Ninilchik charters was excellent to go with. Our captains took care of all seven of us and did what it took to get us on the fish. Best of all is they were willing to stay until we all caught our limits. We each were able to get one large fish, in the 50lb range and then a smaller one. John the owner or manager was excellent to work with.

They are very helpful! Reasonably priced for charters and lodging. It was my first time in Alaska, and I've always wanted to go salmon fishing. This charter made it possible by creating a package for me that was within my budget!I highly recommend going through this charter!

We had a successful day with everyone getting their halibut limit. Captain Colby was very friendly and helpful. The way they launch the boats from shore to the wake was very interesting. I was fortunate enough to have gone out fishing with these guys in 2019. I had a great time. Every fishing spot we hit we caught fish. The captain's secret spots are real! The young captain was good. Even though it was a halibut fishing trip, I was lucky to have caught a huge silver salmon as well. The only downside of the trip for me was I got my limit a little too early into the trip. I spent the remaining half of the trip sleeping in the cabin.

15 in my group, everyone was comfortable and had plenty of room, we all caught fish with 4 over 75 lbs and one over one hundred, we had all ages and everyone had a great time. Boat is fast for it size and clean. Crew was fun and hospitable.

Went out with Ninilchik charters yesterday! Even before the trip started they went above and beyond to get us on the water as we were looking to book a trip before they actually opened making us their first trip of the season! Amazing group of guys! Had an amazing time. Started out not so great as my wife’s phone fell out of her pocket and into the harbor while getting on the boat lol. The crew as very fast to react however unfortunately there was never a chance to get it. Very happy that a crew member made every effort to try though! Very knowledgeable about fishing! Unfortunately my wife became seasick and asked to go back. Captain Thomas was very understanding and agreed. However he was determined to get us some fish and when we got into calmer water and noticed my wife was feeling better asked if she would feel comfortable fishing in the calm water which she agreed to. We ended up having a great time! 10/10 would go fishing with these guys again.

The Sundy took my friends and I out, along with 13 other people for an 8 hour halibut trip. When we got to the fishing spot and started catching Halibut, the deck hand started keeping our fish without telling us. One person from our group caught their limit in 15 minutes and was no longer allowed to fish.Then, when I told the deck hands I wanted to keep fishing and not keep small fish, they told us it was about to storm although there were no storms in the forecast and we needed to hurry. So, our group of 17 people caught their "limits" in 3 hours.The best part is when we got back to the dock (at 1pm instead of 4:30pm). The coast guard and federal agents were waiting for us and searched the boat. When the authorities entered the boat the whole attitudes changed of the boat crew. When the Police measured the fish carcasses, checked log books, and licenses, they were not happy! We should have had 17 fish over 28 inches and 17 under 28 inches. We only had 5 fish over 28 inches when we should have had 17! So, the charter lied to us about our fish size and were keeping way too many undersized fish! We got jipped. We paid $400/person and got small fish and a half-day excursion. This charter will take you to a "Chicken Yard" to where you limit out fast. If you're looking for "Barn Doors", this is NOT the charter for you, if they're still in business after the Coast Guard and Federal Police got done with them. They will also tell you to NOT leave a bad review, but this place is A RIPOFF!

We got bumped off our charter with ofishcial charters. Got booked on the Sundy the night before the trip. Gear was good. Deckhands were on it and the captain knew his stuff. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Do not book with Ninilchik Charters out of Seward.My nephew booked a multi species charter on 6-8-2023 with Ninilchik Charters out of Seward.First of all the boat was only about 25’ and the Captain was very young and had been in Alaska about 1 month. Second after riding for about 1 1/2 hours one of the motors quit working. They had had the oil changed a few days prior and the plug was not put back therefore causing motor to stop. They didn’t even make it out far enough to fish for Halibut. My nephew caught 2 - 6” fish. The other 3 people on boat did not catch but 1 or 2. Four foot swells added to the calamity especially when you are stalled in the water. Please refund my nephews money asap as Ninilchik Charters did not fulfill their contract as advertised. Thank youThank you for acknowledging the disappointing fishing day. Appreciate it.

Captain Dave and his deck hand Conner were excellent guides. We had so many fish, that we had to throw some back. I was grateful that Ninilchik charters was able to get three of us on the trip with such short notice. We loaded up on halibut and rock fish. Aside from a cooler full of fish, we saw whales and sea otters and sea lions. Memories for a lifetime. Thank you!

We went fishing with Captain Dave on the Artic Endeavor and deck hand Selby. Dave was knowledgeable and patient with my 3 kids and made sure we all caught fish. Selby was funny and made the trip fun. She was also knowledgeable, interactive and patient. We will fish with them again and hope to see Selby on board and sing sea shanties :) thank you for the great trip.

Went out with Skylar today and had a great time! We all caught some awesome size halibut not just over size "chickens". He took us to an area that was just to catch big fish and we did just that. He even encouraged us to throw back some pretty decently sized fish to catch a bigger one. He was very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Definitely would go out fishing with him again!

Our group of 15 went out on the Sunday with Captain Brandon, Cali, and Chase. Right from the moment we boarded Sunday these folks where personable and made a point of engaging everyone. When we hit the fishing grounds it was on. Our group tore them up. The crew worked really hard and we caught lots of Halibut. We would all recommend this Captain and crew anytime. Thanks for such an epic day of fishing.

Really not happy with this charter company. 3 different levels of issues, from the top the owner is cheap, supervising the facilities is bad. Employees quiting for reasons not saying. Very disappointed in supervision around cleaning and freezing catch. 1 day catch is still in fridge the 2nd day and an employee says and quote "I'm processing them today that's why I'm here" but on the 3rd day the 2 previously day catches were still in fridge. Not getting all of fish that was caught by our group. Minor amount but still not cool. Completely unprofessional. I will say the guides are good young adults. They were given small amount of tools and are doing what they can. My opinion with all of this experience was night and day from when I did the same package with these guys 13 years ago. Not sure why and will never go through the charter service again.

We did 2 days of river fishing for Salmon and 2 days deep sea for Halibut during the week of June 13th. We caught our limit of Halibut each time with some real good size fish. We also brought home a load of Cod. We missed the initial Salmon run, so fishing was spotty but the guides for the entire week were outstanding. I would recommend this service for a great time.

I recently went Halibut fishing with Garrett and his crew. There were 12 of us on board and each of us caught our large and small catch of the day within four hours. There were at least 6 halibut caught that were over 50lbs, the rest between 20-40 lbs. The crew was very professional and quickly rebated our hooks. I've never gone halibut fishing before and I caught four of them; two which I had to return since they were over the size limit. The captain knew where the halibut were and understood the currents and patterns. I highly recommend fishing with the Ninilchik crew.

Excellent experience and the captain (Grayson) was very polite, knowledgeable and was a pleasure to fish with. Caught our limit pretty quickly but the bigger fish were BIG not just big enough. For my first time fishing in Alaska, I was very happy. Will be back and will use these guys again if we come this way.

Ninilchik Charters cancelled my trip the day before and explained with mechanical issue, while one day before the cancellation they reminded me of the departure of the trip. I doubt whether it is true mechanical issue, but that is fine. I fortunately found another fishing charter and had a good experience. However, until today which is 20 days after the cancellation I still haven't received the promised refunding from Ninilchik Charters. Why it only took one or two days for them to decide to cancel my trip, while it has taken so long to do the refunding that is much easier?**Update: they completed the refund after about 23 days. I will be giving a 4-star in this case.

Great time fishing! Got us on some larger halibut wife caught a 100lb halibut and I got about a 70lb. The other group on the boat caught a bunch of 70+lb fish. Captain John and deck hand Skylar were great! Also caught a bunch of nice rock fish! Definitely going to use them again!!

I can't say enough good things about my experience. I don't go out of my way to post reviews often, but I had to post this one. Captain Garrett and his deckhands Corey, Natalie, and Ciara were as nice and professional as can be. They were very personal and gave every person on the ship all the attention they needed. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience with a fishing charter, and I can't wait to get back down to Homer to do it again.

Our first trip to Alaska July 19-26th 2019 was memorable and AMAZING! Garret and his darling sisters were so personable and helpful. They were quick to help whenever it was necessary. We had my inlaws with us too. Garrett made sure to stay out of the rough waters, and he knew where to find the fish. We had great time and nobody got sick. My husband and I have already decided that the next time we go, we will use Ninilchik Charters! They can be recommended for a top notch experience. Garret also was quick to point out the sea life when he approached them. I thought that was an added bonus!!!!!! We are definitely ready to pack up and head to Alaska again next year.

Captain Garrett, Cierra and Zack provided our family of 5 an amazing day of Halibut fishing from Homer. Everyone on the boat limited out on halibut and had tons of fun. This team works efficiently and finds fish with incredible skill. They are also very professional, polite and dedicated a lot of attention to the novice anglers in our group. We will be seeing you again next year!!!
