I rarely write reviews but felt compelled after reading the review of a disgruntled employee. I have known and worked with this company for over 20 years on a variety of large and small projects. The work is SUPERIOR! Working on a historic home requires expert knowledge and they deliver. Enough could not be said about the attention to detail and the level of true craftsmanship. The passion they have for the work they do is incredible to watch. I will continue to refer my friends and family for the quality work and the integrity they bring with it.

I waited five months for an initial consultation, and confirmed the appointment multiple times leading up to it. However, the appointment was a no-show.After following up, their office said that they missed the appointment because they were "busy" and "in and out of the office." I chose not to move forward in working with them because this seemed like a red flag of lack of communication / not being respectful of client's time.I don't doubt that they are good at their work once on the job, but to me it felt like they either don't have the means to communicate well or they believe their time is more valuable than that of potential clients, which is not a good first impression to have.

As subcontractors we have been working with Grueter Construction for close to 5 years now and he is an extremely knowledgeable and a perfectionist. I read the previous post and find those comments to be untrue and I assure you all to not trust that post. As far as working on 30 years old homes, if it is the client's idea to keep things as close to that time period, that is what Joe will do. But he will do it more efficiently.
