914 craftsman type of home and wanted the design to reflect that.The results are amazing and helped me care of my 98 year old parents .Photos are before and after ( the mint green ones are the new photos )The crew followed very safe protocols during the pandemic . They were reliable ,on time , cleaned up and respectful of neighbors . Crew members of supervisor David, Brendon project manager , Lauren and Rebecca . The Lamont Brothers design build team remodeled our kitchen, laundry room, pantry and mudroom entryway and delivered "walk on water" results that completely transformed our home.Not a day goes by where my wife does not comment on how much she loves her new kitchen and every guest who sees it for the first time just stands there in amazement for a moment before commenting on beautiful and functional it is.The Lamont design team took in all of our needed changes and colors and textures and materials and worked out a design that was better than we ever hoped or could have come up with on our own.The Lamont build team was a pleasure to have in out home for the duration of the project and they solved every problem that always comes up in remodeling and were empowered to make decisions right there on the spot and their tools and experience and workmanship far exceeded expectations.They came in exactly on budget and on time and the results are far better than we expected and the experience from start to finish was very enjoyable.We love our new kitchen and sometimes just sit in there and look at it!After 20 years in our home we are now excited for the next 20 and my wife and family could not be more pleased about the transformation.Services: Tile work installation, Install flooring, Tile work replacement, Remodeling, Plumbing fixture installation, Kitchen remodeling, Flooring

I would recommend them.The person who came out to bid the job, Joseph Patrick, was by far the clearest in grasping what we wanted and then laying out the possibilities on his computer right there on our kitchen table on his first visit. His presentation was clear, filled with enough detail, good suggestions, potential ways to work with our budget and our wants than any other contractor we talked with. His computer presentation was impressive!I especially thought the attention to detail and thoroughness showed by their two designers, Basharia and Emily, was worth the communication challenge we experienced with them. Emily measured everything in our kitchen down to a sixteenth or thirty-second of an inch! Basharia kept looking and looking through countertop samples until she found one I liked! She also guided us in how to keep spending down on extras. She made the best, most practical pitch to my husband about the value of adding quartz countertops throughout instead of using laminate and I will be forever grateful to her for that!Our project head, David Davenport (Davy) was excellent! He and his crew of two men, Tucker and Ryan, showed up on time, stayed on task, demonstrated good humor and excellent construction skills. They took steps to minimize dirt and dust, though that was near impossible with a complete remodel. Once when ceiling texture spraying got out of control and sprayed all over the living room, Davy stayed overtime, personally looking for and cleaning up every spot he could find. That’s dedication!I am a fan of having a vertically integrated company doing the remodel. That means they had all the workers in-house (except for the plumber and electrician, whom they scheduled on an as needed basis). When they uncovered our structural beam issue, they called in upper level guys from the company and had city a inspector on site very quickly. As a result, we lost just a week on adding the ceiling beam.My challenge with them is they seem to be missing a person whose job it is to bridge the communication/customer relations gap once the project gets started. Other than the daily project leader, I felt there was no one to get ahold of if or when things weren’t going well or when we felt confused about what was coming next.LaMont uses an app (BuilderTrend) which we were supposed use to post messages, requests or questions and where daily progress reports from the job supervisor were posted. Our project construction head did post his weekly construction reports with photos. However when I posted messages or questions on the app, they went unanswered until I either called or emailed the company directly. They would be very apologetic, swear it would never happen again, but then the pattern would repeat. Perhaps the person who instituted use of BuilderTrend is no longer with the company and no one else likes it but I felt frustrated when I tried to communicate with anyone except the workers physically present in my house.Overall I thought LaMont did the best job of respecting our budget and talking through our concerns for our job. Our construction leader posted his work reports with photos on BuilderTrend frequently. Their designers kept looking through product samples until they found countertop, flooring, and cabinet finishes that pleased us. Their construction workers were skilled, polite and respectful, and showed up on time ready to work each day there was work to do. On a 10 point scale, I would give them a 7.

Short version:We couldn't be happier. If you're looking for an honest company that does top quality work, look no further. Are they the cheapest? No, I'm certain they're not. But, is that what you really want in a remodeling firm? I'm certain they're one of the best. That's what I'm looking for.Long Version:When we told our friends we were going to do a complete kitchen remodel, they all gave us the horror stories of what to expect. It'll run way over budget, way over schedule and the contractors will cut every corner possible if you don't watch them like a hawk. We were determined to find a remodeling company we could trust, one that would do good work, and would just do the right thing. And we did find that in Lamont Brothers.I found their site by doing the normal google searches and the first thing I came across was a video of Joseph on site at a job explaining how Lamont was handling the Covid pandemic to protect their workers and clients while still getting the job done. He seemed honest and trustworthy so i sent an email. Not long after we were on a video call with Joseph going over our ideas, and learning about Lamont and their process. We made the decision after the initial call that we were hiring them. Sometimes you just know what the right decision is.From there we moved into more budgeting calls and then moved into the design process with Julie. Julie is amazing. We were originally thinking white cabinets, faux marble countertops...the thing everyone is doing right now. She came over to see the space and taking a queue from our mid-century taste (furniture), designed a beautiful kitchen that is absolutely perfect for us.Once construction began, Zach and his crew were here on time, if not slightly early, every single day. Seriously, they were not late a single time. If they weren't going to be here at 7am, I knew the day before when to expect them. They not only did beautiful work, but they're extremely courteous and professional, and did a heck of a job cleaning up at the end of every day. Oh, and they finished exactly on schedule and on budget.Were there any issues along the way? Yes. One that could be considered a mistake on their part. But, they owned it and fixed it and did not try to pass blame or get out of it. That's exactly what professionals do. And, as I mentioned above, we were still done on schedule and on budget.I would recommend Lamont Brothers to anyone.Service: Remodeling

We hired Lamont to do a small addition for a shop space and a kitchen remodel. The kitchen remodel involved removing a wall, and installing new drywall, creation of a pantry, and new counters and cabinets. Overall we are very happy with the work they did. First, Lamont is a full service outfit, they have designers, project managers, plus several construction crews who do most of the work themselves. They did contract out the electrical, plumbing, roofing and countertops. The designers we worked with, Basharia and Julie were excellent. They drew up two full versions of the kitchen for us to choose from before they started. Basharia was especially helpful with picking out counter, cabinet and tile designs. One thing you should understand is that because they are a full service outfit, they are not cheap. We worked really hard with them to get them down into our budget range, and in the end although we got a great kitchen and shop that we are very happy with, it felt like the price was still a bit high. But you get what you pay for. The Lamont crew that worked on our house were great, they were very respectful, accommodating, highly attentive to detail, and always honest in their communication of the status and issues, and they were just plain nice people, people we felt comfortable having in our house doing the work. In order to get the price down we did negotiate with them heavily on the price breakdown, and on having me (the homeowner) do some of the work myself (partial demo, floors, external siding, pantry shelving and painting). I appreciated the flexibility they showed in this regard, although I would have liked a bit more flexibility (for example they were not open to us finding a cheaper countertop supplier). We're giving them 4 stars instead of 5 due to this and a couple other things - first communication was sometimes a bit lacking. Sometimes emails would go unanswered for a couple days, although when they did finally communicate it was generally very accurate and thorough. Finally the whole project took almost 2 months longer than originally projected. A good bit of this was due to the electrical contractor that they used, which although they did a good job, caused weeks of delay at a time just waiting for them to get the next step done. I don't know whether to blame this on the electrician or on a lack of scheduling on the part of Lamont. But in the end the job got done and we are very happy with it.

I just want to take a moment to recognize Cory Pena. Unfortunately my project is not within the work scope that Lamont Bros do, but that didn't stop Cory from providing THE BEST customer service I've ever had. His energy, smile through the phone attitude, follow through and even after we knew we couldn't work together- sending me great information to further help me. Cory has me eyeing more projects just so that I could have the pleasure of working with the company. Lamont Bros. is so very lucky to have such a wonderful, warm and hardworking gentleman like Cory on their team. I will definitely be back first chance on any future projects. Thank you ❤️

The Lamont team did a great job with our master bathroom remodel. The project involved a complete tear down and replacement of the shower, bath, sinks, cabinetry, toilet and flooring. Cory talked us through what the project would look like at the very beginning and then stayed connected with us through all the steps. Emily created a 3D design that captured the upgrades we wanted and gave us confidence to move into the build stage. Zeb and Travis did most of the construction and were very detailed oriented. We are very pleased with the remodel of our upstairs bathroom by Lamont Brothers. Most materials and fixtures were delivered on site before construction, and the electrical, plumbing and flooring subcontractors completed their tasks on schedule. We enjoyed working with the Lamont team assigned to the project: design consultant Matt, designer Emily, site foreman Zeb and his assistant, Travis. Matt suggested the bathtub and surround which look great. Emily produced a detailed design that met or exceeded our expectations for cabinetry, plumbing and electrical fixtures, and towel and grab bars. Zeb and Travis placed protection on walls and flooring and completed pre-construction demolition quickly with minimal disruption. Zeb insulated and drywalled the space, installed cabinets and the shower enclosure, painted the ceiling and walls, and trimmed out the floor, windows, and door. Zeb is an extraordinary craftsman, and this is evident in every aspect of his work.

We worked with Lamont Bros on a remodel of our garage to convert it to an art studio. The building was in reasonable condition but needed full drywall/insulation, windows/door/new garage door, new rafters, and all city permitting. From start to finish, Lamont was a pleasure to work with. Their estimates were easy to follow and they stuck to the budget. They showed up on time and worked diligently and efficiently. The main carpenters on the project - Eddie & Wesley - were a delight to be around. The project manager - Jeremy - stayed in touch with updates and scheduling, and the lead designer - Matt - was well informed, listened and made the process easy. Lamont guided us through our home remodel project from start to finish, and were able to handle our ADA requirements without issue. Jinny and Emily were amazing at helping us in the design phase, by first understanding our requirements and design aesthetic, creating multiple concepts to choose from, and then going through multiple iterations to the final design. There are so many decisions to be made during a remodel, and they were able to narrow down the choices ahead of us and only present those that matched our taste and budget. As for construction, there were a few hiccups, but Lamont took care of everything without hesitation. You can always save money by managing the entire project and contractors yourself, but if you want to save yourself the headache and stress, then Lamont is the way to go.Service: Remodeling

Everyone we worked with from our design consultant, Kerry, to our project manager, Adam, were responsive and helpful. The Lamont Bros. built an addition on our house about 4 years ago. They helped us refine our plans, they got all the permits, and they did a great job on the addition. They were unusual in that they subbed out very little of the project, instead having their own crews perform a majority of the work. The owners, Joseph and David, are friendly, honest, and competent. Their employees are also hardworking, friendly, and competent. We were very impressed and satisfied with the performance of this company, and wouldn't hesitate hiring them again.

We have a $100,000-$140,000 master bathroom remodel project in Camas Wa. After getting several bids, we chose to go with the Lamont brothers because they offered a design team (that included an interior designer and a design consultant) to help with both the layout design as well as the interior design of the bathroom. They offered to provide us with a 3-D rendering of the newly designed bathroom before construction, a project manger that would be on site daily during construction and all sub contractors will have worked with Lamont brothers for years. After handing over our $5,000 deposit, we found that none of these promises were true and the interior design support was a joke. Matt (design consultant) and Jenni (interior designer) were assigned to our project. Very nice people, but had no interest in helping with the interior design portion of the project. We met through zoom three times in the first two months and quickly designed the bathroom layout and completed the construction design portion of our project. After that, their assistance was extremely minimal and not helpful. In the 6 months working with Lamont, I met with the interior designer only once for 30 min and had no further contact. All our communication was with Matt. It was a slow process for us trying to figure things out by ourselves. There was very little feedback and suggestions. It felt as though they had other, more important projects and we were to figure out things on our own. The problem is that we have never designed a bathroom and don’t know what goes with what. After several emails, phone calls, and construction dates getting pushed back, we decided to hire an outside interior designer, at our cost, to assist us. In the first meeting she pointed out several flaws with the construction design and the new location of the bath tub. Even then, we were still trying to make it work. That is until Matt requested another $5,000 to continue their design services with us. That was unbelievable. We felt so neglected and now they want more money. Added to that, through out this whole process we learned that we could not get a 3-D rendering “it was broken”. And all the subs Lamont sent out to bid our job have never worked with Lamont before and the project manger will only come by once a week because we live too far away. We decided we would lose our $5,000 and go with Neil Kelly. And within on meeting, we had more design support then we received in totality from Lamont.Lamont may be a good company in Portland, I don’t know. But if you live outside of Portland, be prepared to be the ugly girl at the party.Service: Remodeling

I reached out to Lamont Bros via email in 2019 for kitchen remodel. Immediately a designer,Basharia replied. We set up a meeting in my home and from that point on we began the kitchen project.Basharia along with her team worked diligently with our budget, the vast differences between my husband and my design philosophies and our quirky house.Jenny listened to my need for additional storage and found a solution.We worked with Cody and Nick in the home through COVID-19 who patiently answered our daily questions. And the best part-no construction mess at the end of the work day. Brenden and Cody kept us posted on timeline changes and went above and beyond to keep the project on track.At the end of the day we absolutely love our new kitchen remodel.I have already retained Lamont Bros on adding a gas fireplace to our great room and then onto a master bathroom/bedroom remodel. I can’t wait to see what Basharia will come up with next.

We used Lamont Bros. in 2020 to do a major addition on our home. It was a difficult decision. Should we invest to make our home fit our growing family's needs or move to a newer, bigger home? Now, with the benefit of hindsight, we are so happy we chose to do the addition. Our space needs are so much better met and we get to stay in a great neighborhood.We added about 225 square feet to a 90 year old home, going from a tight, old kitchen that doubled as a hallway in the middle of our house to a big open space that connects right to our backyard. It's amazing how the home looks like it's been that way forever. It all tied together just as we envisioned it and it even managed to surprise us in the ways it beneficially impacted the way we use other spaces in our home.There will be challenges along the way anytime you do a major project. It's virtually impossible to get all the planning 100% right and anyone considering something like this should know that going in. What you need is a partner that acknowledges that and works with you every step of the way. We had that from Lamont Bros. Thanks to Paddie and Eddie who were there virtually every step of the way. They helped us live with a hole in the middle of our house by taking the work seriously, getting it done as close to on time as possible and communicating with us along the way.I'd say let's do it again soon, buuuuut, I think we're going to kick back and enjoy the outcome for a lifetime or two. :)Services: General construction, Remodeling
