We really enjoyed our 1 night stay here at the Aurora Hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a small room especially the bathroom, but we didn’t mind. Also had a mini fridge and microwave which was nice. Parker at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast spread and a filtered water station. Easily walkable to everything in Avalon. Would definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately, I was delayed arriving because of the flight getting delayed 2 days at the last minute. I was unable to find any other flights. I called a son as I found out. But because it was only 12 hours before check-in, they were going to keep the entirety of the cost of the 2 night stay. I wish I could stay here when I do arrive, but I wouldn't feel right about it. I don't feel ok recommending this hotel either.

This is a very nice hotel and the front desk representatives are very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a standard room for our 3 night trip to the island. I must say that the standard room is quite small but has a lot of space to store your luggage. The bathroom is extremely small even for a mid size person like me. There is hardly any leg space between you and the door when you sit on the toilet. The shower is so small that for me to go elbow to elbow and not touch the shower walls I have to be standing diagonally. Finally the bathroom sink is a kiddy sink more like the sinks you find in the interior rooms of cruise ships. So if you are booking a standard room, please be aware of the space.

We had a great stay at the Aurora. The front desk host, Parker, was excellent and exhibited true hospitality. The rooftop deck is an amazing place to hang out and enjoy the view! The room was clean and comfy, a bit on the small side, but well-appointed. A family friendly hotel but please, if you bring small kids, do not sprawl out in the middle of the rooftop deck, blocking the walkway, and try not to let them run up and down the halls at 6am. Guests need to respect each other. Thank you.Walkability: Very close to everything in Avalon.

Wife and I were there for our 20th anniversary. Had the balcony room 313. Pretty darn small, but pretty nice and the balcony had chairs and a table that were nice to sit and eat breakfast.Really liked the patio and no one was ever there. Bit of a hike up the hill, but only 5 to 10 min walk from the bottom at Naughty Fox.Breakfast as decent, better than a lot of places. No elevator

Extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay. Parker at the front desk was welcoming and wonderfully helpful. Checking in was a breeze and any questions you could possibly have are all answered clearly and simply by Parker, he’s top notch. Rooms are immaculately cleaned, with comfy beds and pillows. Excellent breakfast facilities and delicious food. Located walking distance from anything you could need. Many thanks to the team at Aurora! The perfect place to stay on Catalina!Rooms: Rooms are small but to be expected on Catalina. Rooms make use of the space well, TV is large and has spare HDMI cable for plugging in a chromecast or firestick - fast internet, VERY clean bathrooms, the place felt extremely hygienic, the room also features a personalised ‘enjoy your stay’ note from whomever prepared your room, a very nice touch.Safety: Extremely safe, locked doors with easy access for guests via side entrance. Guests who stay here are also friendly and respectable. Had no issues about safety ever while here.Walkability: Walkable to all parts of Avalon, walkable to the ferry, golf cart hire, mini golf, Casino, with all food options on the boardwalk.Food & drinks: Complimentary breakfast is well stocked. Good selection of cereals as well as hot breakfast (eggs, both scrambled and boiled, turkey bacon, bagels, English muffins etc) - orange juice, tea and coffee, and free complimentary mimosa’s on Saturday mornings!

We absolutely loved this hotel. Parker was above and beyond. We got off our very early boat and walked over to the hotel at 7:30 am with the hopes to just drop off our luggage while we cruised around the island until check in. Parker immediately told us if we gave him five minutes, he could have a room ready. I couldn't believe it! He also offered us the continental breakfast while we waited! They had coffee, tea and fresh lemon cucumber in the lobby 24/7. We had a room on the third floor. The room is cozy and perfect. Robes are hanging with a sign that say we can contact the front desk if we'd like to take them home, chocolates are on the bed, wine is offered in the room, complimentary water bottles are already in the fridge, we get the movie channels, and every amenity you could think of is in the bathroom. On the third floor there is an outdoor deck with tons of seating options and a gorgeous view of the water. We spent a lot of time lounging out there. You are also able to take a tray with your breakfast out to this area. We felt so spoiled. The location is up a small hill, so you could either request a taxi or get your steps in. It is a great location to the main streets. On our last day, we checked out right at 11. Parker offered to hang on to all of our luggage. He also offered us to take hotel beach towels so we didn't have to travel with dirty ones. AND he offered to put ice in our cooler we had brought with us to prepare for the hot day. We plan to make all of our future bookings at the Aurora. Thank you for the incredible hospitality and the perfect stay for our trip!

We loved our stay at the Aurora Hotel. First of all, Melissa at the front desk is awesome. She’s super friendly and so nice. The rooms themselves were nice and clean. They are small and compact, just as pictured online. The view was fantastic too as is the roof top deck. The location up the hill we also liked — a short hike but a little removed from all the other places.

Amazing experience. Great location near the center of Avalon. We stayed in a standard room which was small (as most dwellings are on the island) but very nice. We actually only slept in the room because the hotel had really nice amenities which included an amazing rooftop cabana style place to hang out (free, along with everything else I mention). Also enjoyed the daily breakfast which was much better than you typically experience. We had the pleasure of staying on a Friday night which includes a free wine and cheese event in the lobby, fantastic cheese and wine.Best part of all was the staff, outrageously friendly and helpful. Could not imagine being much happier with the stay.

Fantastic hotel with friendly staff! Spotlessly clean! Wonderful breakfast. Get the ocean view room! We had a little balcony overlooking the harbor. They also have a cool roof deck if you can’t get the ocean view room. They sell wine, reasonably priced and have a great coffee maker in the lobby. The location was good—up the hill enough for a great view and some peace and quiet, but close enough for easy access. Bed was comfortable! The rooms are small but perfectly proportioned!

The Aurora Hotel was an absolutely blast! And the view from our room was spectacular!! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the grounds and rooms were clean, albeit it a tad on the small side. There are only 2 floors, but we had a great view of the harbor. Rooms have coffee maker, microwave, safe, hair dryer and and nice and freshly decorated. Up on the roof is is small sunning area with great views of Avalon. A very nice establishment with a professional staff. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Aurora Hotel.

Staff was excellent. The room, not so much. It was our first time on the island and didn’t know where to stay so we picked one of the reasonable hotels. It was clean, small breakfast each day, cookies each afternoon with the cucumber water was good. But it’s like a micro hotel. Privacy with the bathroom doesn’t really exist as it’s small. My camper has a bigger sink and shower. No fan in the bath so it’s like a sauna when you get out. It has a sliding door because there is no room to put a swinging door. The room was big enough for a king size bed, but there is only a queen which you felt like you were sliding off when trying to sleep. The bottom sheet didn’t even fit the bed and when you turned over, the sheet was bunched up under you. They don’t tell you that they are basically at the top of a hill. If you’re not in shape, you may be by the end of your stay. The rooftop porch gave a great view of the harbor and downtown. You can hear the bands perfectly that play on the downtown street. Again, the staff was awesome, from management to everyone else that worked there. For the price we paid, I now know there are other places to choose from for the future that may cost a few more dollars, but the location and rooms will offset the cost.

Yes, the rooms are small, but they are very clean and the price is right. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast was: eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon, bagels, muffins, cereal, and fruit. Coffee, milk, and orange juice, are also available. It's a short walk to anywhere in town. The view from the rooftop deck is outstanding. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel was very nice, clean, and modern. The staff members (Fabian and Katia) were very welcoming, friendly, and nice, they make sure you have a memorable experience. Their service is above and beyond. If you book the room with ocean view you won’t regret it. The hotel has a rooftop patio and the view is beyond beautiful. The breakfast is really good as well. They provide coffee, water, and snacks all day at the lobby. They also provide beach towels. The hotel has everything you need to have an amazing time. Totally recommended.

Absolutely amazing! They serve breakfast, from what I can remember it was sausage McMuffin’s almost similar to McDonald’s lol, along with Coffee ( we have to say they have the best coffee from the entire island) and with fruits and cereal . We had an amazing time here. My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon here and it was a beautiful time, the view was so beautiful! We hope to come again and spend some time with family or friends this time!

The Rooms are small but perfectly designed to give you as much available space as possible. There is a microwave, refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. Tables are “floating” so there is space to store shoes and bags underneath. There is plenty of tabletop space and drawers as well. There’s a small area for hanging clothes and hooks for other things. The rooftop patio has fabulous views and is a great place to relax or eat your takeout food. The front desk staff are all very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They answered many questions about hikes, the island and other things to do. A special shout-out to Melissa! There is a machine in the lobby that dispenses filtered water and ice. The continental breakfast served included eggs, sausages, bagels, English muffins, cereals, fruits! There is a steep but short walk up from front street. Everything in Avalon is walkable from the hotel. It’s a great boutique hotel!

Don’t bother looking any further or staying anywhere else. From the staff to the views - this place was absolutely perfect. Room was small but it was all my husband and I needed. The AC was great to have because as far as what I’ve read not all hotels offer AC on the island. We stayed in room 310, was well over $400 a night as it was summer and a weekend - but worth every penny. They offered to keep our bags in the lobby if our room wasn’t ready but it was actually ready early. Definitely recommend the company they use who pick up your bags and take them to the boat when you check out. $7 a bag and worth it. Thanks Aurora Hotel for a great experience. Will be back. If we can get in! You’re always booked out. ;)

The views from upper deck are pretty good and staff is friendly and helpful. But the room is not very clean. If the price is good relative to other local hotels I would recommend staying here, but look into Air BnB a condo, or staying at Hotel Metropole or Atwater Hotel. Something more central. The walk up Marilla Ave is quite steep. Not suitable for physically handicap or disabled people.

The hotel has great views from upper deck , provides complimentary breakfast and staff was friendly, but rooms are not clean and does not justify the price. Shower room is very small compared to my couple night stay at At Water. The place is not super ventilated and hence a strange odor is across room and hallway. Bathroom floors are sticky and unclean. I would recommend to remodel the rooms to attract couples. Bed was probably old/broken spotting strange cracking noise. The friends who accompanied us also had the exact same reviews and they were also disappointed. Will not recommend this place to my friends.

The rooms are very small. The shower was so small that it was hard to turn around. No one came to tidy up your room everyday. My trash can got full. I had to find some where to empty it myself. I had to call the front desk to get soap and towels. I tried to call the front desk about 8:30 PM to get a wake up call. No one answered my call. There is no one on duty after 8:00 PM. There are no elevators. I had to carry my luggage up the stairs to the room and then walk back downstairs to get my wife's luggage and carry it upstairs to the room. I would rate this hotel a one and a half star because the room was clean.

I had a great time for a birthday get away, the place is small but perfect, I don't have major complaints except very minor ones, like: I couldn't figure out the hot water for the sink, the brown blanket on the bed smells bad and for the love of God the pillows on the bed was like climbing a mountain, is it possible to get low profile pillows for short people? I'm 5'2" and I named your high profile pillows mount pillow! Other than conquering and claiming mount pillow I was pleased with everything else, breakfast was great and the balcony is amazing!

Nice modern hotel and staff is very accommodating. Breakfast I would describe as an extensive continental, meaning it included more options than typical continental- it was well received. Keurig coffee/tea available at all times in room and lobby. Room was a junior suite and was a nice decent room- ocean view was partial, bed was great. Rooftop is nice. Hotel was very quiet. Massage service was nice as well. Cons: NO elevator, hotel is on a steep hill so you must be aware of your capabilities, it is away from the main strip, and room does not come with an iron (only a steamer). Also, they charged us $20 for a bottle of wine we never opened but housekeeping reported that we did, but when I called to question the bill they quickly removed it. Overall good stay- we went during an expensive weekend (film festival) so I felt it was a bit overpriced, but it was a nice stay.

A fantastic experience. The staff was accommodating and the rooms were clean and very nice. If you have kids I would call ahead as the rooms as made for 2 people and a small child but more than that probably won't do. But again, great place.

A wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They allowed for an early check-in & if check-out time is before island departure time, they allow for baggage to be tagged & stored Onsite (a huge help) so you can get one last soak in the sand & sun.The roof top deck has comfortable seating areas with amazing views. A perfect place to eat your complimentary continental breakfast. I highly recommend the Aurora Hotel.
