Morning star came to the rescue and clean everything, removed all damaged items and restored my house and made it look brand new. The crew was very responsible, responsive knowledgeable. Man did I get lucky... I had a pipe fitting go bad above the ceiling in our home and the entire 2nd bedroom ceiling caved in. What a mess! to top it all off, ants had somehow found their way up to and around the leak and there were thousands on the floor that night. My plumber of at All about Plumbing recommended a friend of his over at Morningstar. Luis Aguilar came out ASAP to assess and very clearly and calmly (because I was not) explained all would be well. Luis is an excellent communicator and customer service is definitely his forte. Anyway, he walked me through the process and communicated with my insurance company as needed. His subs that came out did a great job and went over and above. The entire bedroom and adjacent bathroom was remodeled and restored to better than their previous condition. Subs were courteous and professional. At the end, all was as Luis said it would be and all I had to pay was my deductible. FYI, I had a little issue I created myself that caused the entire NEW bedroom carpet to have to be replaced. Luis had his guys come out and R&R the carpet and the cost was more than fair and reasonable. So glad I used Morningstar but really it's Luis that made the difference.Service: Water damage-related cleanup & repair

Our house was destroyed by a fire in March, 2021, a situation we’ve never dealt with before. We searched the BBB and called Morningstar Restoration. Luis Aguilar came out and provided guidance and walked us through the next steps. We signed on with Morningstar for the site remediation / clean-up initially. Based on the quality of work, expertise and Luis’ excellent communication, we also signed up for them to rebuild the house. Luis worked directly with the insurance adjuster on estimates. He also recommended some floor plan changes that we accepted to make the house more modern. Luis handled most aspects of the re-build such as picking out flooring, cabinets, countertops, bathroom fixtures and finishes since we live out of state and planned to sell the property after the work was completed. Luis was very communicative and responsive via text and calls as needed. I would highly recommend getting in touch with Morningstar and requesting Luis to work on whatever project you may have.

I called Morningstar Restoration after the pipes above my kitchen and dining room broke during the freeze causing extensive water damage. They put me on the schedule and a week later came out to do the water damage clean-up. Luis Aguilar, the Project Manager, was there and oversaw the clean-up. The crew was fast, courteous and complied with all of the COVID 19 CDC guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing whenever possible.Luis was very knowledgeable and explained to me the process of what should be expected with the insurance company and the rebuild. He took many pictures and also put together the estimates that were requested by my insurance claims adjuster.Once the estimate was approved, Luis put me on the scheduled to quickly start work on my house. The crews that came were all very professional and cleaned up before they left each day. The work was completed in about a month and I believe that was very timely considering all that was done. Luis responded quickly to any concerns I had and any touch up/fixes that were needed.I would have liked more communication on who and what time to expect the crews each day they were to be at my house since I had to make sure that someone was there to let them in.Overall I had a great experience with Morningstar Restoration and would recommend them as well as use them again. I had busted water pipes during the hard freeze that flooded my house while I was at work. It was 5:00 in the morning and I had no idea what to do! After looking online a bit I found Morningstar Restoration and based on the reviews I found I decided to call them. I called about 6:30 in the morning and by 8:30 Luis was at our home. He gave us an idea of what would need to be done to mitigate any further damage. He was very familiar with the process of dealing with the homeowner’s insurance, which was great because I was clueless! He took a lot of pictures to document the damage which was a relief when I realized that I had not taken any. After our first meeting, I didn’t even call any other company. I felt very competent that Luis with Morningstar Restoration was definitely the best choice to help us get our home back!By 9:30 the same morning Luis had a crew at our house removing baseboards, insulation, carpet padding, etc. His crew moved furniture to dry areas and raise larger furniture off the ground so that nothing was damaged and they set up fans and dehumidifiers to dry out our home. Every person that was working at our home that day was so respectful and hard-working. On one of the worst days of my life, Luis and his crew made it as good as it possibly could have been.After the insurance adjuster came out, Luis did another walk through of our home and found many things that were missing or incorrect on the insurance company’s estimate. The insurance company wanted to clean and reinstall our existing carpet but because Luis was able to document with pictures and communicate his concerns, the insurance company agreed to replace the carpet. Luis promptly put together a supplement to the insurance company requesting additional repairs including pictures of the items of concern. Luis has been amazing at helping us through step by step on how to deal with the insurance company.Luis is always available to answer any question I have and has been helpful in making decisions regarding flooring, paint, etc. He has worked hard to get the repairs done and get our family back in our home as fast as possible, yet never made me feel rushed in making any decision. The repairs to our home have been absolutely amazing. From the sheetrock repairs and painting, to the flooring, and carpentry, every area has exceeded my expectations. I cannot begin to express how impressed I am with each and every worker that has been a part of the repairs. They have been so courteous and clean up regularly throughout the process. They are the hardest working guys I have probably ever seen!I highly recommend Morningstar Restoration!

They were extremely efficient to get the wall cut out when we had an upstairs leak and dry.However now we have been trying for over a week to get ahold of Luis to complete the project. Finally we had an appointment this morning between 9-10 and he never showed. After a call to Luis and Morning Star i received a call back from Luis stating he doesn’t even need to come by to give us a quote now and I just need to send him a picture.I just want the hole in my ceiling completed and it’s been like pulling teeth to get it done.

It’s with great appreciation that I recommend the work that Morningstar Restoration has done for our family. The Dickinson house had 29” of water from Hurricane Harvey. Prior to getting with Morningstar, we were only able to get some initial remediation done by other sources, and it was not done very well. After Morningstar and Luis Aguilar, Project Manager, got involved professional work began!Our situation was quite complicated, to say the least (extensive damage, someone still living in the house unadvisedly, the persons responsible for coordinating the work living out of town, etc.), but Luis was extremely cooperative in communicating with us, scheduling meetings to accommodate out of town travel, and providing samples of materials from which we might choose.Morningstar did extensive mold remediation work that enabled us to get a passing independent mold inspection prior to beginning the actual restoration work. Mr. Aguilar’s method of detailing the scope of work was very extensive and specific, coordinating very precisely with the system used by the insurance company. The work was beautifully done! All the cabinetry was custom made; and the floor tile installation and painting were precisely done, as well as all the plumbing and appliance installation. He was always willing to accommodate the additional work we decided to include after we saw how well his own crews (not contracted crews) completed their work.The value of the work that was done was exceptional! We did have an estimate from another contractor and know that what we got from Morningstar was substantially more extensive and superior to what would have been obtained elsewhere. It was also very reassuring the way payments were made. There was never any concern that Morningstar was going to run off with a huge prepaid amount. Fairly early on, we paid $5,000 to cover the ordering of the floor tile that would be used. After certain amounts of work were done, Mr. Aguilar would notify us that we needed to cover that work (usually a $10,000 payment). Then at project completion, the final balance was paid.Our dealings with Mrs. Mercedes Aguilar in the office were also very good.Anyone should feel confident of the work done by Morningstar Restoration and Luis Aguilar! This is an honest, competent, and skilled company that can manage an extensive project that has numerous associated difficulties. We are very pleased and thankful!

One little break in a copper pipe and water went from the top to the bottom of our house during the freeze last year. Fortunately, we called Morningstar Restoration. Luis and Mercedes responded immediately and began cleaning up and tearing out. They also worked with us on rebuilding: new cabinets, sheetrock, trim, paint, countertops, etc. and did a wonderful job. Work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Supervisor, Luis Aguilar, handled all aspects of the project including coordinating all the specialty contractors and communicating with the insurance company involved. All contractor crews were safety conscious, wearing face masks and maintaining safe social distances. Communication with Morning Star was good throughout the project. If you ever find yourself in need of a restoration company due to water damage or anything that you will need to file a claim against your homeowner's insurance company, do not hesitate to give these guys a call (and ask to be assigned Luis A.).We had a water drainage pipe break that caused flooding on the second floor, damage in-between floor boards and walls. We were recommended to Morningstar Restoration by our plumber (Mr. Rooter).Luis A., was the project manager on my job and was the easiest person to deal with during the whole ordeal. During the remediation process they were careful, clean and organized while removing and cutting through the sheetrock, crown molding and carpet. When the insurance claim appraiser tried to dismiss getting our carpet replaced with a simple steam cleaning budget and our insurance adjuster refused to speak with us any further regarding the situation, it was Luis who stepped up and provided the necessary documentation and contacted them directly to help resolve the discrepancy in estimates. Within a week, they covered the replacement of the carpet.Luis A. and the whole staff at Morningstar Restoration made sure this process was as easy on me as possible. I would highly recommend them anytime.

Quick response. They used devices to locate all water in walls. They conserved as much of our valuables as possible in a very extensive water pipe leak. They cut walls and baseboards and carefully dried all walls and ceilings,, removing wet insulation and locating all sources of leaks. Very complete and professional job. They also answered all questions.We thought that they provided an excellent service. It has been like pulling teeth to get the repair final to any sort of standard. Not only was the original work delayed much longer than expected, it required many additional trips to repair the incorrect items. And to top it off, they didn't even repair the toilet correctly resulting in my ceiling collapsing downstairs, dragging it out even further. Project manager Luis was basically MIA throughout the process relying only on his guys to do the right thing and i couldnt even communicate with them due to language barriers. Save yourself the frustration and pay a little more upfront for a better company.
