This was my second time visiting Skagway, and the main thing I wanted to do was to return to the Visitor Center and to visit the Gold Rush Museum. The story of the Gold Rush, the creative flow of the panels and exhibits mesmerized me me all over again. This museum makes great use of its space! If you are interested in history, you must stop by here when you visit Skagway. I guarantee that you will find it to be one of the top places to visit in this darling little historic town.

We visited Skagway during the off season not realising that most of the shops and museums would be closed. Thankfully the staff in the visitor center were happy to open the museum for my partner and I, which we really appreciated. The museum itself was really informative and had enough interactivity to keep us engaged throughout. Would definitely recommend as a must visit to learn about the history of the region.

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is a cruise ship favorite. The streets of Skagway are lined with dozens of historic stores, saloons, and public buildings, many of which have been restored by the National Park Service. It was really interesting to explore.

What a view!La vista tan hermosa! The cruise, the icy mountains, the greens, the soaring eagles.People are strolling, skating, biking, hiking, bbqing, toasting and getting their boats or camps ready.

Great exhibits on Skagway and the Yukon Gold Rush. Something that was particularly interesting for me to see were the "cribs" where women "entertained" the miners. It's cool that the various buildings throughout Skagway are all a part of the historic site. Makes it feel like a living, outdoor museum.

This was a very good and informative location. it had very easy-to-read and follow information. The displays had a good level of interaction to them for children. Only took about 15 minutes to get through the display in a good amount of detail.

Encompasses the town of Skagway ak. Multiple historic sites within walking distance. Educates on Yukon gold rush and the towns history.

I have visited the one in Seattle and had always wanted to see this one. The theater is closed but the museum more than makes up for the fact. They were slowly getting some exhibits ready for the season but the rangers were engaging and shared the knowledge they had. The visitor is but one place for the NHS and I recommend visiting the other places in town.

Great little Museum rich in Gold Rush history. It is in the National Parks office wheel chair or scooter accessible Only steps away from the Cruise ship dock. Well worth the stop if your shopping in town or just walking the boardwalk. It also has public restrooms and a drinking fountain if your parched

I would have loved to explore Scagway a little more than my excursion allowed. The town was fresh and quaint.

It was raining when we disembarked from the cruise ship but that didn't stop us from visiting what Skagway had to offer to tourists like us and it didn't disappoint.

Love the history displays and information you can get here. The walking tours are also fantastic if you're looking for something to do in Skagway. Everyone should stop in here first if you're interested in the real town and not cruise-line owned jewelry stores.

Very friendly staff! The walking tour with Anne was very informative and she's extremely knowledgeable! She answered questions that everyone had with ease and expanded even to fill out more of the details also. Stop in if you are curious about the history here!

Great first stop in Skagway to get historic context for the area, run well by NPS

This was such a fun place to visit! There was a lot of information yo read, and stunning views for when reading seemed like too much work. Panning for gold was one of the hilights of my trip... it felt like being a kid and it was hard to leave. I hope we can stop by again!

I was in Skagway for the day via a cruise, and after my shore excursion, had plenty of time to drop by the Visitor Center and check out the NHP. I was in luck! When the ships are in port, the rangers conduct walking tours of the town hourly, and I arrived a few minutes before one was starting. It was a nice stroll around the town, and I learned lots of interesting things about the stampeders. I dearly love the National Park Service and this was a great site to visit, I recommend it!

Friendly informative staff. Interesting things to read throughout. Ladies bathroom had a lengthy line, smelled of urine and were tight corridors. There are four stalls though and in an emergency it served its purpose.

Wonderful hike and nice train ride. The stew in the lunch box has been replace by a chicken sandwich since Princess took over. Definitely not worth the 20 USD.

Loved the history! Both the place and all the info told by the historians was a spine tingling adventure I added to my book of life. A chapter full of adventure.

Skagway was one of the cutest 1800s towns I seen and I've seen many! Taking the klondike train ride should be on everyone's bucket list!

Tour was informational. Seeing pictures of the hardships and how many people perished for the dream of striking it rich...made the Gold Rush more real, rather than a story in our history books

The area of Skagway has several National Parks locations that are part of the one park. Be sure to explore beyond the first building to get the full experience. I suggest doing the junior ranger programs to learn the most about the park.

Tohy don't often get ro witness first hand the beauty that a trip to Alaska will offer. You see so much more on foot. For example. It's a bit of a hike to the Mendenhall glacier, but it's a bargain at TWICE the distance.
