HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH GUARDIAN HOME IMPROVEMENTS FOR 18 MONTHS AND IT'S STILL NOT OVER!!We had a new DaVinci shake roof installed in November 2022. No quality control or oversite of the installation was done by Guardian during or after the installation and there were massive flaws with the installation. We contacted them as soon as we noticed issues with the roof. They did not reply after many emails and phone calls. It took months and us contacting their vendor to finally get anyone to reply or address our concerns.Once they finally had their manager out, they said the issues were purely cosmetic. We forced their hand when we got an independent roof inspection done which proved there were several serious issues, right down to the starter shakes (1st row) being installed backwards.On August 3, 2023 we reached an agreement on which of the more serious repairs would take place, signing a contract with everything itemized.In mid-October, they had a 2 employees out off and on for a few weeks then they disappeared – leaving additional damage to our gutters and newly painted siding and deck. There was no contact from Guardian other than the weather doesn’t allow for them to finish their work.We tried several additional times to coordinate them coming back out. Their last communication was on December 22, 2023 saying they were shorthanded and had other repairs that required their immediate attention.Two weeks ago, April 23, 2024, we sent them another email asking if they would complete the repairs by May 30, 2024 or if they would prefer that we hire another roofing contractor and have Guardian pay for it. Radio silence. This will likely end up in court since they have refused to reply, repair, or provide a concession for the problems they caused with a poor installation in 2022. We will be in contact the Better Business Bureau next.Just a few images below for reference.

We resided our home and after looking at a number of options, we decided to go with Guardian Home Improvement. Very glad we did because everything was first rate from start to finish. Patrick was the initial contact and could not have been more helpful in getting everything in place - materials, colors, price. Yang's crew did the actual job and it could not have gone better. An excellent top notch crew. Josh was the job supervisor and he stayed in constant contact to make sure every detail was taken care of to our satisfaction. I chose Guardian to re-side my garage and install a large picture window. I was very happy with the work that was done. The crews that came out were professional and clean. They really did leave the area better than when they got here. There were no problems with either installation. I would highly recommend the team over at Guardian!

I talked to Patrick about a new roof and windows. Patrick was extremely knowledgeable and recommended the best options to improve my home and fit by budget. Guardian was able to preserve my existing roof by coating it, providing me with a "new" roof at half the price. The roof looks great! My new windows also look great, work great, are keeping out the cold. Even though my window frames were not of standard measure, the installers Jim and Josh made the extra effort to ensure my windows were properly framed and installed. I'm really pleased with how everything turned out.

Updating: Went from 2 stars to 1, it has been over 3 months since Guardian finally got in contact with me and still no solution. They tried two ways to fix my roof and unfortunately it made it look worse. It has now been almost a month since the last attempt. After not hearing anything from the last solution attempt, I reached out to the Production Manager on 10/9 and spoke with someone else over the phone who said they would talk with the PM and get back to me on next steps and I have not heard back as of 10/24.Reached out last October for a coating to be done on our roof. The up front customer service was great and they came out shortly after initial contact. Once contract was signed and deposit received the communication was poor and I had to keep following up. They came out right before year end and applied the coating.The coating was applied poorly in multiple spots and are overly shiny and can be seen from down the road. The company has been called twice to discuss options and I always get forwarded to production and no one ever picks up and I leave a voice-mail and get told it will be returned in 24 hours. The most recent call was a week ago and I have not heard back. Disappointing after the beginning started off so promising.

Mr John Jones was very respectful and explain the Guardian information simple and how shingles , flashing, under lay sheeting and ice sheeting works. Without pressure was so unsure of prior decisions. It became apparent I could complete this project without adding to the landfill by repairs and Cericade system. I highly recommend getting a quote from Guardian Home Improvements. The cericade roof system looks great and saved me a lot of money. Everyone was helpful and nice to work with. Very excited to have new Cericade roof coating applied. Josiah was great to work with, in alleviating my worries. Guardian did an awesome job finding and correcting a leak first. Then cleaning and prepping house for application. The steel siding and new Pella windows were well covered and protected. Roof looks great and get 35 year transferable warranty. Why throw shingles into the landfill when the life can be extended well into future??? Reflects UV light and better for environment. A win-win! My project:I was in need of a complete roof tear-off and a new roof installation on both my home and garage roofs. I found their company via the Valpak Coupons. I reviewed this company on line and with the BBB. This is a 5 star company!Patrick Fay from Guardian Home Improvements came out to my home for a roof inspection and quote estimate. He was on time and very polite. He was very helpful by taking pictures of my current roofs and chimney area. He explained the problem areas he noted on the roof and chimney area. Patrick even came back to my home with shingle samples and provided me help picking out just the right shingle for my home. Patrick was not pushy, very honest, thorough and knowledgeable with the information he provided to all of my questions. Patrick has displayed much compassion to my current situation. He followed up with me via phone, text and email from start to finish!Installation Day:The company had a delay on another job so I was notified that my home roofing installation would occur the next day. The crew started at 7 am and finished at 6:30 pm. The crew worked very hard and as a skilled team all day long. They were very careful and particular with their work. They provided quality work! The clean up was very complete on my property when they were done! They went above and beyond throughout the entire day!I do have to note:They initially had delivered the wrong color shingles by mistake. I had notified Patrick and he quickly corrected the situation for me. While waiting for the new shingle delivery the crew was able to keep the roofing project moving along.Even during the installation when I had questions I had sent Patrick pictures of my questions and Patrick responded quickly to ease my anxiety and clarify the installation process. He had followed up with me after the installation and came to my home for a final examination of the work provided. He also had provided more pictures of the completed roof!Patrick's communication style is very special! He cares about the customer's he serves. He displays that he truly respects and values the company he works for and wants each homeowner to receive quality work at a fair price! So thank you Patrick from the bottom of my heart! Honestly, I came to the meeting extremely skeptical and worried about a large catch in the "free" solar energy set up... But meeting with John Jones today really clarified a lot and explain in great detail how it works, zero cost to the consumer. Not only was he informative and knowledgeable, he was very connective and brutally honest and wide open to sharing his true opinions which allowed me to open up my trust with him. No gimics and no sleezy sales pitching, just factural conversation and tremendous effort on his part to make sure I'm completely educated and confident in making an educated decision. I am happy to make my move to solar, and grateful that it was John that they chose to send out to my house. I hope they have many more like him, otherwise, I suggest directly requesting for John Jones to be your point of contact if you're looking to get off the grid!

Guardian just finished a siding and gutter job for us. We are very happy with the project and would like to call out a few people that made the project run smoothly. Patrick Fay – great / honest salesman, Tracy Reid and John for keeping the project moving and checking to make sure all was done correctly. Would also like to thank Bobby for working on the gutters and getting them in a much better position and functional then they were and so happy they got fixed before the 1st snow fall. I used Guardian services to get my roof ready for the Solar Project. Guardian team is high quality and i have been pleased with their work. They have innovative roofing solution "Cericade Fortification System" that every homeowner that is thinking about Solar project should consider. it's efficient, cost effective (1/3 cost of regular shingles) and provide you peace of mind with big capex solar project. Solar installer also shared that they had better traction on the roof while installing the solar PVs.

While waiting on the insurance company, we were expecting heavy rain, and he graciously offered to tarp my roof to keep the water out. I was having trouble with a contractor that was trying to take advantage of me and my disabled husband in northern Wisconsin, I contacted Guardian Home Improvement by mistake, looking for some advice. Even though Guardian Home Improvement does not operate this far north, Patti H was more than willing to help me, she took her time explaining contractor contacts and state laws. She also emailed me to follow up and check on me. Because of Patti’s help we were able to get out of the contact with the sneaky contractor. I would absolutely do business with Guardian Home Improvement, They were kind and understanding to someone they knew the minute they took my call they would not be getting a contract with or money from and they were terrific! Imagine that care and concern from your contractor when you are going through something stressful, how wonderful it would be to have someone watching out for you. Thank you Patti for going above and beyond!

Added 3/26/24 - here we are another spring, another year after this whole project started and now the paint is two tone in the front as well as looks like it is dripping (which I complained about in Oct/Nov when they decided to repaint when I told them not too due to weather) and the paint is bubbling, which is what happened last year. Why can't this company get it right? I have had them out to my house to fix so many times i cannot count. They do nothing like they say they will nor do they care what the customer is asking. I was told the siding being fixed (AGAIN) will be all one piece, but nope they still did it in pieces which makes it look horrible. I told them I didn't want a six inch piece of siding with a gap, again, NOPE they did not care. Worst company I have dealt with. I emailed the production manager Patti last year and she has ignored my emails. I hope now I can talk to a higher up manger/owner that will actually respond and rectify this as it should be.I have done many renovations on my house over the last year and this was by far the worst experience I have had. I had siding replacement done and siding painting. I have had to continually follow up with them to check the status. I was lied to. They told me that production stated it would be ready in two weeks. I call a month later (because I didn't hear anything from anyone) and I was told then, they needed to reach out to production and guess what, it was another two weeks. They really didn't talk to production the first time. The work done by the contractor they used had to have them come out three times to fix things. They got paint on my brand new windows and screens, missed many spots, etc etc etc. The manager of the contractor was very pushy wanting me to OK the job to collect the money, when I said no, he got unprofessional. Guardian employees ended up fixing it, which I did appreciate. I let others know at Guardian of my experience and not one call by management or anything to check to understand what happened nor provide any discount for the inconvenience. Not recommend them at all. The only reason I am giving two stars is the professionalism of the salesman.Adding to this review, because now SIX MONTHS later, the business finally decides to respond to my review. So if something didn't go wrong and had to come back out to fix, i would never hear a response? Never heard a beep from them after complaining last year. While I appreciate now they are fixing the paint peeling and bubbling as well as loose siding replacements, the process to do this was ridiculous. All I asked was for communication. Again, that was lacking. I had to call many times for follow up. Started this end of May and finally now in mid August, it is getting done (the one worker they have doing this (i was told it was a team) is awesome and very nice). This company really needs to work on communication. Once they get your money, you never hear from them unless you follow up. I had to get a manager involved to get some communication and even that sometimes didn't go a long way. Hopefully the repaint and siding fix will hold up, otherwise, it seems I will need to take more drastic measures.

A couple of years or so ago I had a leak in my roof, called Guardian. They fixed it and there was no further problem. Now with another leak and an older roof I again called Guardian. Patrick came the next business day. He listened and explained the options to me. Big decision to make. To buy me some time in making my decision Patrick made a minor repair to the problem area. I'm very grateful and will definitely call Guardian when I decide the next step.
