Jake took on a difficult transfer case issue that no one else wanted to get involved with or work on. If he wouldn’t have taken this on we would have had to get rid of our vehicle. At A.R.D, handshake deals still matter and they keep their word. It was a completely painless process from start to finish. I used to run a Service Dept and I couldn’t be happier with the result. We were stranded in the Uinta mountains with a dead battery/alternator. Jake came to our rescue helping us get back to Kamas and to his shop where he sourced and installed a new battery and alternator within no time. It was the weekend and technically his shop was closed but he went above and beyond to help us. This type of service is very rare these days and he went out of his way to help us get our van fixed. What an amazing experience! In a couple of days, the ARD team took a dinky old Land Cruiser and completely changed its personality. For the looks — it's now sitting on 33" tires and a 2.5" Old Man Emu lift; for drivability — wow, it's smooth, tracks as straight as an arrow and the transmission much prefers the bigger tires. And, I had photos coming in as the build progressed. Made it feel like I was there in the shop. Added them to this post.This truck has been in a few times time (for everything from oil changes, to drivetrain work). Jake has diagnosed a few areas of the drivetrain that I totally overlooked; axle pinion and t-case seals. It's obvious he loves these trucks and wants to help us all keep them ticking for as long as possible.If you run an old Toyota out here in Utah, you've got to shoot the ARD a note, meet the team and checkout the shop! If you own a 4wd Toyota, it’s really in your best interest to buddy up with the guys at ARD. I could easily post 5 different reviews with 5 different 5-star experiences but here’s the most relevant one; In 2019, Jake and the crew at ARD swapped a fresh 5.3L Vortec into my 86’ FJ60, and I can promise you, It was worth the wait and worth every penny. Within months of completion my wife and I embarked on a 100-day tour of the west coast in the new cruiser. A trip that big can’t go without complication, but Jake was always quick to respond. It’s not hard to find a shop that can turn a wrench, but finding a shop that will drop everything on a Friday night and drive for hours to help get you back on the road wins my business every time. A few Issues arose that were not ARD’s fault but nonetheless, Jake was quick to collect the cruiser, make adjustments to the system, and get us back up and running. Since we were one of the first swaps from the ARD garage we initially found it to be running a little hot. After raising my concerns I was thoroughly impressed that ARD took the cruiser back in and totally overhauled the cooling system. They even expedited the whole service to match my schedule. Now it runs nice and cool even at 60mph up high-mountain canyons. That experience really speaks to the integrity of their work and the unmatched level of customer service. About a year later I’m sitting with over 14,000 miles on the swap and it has certainly stood the test of time. Jake has been amazing to work with. Do not work here, they may treat their customers great, but a family member of mine worked here and dealt with physical hazing from management, was offered alcohol on the job as a minor, and another Co-worker seriously, I'mnot joking, offered them illegal drugs. Monday June 28th 2020 was my first visit to A Rusted Development. Jake had a 1997 FJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser for sell. See photos. I have been looking for this particular year and model. With no luck in Salt Lake City due to long lead times for garage time, I got Jakes number from another Land Cruiser specialist in SLC and as luck would have it, A Rusted Development was close to me. I ordered a Front Runner SL2 Roof Rack for my 100s, had it delivered to Jake and his crew really took good care of me. Not only did he do the installation, we enjoyed getting to know each other and Jake gave several good suggestions and advice for my ride. Made a new friend! Ill be back! The battery in my Honda Element died. After AAA started it, I drove down the road to the shop. It was 5:30. Jake met me outside one of the bays. I explained the situation, thinking the previous shop was still there. Jake said, "They closed their doors at 5:00 and we are the new owners." Without missing a beat, Jake said he'd get me a new battery and change it on the spot. A Rusted Development gave me stickers and t-shirt. (Seriously, how could there be a better name for a restoration shop?) Jake and his team are my new go-to. Kamas just got really lucky with this crew in town. Jake and the guys at A Rusted Development are awesome! I took my truck to them after Toyota, themselves, could not fix a problem I was having with my 4wd.
