Stopped and stayed for one night on our way through. The owner is great and was very helpful in accommodating us. The rooms are a little older, but it's exactly what we were looking for when we chose to stay here instead of a chain place in Douglas. I would definitely stay here again.

I've been at Lakeview Campground for the entire summer for the past 2 years. The owners are the most kind and helpful people you will ever find. What a great place to RV and enjoy the lake and the vast area to explore.Safety: Glendo is a small community that looks out for each other. Fortunately, they don't have much, if any, crime.Noteworthy details: Yes, the trains travel through town all day, every day... and the sound is minimal. Doesn't matter where in Glendo you are, you will hear the train, even on the east side of the lake, 5 miles away. At least the trains do not blow the whistle or horn when traveling through town.

Good, Bad and the Ugly.... Stayed here for two nights, starting on 2 Sept 22. Staff were excellent when it comes to customer service, however, the bad out weighed this. Upon arriving, we learned our site we reserved was changed. This wasn't too bad but the new site had zero shade and no table. The older sites appeared to have a table but not their new sites. This was fixed though. Also quite dusty. Cars and trailers driving by kicked up quite a mess at times. Also the bathrooms were clean but only a couple doors on the toilets. If busy you either have to wait or use a doorless toilet. They do offer some limited items for sale at the office, however, everytime we went there, the door was locked and you have to ring a doorbell for service. I personally didn't feel comfortable doing this, since it felt like I may be disturbing them. Instead we ran to a store. It may have also been nice to know how low the lake was when we made reservations. I would not have made the trip had I known the lake was so low and you can't even park close to it and once you walk down to it, once again no shade anywhere. I fished for a little bit but the sun chased us away. Also don't rely on a good night sleep. Our loud neighbors kept us awake while they partied until 2:00am and the next day they left their dog in their trailer and it barked all day long while they were at the lake. Very irritating. Last but not least, if your neighbors don't keep you awake, the train definitely will. Trains run all night long and sound/feel like they are running right through the site. We made the best of our stay but I definitely wish we had gone somewhere else...

My dad was staying here and got sick. The the proprietors Sheree and Justin and their daughters took care of his dog while he was hospitalized. I had to come get dad's dog and his RV. Justin helped me learn how to pack up dad's rig for moving. By the end of 24 hours here, I felt like family. They are amazing people, and they have put a lot of work into the place since taking it over (new gravel, bathrooms and showers updated).

Owners are super friendly and go out of their way to help you out. Great campground located near the interstate with full hookups.Nearby activities: Glendo is within walking distance. Great if you want to grab a bite and a few beers at the local bars without having to drive.

Amazing owners went out of there way to take care of us, great camp sites they have dry and hookup sites along with cabins 5 minutes to the lake I will stay here again and only here $2 dollars more for the same type of site in the park. Love this camp ground! Another year and the service is better than ever before the owner is amazing please stop stay a night or 2 and enjoy

We had a room booked for us for 3 nights by our family. When we arrived we learned that the room booked for us had no bathroom. We went to the office and expressed our concerns and she quickly made changes to the schedule and got us into a room with a bathroom and kitchenette. She said that she hadn't finished cleaning the room or making the bed but if we gave her a few moments it would be ready for us. So at 1030 at night she was making beds and vacuuming the room. Even provided a cot for our son to sleep on instead of the floor. Highly recommend this establishment.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lakeview Motel and Campground. The owners are super nice and the camping rates are very reasonable. The campground is pet friendly. I was not staying in the area, I was passing through on the interstate and tent camping along the way. The owners told me they recently acquired the property and are making many improvements. I could easily see that a lot of new work had been completed on the facility. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean but do need a little bit of work. If I'm ever in the area I will certainly stay here again.

My family and I had a great experience at the Lake View motel and campground. The. Camping spots had full hook ups, clean laundry rooms and bathrooms with warm showers. The cabins are also clean updated and had comfortable beds. The campground is close to the lake. The owners are friendly and very helpful. This campground has the best rates and great value. My family and I have found our new favorite place for camping .

I've been a longtime (6 months) camper at Lakeview campground and have nothing but positive reviews!!The owners are genuine and very proud of the campground, where they also reside full time. They give campers full privacy and space but are also available to help with most needs.The bathrooms are clean and open (4 toilets/showers), laundry room has 3 washers/dryers and a large table. If you need propane tanks filled, jeston will happily do it for the lowest price around.The beautiful green grass and firepit make camping of any type (tent, plug in, dry, cabin,etc..) comfortable and convenient. It is also just a few blocks walk from the gas station, 2 bars/package liquor, 2 restaurants, post office and library.The train has been mentioned before, I have become used to it by now. Realize that the tracks run through town and affect everything, the trains also have "no whistle zone" through town and pass by about 2-3 times hourly, so it isn't too bad.

We camped here in a tent three nights in early Aug 2017. Great location, attentive owners, nice and clean restrooms. Good shower water pressure. Took off a star for the train, which passes right by camp several times a night and is required to blow its whistle. Owners say a "Quiet Zone" is coming next month. Would stay here again, especially once there is a Quiet Zone!

We just introduced ourselves, and used their facilities, to dump our RV tanks. They are very nice folks, and it looks to be a very nice place to camp. You would have to discuss prices with them.

Nice to have laundry room to get your clothes clean. Owner is a great man. Trains traveling past makes it hard to sit outside.

Stayed at the Lakeview Motel July 5 & 6, 2017. We had not been to Glendo for 9 years and used to stay at the Lakeview every time we came. We had heard the Lakeview is under new management and they have done a beautiful job upgrading the rooms. Their hard work shows with the upgraded bathrooms and they now have DirecTv in the rooms! That's a huge plus in the heat of the day. But, the real big deal is how sweet the new owners are. My wife and I had planned on staying 3 days. We were out on the boat our second day and did not properly prepare for the heat. Didn't realize how much we'd aged I guess since we'd been here last as the heat never bothered us before. Even though it certainly wasn't the motel's fault we planned poorly and even though Pauline didn't have to, she refunded the one night we didn't stay although we had reserved that night. I didn't expect it and really appreciate Pauline's kindness. She asked us to come back when it's cooler which we certainly will. If you are going for the first time, I highly recommend staying at the Lakeview Motel. There is a nice gas stove, microwave and refrigerator/freezer in the room and the air conditioner worked great! The advice I will give you is come prepared with everything you'll need. There is only one convenience store in town. Bring your coffeepot, ice, food/snacks, eating utensils, etc., as there's just not much chance to shop once you're in Glendo. There are many trains that run through Glendo day and night but I promise you, when you leave there, in a funny way, you'll miss them! Thank you to the Corkill's for a pleasant stay and your kindness. We hope to see you again soon.
