I originally needed to get my roof redone as part of a solar installation project, and the solar company referred me to Cosmic Roofing as their preferred partner. Due to the unusual roof slope on my house, several other companies had turned me down for this project.Cosmic sent me David A. to go over the initial conversation of the project. We talked about work streams, dates, expectations, areas of concern, and of course the price. He showed me sample tiles, colors, materials, and explained some items that I hadn't taken into account, such as adding new vents to pass the permit process. I felt like David really understood what needed to be done and how he would tackle it. That was why I felt comfortable signing a work order right away.The tiles were delivered within days, which I was pleasantly surprised at. The roof installers came the next day, and did their job efficiently. Permits were reviewed the same week, and I officially had a new roof in less than a month's time. It's commendable how efficient this company is. My house is now noticeably cooler on sunny days because David recommended the white roof tiles. Of course, the fast speed made it easy for the solar company to do their installation too.We're very happy to have worked with Cosmic Renovation and Roofing. It wasn't until I spoke with David that I found out they also do solar installations. I might've had them make a bid for the solar work as well, but since I had already decided on someone else, it wasn't in the cards. Anyways, if you're looking to add solar to your roof, give Cosmic a call for a quote.

After the December "atmospheric river" we discovered not one but three leaks inside the house from our built-in gutters. We could find only two companies willing to do a repair in a reasonable timeframe. Ben from Cosmic Renovation and Roofing was prompt and helpful in setting up a schedule. After a couple of minor schedule slips, the job was completed in two days. Cosmic's roofers were friendly and polite, and cleanup of waste materials was good except for sawdust all over the yard. Of course, it hasn't rained since. I'll update this review as necessary after the next downpour!Services: Gutter repairs, Roof repair

Following a recent storm, we discovered a leak in our roof. We contacted Cosmic Renovations to come out and make the necessary repairs. Ben Itzhak arrived on time and proceeded to assess the roof and provide an estimate for repairs. He was very thorough, taking numerous photographs of the roof. Going over the photos, Ben explained what he saw and answered all our questions. After discussing our options, we determined a complete roof replacement was best. Their pricing was comparable to other companies in our area. The work was completed on schedule and Ben oversaw the project from start to finish. The workers were courteous and punctual. We recommend Cosmic Renovations & Roofing highly and would use them again!Service: Roof installation

Do you like dishonesty, intimidation tactics, and incompetence? Then these guys are for you! We purchased a home with a new roof that had been installed by Cosmic one month prior to sale. One year later we have to completely replace the roof due to leaking tar dripping down from the roof. When I reached out to Cosmic as we have a warranty, they stated this was not their fault b/c the leaking underlayment was coming from residue from a prior roof. They offered to send someone out to take a look and the man they used intimidation tactics sent defensively stated this is not my fault and began yelling at me and bullying me. Later, they offered to remove the old roof at cost. We wrote back (3 times) to accept their offer to remove the roof and they failed to respond. What we have experienced is lack of accountability, extreme disrespect, and lack of follow through and honesty. UPDATE: The roofing company we hired to replace the work were shocked the roof did not leak (i think we have a drought to thank for that). Comic skimped on the materials and did not have sufficient overlap between the shingles.Service: Roof installation

Project- Balcony/Patio tear out and reinstall, including waterproofing, drainage, and repair of a leak.My house is about 80 years old; I discovered that there was a leak from a (nearly) roof-top patio down into the dining room wall below. Ben came over, assessed the situation, and was very up front about the price being determined by what they find after they pulled up the patio flooring. Unfortunately, it was kind of a mess under there. Ben explained the process and pricing very clearly and set up the different crews for each layer of the the tear out and reinstall. They were great about working with my schedule, Ben always called me back if there was an issue. The job, which was a multi-step project, was finished pretty quickly. Everyone was very polite, cleaned up and carted away any debris after every layer and they were even very nice to my dog, (who can be a little annoying ) it looks good now and I am confident that the waterproofing is solid. Will definitely rehire them for for future projects!

We worked with many project managers, but Blake from Cosmic Renovation and Roofing is certainly the best! It’s such a pleasure to talk about your dream house with someone that really enjoys what he’s doing. We contacted him because we wanted a more eco-friendly lifestyle, and we thought that solars panels were the best option. Blake did a wonderful job, he was meticulous and inventive, and he made sure that everything else is in peak condition. We definitely recommend them!

We had an excellent experience with Cosmic Roofing when they replaced the roofing on our home in El Cerrito. The job was done within the estimated time-frame and for the agreed upon cost. The company's rep, Alon, was particularly helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and honest (along with being a really nice guy). He made sure we were satifsied with the choices we made re: roofing material and with the scope and execution of the job. It was a real bonus that the company took care of getting all the city permits for us, which otherwise can be a real pain (especially in El Cerrito) if you have to do it yourself. All requirements made by the city inspector were dealt with efficiently. We also appreciated that they took extra steps to avoid any damage or oil-staining of our brand new resurfaced driveway (paver stones) which had been completed just one week before the roofing project. (Thank you for taking extra care!) The only area that could use a little improvement would be for better communication from the on-site project manager and possibly more attention paid to the after-job cleanup. Otherwise it was a surprisingly good experience for a project like this and I would highly recommend Cosmic Roofing to anyone else looking for a high quality roof replacement.

We hired Cosmic to redo our roof in preparation for solar panels. Of the 5 roofing bids we received, Cosmic's price was in the middle and they were available to do it within a week or two. Our point of contact, David, was easy to work with and made himself readily available to address any issues.Cosmic's crew stripped our old roof and put up new shingles in 2.5 days. For the most part, they cleaned up at the end of each day and were careful to not break things in our yard. There was the occasional debris/nail leftover (one of which I stepped on) and they accidentally crushed a couple plants during demo of the old roof. My advice is that you comb the area with them before they leave for the day. There was the occasional debris left in trees or the neighbor's yard that they quickly picked up once I pointed it out to them.There was also a miscommunication and the crew removed our attic fans. David quickly addressed this and had a new fan installed. However, this new fan was improperly wired and we had to get an electrician to look at it. Surprisingly, Cosmic contacted us regarding feedback on our project and I mentioned the fan issue. They immediately looked into the issue and sent out an electrician to fix our fan and now I can say that the job is 100% complete.Overall, we're happy with the work they did and may use them again in the future. The fan fiasco is unfortunate but I don't think was intentional and they corrected the issue without pushback.

The manager, David, made sure that I was happy with the installation of our asphalt roof which also included adding a sky light and solar panels. There had been some minor issues as all projects have, but David was on top of them and made sure they got fixed. The different crews were very efficient and clean.

When Ben the Project Manager suggested replacing my existing concrete driveway with pre-formed pavers I was very pessimistic. Where as I approved of the color he selected and liked their general appearance, I still had serious misgivings about pavers being used on my steep, curvey, and generally difficult driveway located in the Montclair District of Oakland. Ben insisted that they would work so I reluctantly agreed to use them. To make a long story short the project went beautifly and I could not be happier. Many of my neighbors have stopped and commented on how nice it looks.

Blake came to my house on 3/28/22.Nice guy, talked about options for the roof.Never heard from him again, no quote received.I gave him a discount coupon from their ad for 25% off. He took it with him, is this the reason for no response? Not a good look for Cosmic.

They came and gave me a price of $6000 to fix a small roof it was leaking. They fixed it but it was the wrong roof. They took another two months to come back to fix it. I called two other companies and they said it was a $2500 job not $6000 they said I got completely ripped off. I felt the sale guy just saw me and thought I can make some mine off this senior older woman. Please do not do business they are out for money only and not a good job. The crew show up on time and work fast. They work 6 days a week and they try their best to complete their work on time. I had more work done (tearing down a wall) and they still completed on schedule. If I had questions, I communicated with the manager, Polina. She is a pleasure to work with and she knows her stuff! I appreciate her feedback and love her design taste. Also, their quote was great and they didn't have any extra/unexpected charges, such as some of the other companies. Very reliable and I look forward to working with them in the future.

I contacted Cosmic renovations & roofing after seeing their add on, Home Improvement Guide to Concrete our back yard. . Miki Braun turned up timely (only!) for the first appointment. Miki's quote was way ahead of the others I had received. However I was impressed by his professionalism and confidence, even though, in my mind I was not going with that price for the job. A few days later Miki made a follow up call and by next Monday , we had signed a contract to get the job done. What stood out here with Miki , was that even though he knew, his quote was higher, he did not give up on the client, he still followed up and made sure he twitched the numbers to get the job. At the end of the day I still paid a higher price, which I do not regret, as their workmanship, was worth that extra buck !

This company was great to work with, from the office staff and estimator to the people that actually do the project. Although they do large jobs, they were happy to help us with a job in between small (handyman size) and large. We had a leaky window that no one could seem to fix. They never gave up and looked for the cause of that leak and fixed it. They are reasonably priced and I would definitely do business with them again.
