In 2018 I hired this company to replace my roof due leaking that occurred in my dining room. Their spokesman/representative (Clayton) was very friendly and courteous and guaranteed their work which came with a 20 year contract on materials and 5 year contract for labor. On Tuesday, 07/12/22 the roof failed as we received much needed rain. As the rain poured down from the sky, it soon began to pour through a light fixture in my dining room. I immediately reached out to Clayton who was no longer employed with the company but gave me the information to reach them about the problem. I made contact with Jon who advised that he was going out of town but would turn around to check out the problem.Upon his arrival, Jon began to inspect the inside of my home to see where the water (which was still pouring through our ceiling) was coming from. I told him that I had noticed the roof pulling up in two places the day prior. Jon checked several sources (a/c unit, plumbing, etc.) to see if something other than the rain was causing the leak. After seeing that nothing else caused the issue, he advised that he would have his employees/roofers to come out to check the problem on the next day.I called at 10:45 on Wednesday (07/13/22) and the call went to his voicemail so I left a message. I attempted to reach him again at 12:42 after no hearing from him and it went to his voicemail again. Shortly after Jon returned my call and advised that his roofers were on a job in Cabot and would be at my home later that day.After his crew failed to show up, I called Jon again. He said he didn’t know why they didn’t show. He then began to communicate as if he was trying to avoid responsibility for the repairs saying, “I think we can agree that the storm caused the damage.” I immediately rejected that idea and reminded him of the places where the roof was pulled up. He then suggested that since the roof had lasted four years it was not his responsibility. Now angered by the fact that it seems like he was trying to put the responsibility of the repairs on me or my insurance, I reminded him of his company’s warranty. I demanded that he send his people to come to check my roof to figure out the cause of the problem.On 07/14/22, his crew arrived at my house at 0745 hrs to find the problem. His lead roofer discovered that the caulk/sealant around the chimney had dried out and was not functioning properly. They reapplied new sealer and left. Upon reaching out to Jon to see when he would be addressing the interior water damage to the Sheetrock, insulation, and possibly the light fixture, he suggested that I contact my insurance company for the repairs. Now, we will have to go through legal channels to get him to honor his contract. Thank youIn response to Capitol Roofing Solutions:Let me be clear, I did curse at Jon after calling him on 07/15/22 @ 0803, after inquiring about whether his company was going to start the process for repairing my ceiling. Jon automatically began to insist that my insurance company cover the repairs. I refused the idea and began explaining how their sealant failed causing the leak. I said, “if you’re not going to repair my ceiling just write me a letter showing that you won’t honor your warranty and then I’ll get it fixed and we can go to court.” Jon refused and began to over-talk me and he cursed at which time I responded in the same fashion. He then began to say that he was trying to explain that 4 years ago my insurance company refused to replace illegal flashing around my chimney but that he still chose to replace the entire roof with a bad flashing. This was the very first time that I heard of this because just like I told them to replace bad wood I would have told them to replace the flashing. I have never known of a roofing company that would have a $20,000 dollar roof replaced without replacing an already failed $200 flashing nor would we approve such a thing. My problem with Jon is during this entire process he has sought after way to throw the blame on someone/somewhere else which he did at every point.Service: Roof installation

We used this company after having severe storms that caused hail damage to our roof. Our roof was replaced quick- even with the amount of people needing one replaced- and it looks great. We did have a few issues, but the owner was patient and worked to help get them resolved. Overall, my wife and I are happy with the outcome and the finished roof.
