I have been using Universal Roofing & Contracting for many years for my roofing needs on my row home in center city Philadelphia. They're always courteous, professional, and do a nice job. Just remember to follow the guidance for maintaining your roof under warranty to avoid unnecessary expense in the future. It would be great if they could reach out to let you know when maintenance is needed, but at least for now that is on the customer, so I'll set a calendar reminder for next time.

When I scheduled the estimate for breezeway roof and gutter service, the receptionist was courteous. The roof inspector, Joe Taylor was on time and empathic towards my roofing needs.The initial day the roof was to be serviced was delayed due to a snowstorm. Joe called and told me someone would call to reschedule. Well, unfortunately that did not happen. Several days after the service delay and right before an important work virtual meeting, I got a knock on the door. It was Universal Roofing. I was not notified of the rescheduled date.The roof was snow covered and frozen with ice. They shoveled the roof and used a torch to melt the ice... AND MY Internet wires! The roofer did not bother to move the wires that were loose with plenty of slack. Due to the damaged internet wires, I had no internet service and as a result no virtual work meeting.My boss informed me that since I could not work (I needed internet service to work), I had to use personal leave time. Thank God Verizon replaced the damaged wires the following day at no charge. But still, I had to use personal time and for a day had no internet service at my home.The elbow portion of the gutter was replaced and hopefully will not need follow up services to repair the chalk.However, there is now standing water on the roof near the slant and that bothers me. I did not have standing water on the roof prior to Universal services. I hope this does not create a ponding problem on the roof in the future. Some of the water does not slope down as if used to, and I must wait for that water to evaporate.Overall after several weeks that included heavy rain, the breezeway roof has no leaks and issues were resolved in a reasonable amount of time.Services: Gutter repairs, Roof installation

I recently used Jason and the guys from Universal Roofing on a difficult project. The roof was a complete demo from start to finish. The task at hand was extremely tuff and numerous roofing companies shut down the task. In my last attempt of almost giving up , I finally found Jason . I reached out to Universal Roofing and ( wow) I glad I did! They were extremely punctual, professional and knowledgeable on my roof. Having the guys at my property was like having family there. I will make sure I use them in my future projects and plans. They saved me a huge headache.

I have used Universal Roofing twice for my home. One time to replace my roof on both my main roof and sunporch and to replace the siding on my house. The team show up on time and got the job done fast! They sent me the before and after pictures so that I could see what had been done. The prices are very reasonable and comes with a warranty. Joe was my guy and he has always been very professional and honest about what I need and if there could be any potential extra costs based on the extensive damage I had. I had roof damage after a hurricane came through and needed a whole new roof because of the age of the old roof. Joe Taylor was extremely helpful and professional through the whole process - he gave me a fair quote and helped me deal with the insurance company once we signed the contract. He was always available to help with any questions I had.The team came out and totally replaced my roof in 2 days - this included removing 5 layers of old roof going back to cedar shingles. I had my siding and roof done June/July 2021 to address a leak in my indoor porch. I received quotes from several different companies and decided to go with Universal. They weren’t the cheapest or the most expensive, nice price for the scope of work. It took about two to three weeks to get started, and about a month to complete. I wasn’t upset about the start time, seeing as there is a labor shortage and all. I was upset about how long it took to complete the job. I spoke with the owner directly throughout the process. The quality of work was an issue initially. However, the owner was very responsive, took responsibility, addressed all of my concerns, and in the end, I was very satisfied. Contacted Universal roofing for estimate. Joe Taylor came to my house and took photos of what needed to be done. A very fair price was given and a date was set up to start my roofing project. Repair men arrived on the date that was promised and were very professional and courteous. After working very hard they finished the roofing and cleaned up and removed all materials that were left over. In addition, they took photos of the completed work which showed what was done as the contract explained. Very happy with this experience. We used universal to do a flat roof and wall last year. Good price and they were very efficient. This year we needed some roof work done on a shingle roof as well as putting up new siding. Price was right and they did everything in one day. Joe is great to work with on estimates! Several neighbors have used them after we referred them and all were happy as well. We're in the Mt airy neighborhood. It's nice to have a go to company that I trust.

This is the 2nd home we had Universal Roofing & Contracting, Inc. install and I cannot be more happy. 4 months later and the roof is without issues. My neighbor went with another company and it took them 8 days and they fired them. Universal was here at 7 am and were finished by 3 pm. Same size roof. I cannot tell you how happy my wife and I are with their work. I researched Universal Roofing after discovering my prior roofer had installed an improper roof and tried to pass it off as work that was acceptable. Universal assessed my needs, and were very professional throughout the entire process. They quoted me a fair price, that included a custom ordered skylight replacement. The work was done on time and I now have a functioning and proper roof. I would highly recommend Universal Roofing, it's clear that they take pride in their work, and unfortunately professionals like Universal are hard to come by.

Worked closely with the Universal Roofing and Contracting Team after we moved into a house that needed a complete roof replacement. The experience was nothing but amazing. I worked closely with Jim to schedule and the team that came out was prompt, thorough, informative and precise.The team replaced the entire roof in half a day and the the work was pristine.Too boot, It rained shortly after the replacement and there was some standing water / puddling on the roof. I sent a picture to Jim, the team came back out and made some custom / ad hoc changes to the roof to make sure it slopped a bit more and ran directly into the gutter. Again great additional work to make sure everything was up to their standard.The team's work the first time around was great, the roof has a minimal slope which made for a tough install but even more importantly they didn't stop until the work was done to both their and my satisfaction.Even their patch work, i.e. wrapping pipes and covering corners on the roof was very impressive.I would highly recommend. I had several estimates and I did not necessarily go with the lowest price, I picked a roofer that had good reviews and if they were knowledgeable. I did not want someone to just sell me a bill of goods. I would use Universal again in a heartbeat . In addition, I had a minor issue, but it was resolved in a timely manner.
