We we’re staying not far the park and decided to visit for a short drive around the park. So glad we did. Very beautiful. Really nice camping areas.

This park is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back after our 3 night stay at Sandy Beach Dune. Our spot was right on the water but since the water level is lower this year the beach activities were further away. Be aware spots near the shore lines have a ton of ants. They do not bite you but are on everything and everywhere. The beach was absolutely clean and the views were incredible.

So much better than just going to Horsetooth where it's constantly crowded and there's never reservations. Very beautiful lake with amazing, clean camping. I'll definitely be back.

Glendo is a beautiful place to stay with lots of different options for camping. We have been going there for 30 plus years. You can stay at Sandy Beach so you are close to the lake or way up on the cliffs at Two Moons so you can take full advantage of the magnificent sunsets. There are many different areas to camp all around the lake. There is also lots of boat ramps to put in at. This changes as the they let water out, but they keep you informed which ones are closed. The lake is large so driving your watercraft around is not much of an issue with people everywhere, although it does get crowded on the weekends and especially the holidays. There are pit bathrooms located conveniently around the campsites as well as big dumpsters as you are leaving so you can keep your area clean easily. There are fire pits with grills so you can cook, but it seems to me that there has been a constant fire ban for at least the last 5 or 6 years. My biggest two gripes is that before Sept. 30th you have to have a reservation to stay. Even if the entire campground is empty. No reservation, no stay. We wanted to stay an extra day this last week and even tho the nice lady at the check-in booth said no one would be in the spot we were at for a couple weeks we would either have to call or go on line and make a reservation for the extra night. You used to be able to pull in, find a spot and go back to tell them where you were and pay for your spot. There were a few spots that were reservation only. That was so much nicer and easier. Also, there are lots of places to plug in if you have a camper or motorhome, but no quiet place if you are just a tent camper. We had 3 campers around us, one left their generator going all day until 10pm which is the quiet time cut off. The others had them off and on throughout the evening. It would be nice to have an area where no generators were allowed so you could actually enjoy the peace and quiet of true camping.

Always a beautiful experience! Had fun hiking. Even with the water levels down, still enough water to kayakDog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash

Excellent park, highly recommend. Stayed in Reno Cove Campground, site no. 21 which is close to the boat ramp on the southwest part of the park. Two nights mid-week during late August. I loved the site. The park was not very busy probably due to it being the middle of the week but I felt very secluded and am not sure I would have been able to see my neighbors if I had any. I like to kayak and having access to the nearby boat ramp to access the lake was nice because the lake is so low that there are not many places to access the lake otherwise (at least not in the area I was in). Bathrooms were well kept. Drinking water was nearby and clean. Will definitely come back.

This is a very large state park and is very popular with those who enjoy boating and water sports. Most of the camping spots are dry camping. There is reasonable space between sites. Pit toilets are the norm for all camping areas. There are camping fire pits for most sites. Reservations are required for all camp areas. As of today, there are no campfire restrictions

The most scenic state park I've ever been to out of all the states I've visited. Photos do not do it justice. Wyoming has definitely left a beautiful impression upon us. Awesome campsites, although we wish more of them had power hookups available. Lots to see and do here! If we return to Wyoming we will definitely visit this park again! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay. Nice big sites. Though the quiet hours were not observed nor enforced. The campsite was dirty with trash. It was overall unkept. Beautiful lake. Very busy. Lots of boating.

Fantastic area. Love Two Moons Campground, situated on a bluff in trees above the lake. The electric sites are away from the bluff but easy walking distance. The other sites are incredible.

Such an amazing park. The campsites are kind of on top of each other, but other than that had a great time!

Glendo is a shockingly beautiful oasis in the high desert and is easily accessible via i25. The scenery and lake are gorgeous and the campsite we stayed at had a great, sandy beach, well thought out sites and clean toilets. There are miles and miles of hiking/biking trails and there's excellent variety of terrain in the park - high-plains scrubland, wetlands, sandy beaches, red sandstone canyons, pine forests, etc. We took kayaks out on the water and found a private beach of our own to spend the afternoon at. If you like the water and beach aspect of Lake McConaughey but want smaller crowds and more things to do, check out Glendo.

A warm swimming hole in Wyoming! There are lots of activities from epic mountain biking to warm water sports, but we were here for a sandy beach and warm water swimming. We went towards the end ofJuly, and the water wasn't just swimmable, it was legit warm. There are signs leading you to the sandy beach, about a twenty minute drive from the entrance to the park. There are multiple restrooms, campgrounds, grills, and picnic tables at the sandy beach, but they are not well maintained. I should take off a star or two for that, but it's just about the only warm water swimming area for hundreds of miles around, so I'll still give it a huge thumps up for that.

We stayed in a yurt in late March. The park is lovely and so much fun. The yurts are cold. Prepare for cold weather but otherwise it was a great time.

Major slick and the Motorhome sliding off the Road. Thanks to Lee's towing. It took two Dodge SS to pull the Ford out. The park ranger took me to a hard surface spot for the night.

We absolutely love Glendo State Park. Beautiful lake with picturesque campsites . Sunsets we're amazing from the Two Moons campsite. Great singletrack MTB trails with lots of options depending on skill levels. The Sandy Dune Beach is a great place to soak in the sun and it has a great little cove that is perfect for paddle boarding.

This has become one of my favorite places to camp in late June / July. Sandy beaches with volleyball games, dune buggies and hundreds of social people meeting old and new friends for jet ski, boating and more off the beach.Love the new owners. The Marina has anything you forgot and more.Make reservations 3 months in advance for a chance during peak season. It's off exit 111 on I25 in Glendo, Wyoming.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Glendo State Park for a day trip, and I must say it was an absolute delight. Nestled in the heart of nature, this park offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My primary intention was to enjoy a peaceful picnic by the shore, and Glendo State Park exceeded my expectations in every way.As I arrived at the park, I was immediately struck by the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. Towering trees, rolling hills, and the shimmering waters of the lake created a picturesque backdrop that set the stage for a perfect day out. The park's well-maintained pathways and signage made it easy to navigate, ensuring that I could focus on immersing myself in the natural splendor around me.After finding an ideal spot to set up my picnic, I took a moment to breathe in the fresh air and listen to the sounds of nature. The calmness of the lake and the distant calls of birds instantly put me at ease, allowing me to unwind and relax in this tranquil oasis. I couldn't help but be grateful for the opportunity to escape into such a peaceful setting. The picnic facilities at Glendo State Park were top-notch. Ample picnic tables and benches were scattered throughout the area, offering comfortable seating for visitors. The shaded areas provided respite from the sun, making it a pleasant place to spend a leisurely afternoon. The park's cleanliness and well-maintained grounds added to the overall positive experience.Of course, the highlight of my day was the picturesque shoreline that stretched out before me. The sandy beach, bordered by the crystal-clear waters of the lake, was a sight to behold. I couldn't resist taking out my camera to capture the natural beauty that surrounded me. The reflections of the sun on the water created a mesmerizing display, and I found myself lost in the moment as I photographed the enchanting landscape.Glendo State Park also offers a range of recreational activities for those seeking adventure. Boating, fishing, hiking, and camping opportunities abound, ensuring that visitors of all interests can find something to enjoy. While I primarily focused on my picnic and photography, it was wonderful to see families and friends engaging in various activities and making lasting memories.Overall, my experience as a day visitor to Glendo State Park was truly memorable. The park's stunning natural beauty, peaceful ambiance, and well-maintained facilities made it an idyllic setting for a picnic andphotography. Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat or an active outdoor adventure, Glendo State Park offers something for everyone. I highly recommend paying a visit to this hidden gem and immersing yourself in the tranquility of nature.

Beautiful red rocks and the views were quite breathtaking as compared to the surrounding environment. Would highly recommend visiting and doing a little hiking. The lake itself is gorgeous and would make great wakeboarding!

Great water, (when at proper level) with cliffs, coves, beaches and camping. Fantastic mountain bike trails. LONG drive to town for ice or provisions. Sadly have cut down 1200 trees in 2016-17 due to record water levels eroding tree roots posing danger of falling. Otherwise still a great place to come and recreate. Incredible sunsets. My group been coming ten years annually.

With preparation, this could be the perfect vacation destination! That being said, what a clear, gorgeous lake! The drive to our campsite, Sandy Beach, was scenic, including several deer. Two Moons campground has a playground, and they were in process of adding 3 YURT style cabins to rent. (I'll add pic)The beaches are beautiful, soft, white sand, large cottonwood trees for shade at the water, and basically bug free! The staff keeps everything clean and quiet, bathrooms (no water) were kept clean and stocked. I would have rated it a 5 star except for the lack of campground shade, showers or water available. The water faucets had broken tips, or no place to screw our hoses to, we had to up root our vehicles and find one to fill up. Gas/convenience store with minor groceries, snacks, large ice bags, firewood, but is a long drive, apx 15 miles, at the I-25 off ramp. The people at the Marina were really nice! They have a boating dock, smaller bags, a few snacks and camp items, a gas pump, rooms to rent and a cafe. Near the marina is the RV septic dump site, but it is also quite a drive. Come prepared, water tanks filled, food. Wheatland is aprox 30 miles, for groceries, etc. The nearest Walmart is either nearly 90 miles to Cheyenne, or 120 miles to Casper. Bring what you need to save a trip, and enjoy!

Sandy Beach is must visit place. It's perfect for the kiddos to build sand castles, or play in the water. There is a lot of shallow area so there is no worries about drop offs. The perfect place to go camping, but it's best to make a reservation for this area due to its popularity. In the fall, the water is low so there is a bit of a walk down to the Waters edge. All of glendo is beautiful, and there is a small fee to enter the park itself, but it's worth it.

Definitely a diverse area of outdoors activities and camping styles. From roughing it in a tent to your home on wheels, you can enjoy everything here. Tons of sites and places to unload a boat in the water or just do some fishing on the shore. If you like to be off-road, there are some awesome sites to get to that most tires don't tread and most sites have some lake access. The staff are always great and views are always awesome. Thank you Glendo, WY for your hospitality and we'll see you again soon
