It has been since August 17, 2022, or ONE YEAR PLUS ONE MONTH since my floors were damaged by water. State Farm uses a company called Alacrity Solutions, that provide a supposedly vetted network of contractors. One of these contractors, Coastal Construction, was put on the job. Service Master came and dried the concrete slab after removing some flooring. The manager/contractor/finance guy of Coastal Construction wanted the whole check State Farm gave me for the damage. UPFRONT! Not incremental payments as parts of the job were completed. I handed over the WHOLE CHECK. Real rookie mistake. You should refuse to do this. State Farm's own website advises against turning over the whole check up front.Delay after delay. Excuse after excuse. The latest excuse, Lowe's hasn't contacted Coastal Construction that the flooring is available. We called Lowe's directly. Lowe's states that as of today, they hold 355 boxes of the style of flooring as of September 19, 2023 at 7pm, at their distribution center. There has been a metal storage container (similar to a POD) in my driveway FOR TWO MONTHS. This container holds most all of my household goods. Note that Coastal Construction estimated 8 hours (EIGHT HOURS) to move the contents of one bedroom out of the room to another room and back into that same room. This is called "content manipulation". This does NOT include moving the furniture out of the house and into the POD in the driveway of my 1000 square feet, ONE STORY HOUSE. State Farm accepted this estimate, and Coastal Construction took the money. See attached pictures of what my house looks like ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH after the flooding event on August 17, 2022. Today is Wednesday, September 20, 2023.If you decide to go with this company, State Farm, or their contractor network company called Alacrity, do your due diligence and proceed with caution. There is one other Google review that gives two stars. You need to find and read it along with this one.Complaining to your State Farm agent produces little result. Complaining to the State Farm adjuster produces little result.Under consideration is calling the local TV station, calling an attorney, filing a complaint with Virginia Department of Profession and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), filing a complaint with Virginia State Corporation Commission.State Farm is willing to write the check for the repairs, even, in my opinion, hideously inflated labor hours.Who is going to replace ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH of your life, walking on a concrete slab, while all your household goods are ROASTING in a metal box in your driveway, so you have to park on the street?I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO AVOID USING COASTAL CONSTRUCTION AND ELECTRIC COMPANY OUT OF CHESTERFIELD, VA.As per phone conversation with State Farm Insurance Company, State Farm was notified by Alacrity Solutions, a company State Farm uses to assist claimants in getting repairs done by matching claimants with local construction companies, that Alacrity Solutions has removed Coastal Construction from their provider list. We had Coastal replace our roof after tree damage. Michael was wonderful following the insurance company and keeping us updated as we were passed from one claims adjuster to another. Michael always knew what was happening when we couldn’t get an answer from the insurance company.Jake was very professional, he paid attention to details and it showed with the crew. If they saw something wrong, the fixed it, not just cover it up. Jake was right there on the roof looking for problems and inspecting the work.Services: Roof repair, Roof installation

Coastal was assigned as our contractor via State Farm’s Premier Service’s Program after our house was hit by lightning which destroyed our entire HVAC system and started a fire in the attic. They did a good job in the initial weeks getting electricity back on and repairing damaged rafters. They have some good young trades, but as time went on it became clear their project management was poor. I had to identify work that had to be done, remind them of schedule requirements, and even insist they use contractors to do work that they couldn’t/wouldn’t or hire the contractors myself. The most egregious was when they sent two workers to insulate the attic. They installed R19 sidewall rated insulation upside down and left 80% of the attic with no insulation, then billed me for having done a complete job. I hired an insulation company directly who removed their insulation, reinstalled it properly, then blew in insulation to get it to the specified R50 rating. We will not use Coastal again.

My family had a water leak emergency. After following up w our insurance company, we contacted Coastal and we are so glad we did. Mr. Lampro has always been very professional and responsive and the contracts did a WONDERFUL job. Our bathroom looks like a hotel spa. Our floors look better than new. Finding Coastal was a real blessing. We truly can not thank them enough. If you are looking for professionalism, excellent quality and customer service you should definitely choose Coastal. Outstanding service after water leak damage to kitchen and basement. All trades were excellent - flooring replacement, drywall, painting, carpet cleaning. Customer service was great, keeping us informed, accommodating our scheduling needs, and dealing with insurance company. Highly recommend.

Mike and his crew swept in and saved the day when our old contractors were taking weeks in order to get started with our water mitigation disaster. No hot water for two months until they stepped in and we had it three days later!
