After two years in my home in Dana Point, I was finally ready to remodel my kitchen. I knew what worked and didn’t work for me and my family. We hired the company to remodel our 1971 Kitchen to bring the water and electrical systems in it up to code. We’re very happy with the outcome. David Eskin was our project manager. He kept us informed and updated since we were still living far from our new home. Overall, the project was done on budget and in time. We worked with Mark and his amazing team to complete the addition on our home. His team was able to help us through planning stage and come up with a layout that made sense, they dealt with the city to get the project approved, and completed the addition timely. We visited their showroom and found the perfect flooring to complete the look we wanted in our home. The only delays we had was due to the city slowly approving the plans. After shopping several companies, we chose Horizon Construction and Remodeling for our home improvement project, which was to enlarge and update our kitchen and main bathroom. In addition, we converted all of our flooring to vinyl.We are extremely happy with the service, responsiveness, dependability, and the results Horizon provided. David Eskin was our project manager. David became a consultant and friend during the process. He proved to be patient and honest when we encountered an issue with the granite installation for our kitchen. We upgraded our material to a beautiful and unique Brazilian granite for our kitchen counter. Our initial granite slab cracked 3 feet across the width of the counter 2 days after installation. David and his crew reviewed the issue and, without hesitation or argument, removed the cracked granite and replaced it with a new slab at their cost. Although this experience was extremely stressful for all, the integrity displayed by David and Horizon was stellar and unique in the construction industry. Contractors are easy to find, but an honest and dependable one is rare in our opinion. On this experience alone, we would recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling without reservation. They made it right.All construction is stressful and we lived in our house during the remodel. This project was our first in this home, but our fourth major reconstruction in our 45 years of marriage. Horizon was by far the best remodel experience!

So happy to have gone with Horizon Construction for our major kitchen, and 2 bath, remodel project.! From the first meeting with Mark, the owner, I felt that he was trustworthy, knowledgeable and fair. He, and the Horizon Construction crews, did not disappoint. Communication with Mark, Enna, and the office staff were admirable. Mark’s design expertise was very helpful. He met all of our wants & needs. Our kitchen was taken from a poorly designed eyesore to a beautiful space. We had major structural work, removal of load bearing beams and steel moment frame, installing three steel beams at the ceiling to create an open floor plan. We completely changed the footprint of the kitchen. Custom cabinets turned out beautifully! The materials purchased through Horizon Design were of high quality and sourced in a timely manner. Workers were friendly, arrived on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. We were so pleased with the kitchen that we added on two bath remodels which were completed along with the kitchen. Thank you Horizon for delivering a quality space which we are happy to invite our friends & family to. We will enjoy the beautiful kitchen & bathrooms for many years to come!

We were referred to Horizon Construction and Remodeling from my sister's coworker at Houzz for a full kitchen remodel. Our consultation went wonderfully and we felt very comfortable with David. He did a great job explaining their company and the process for our kitchen remodel. He was able to take all of our ideas for the kitchen and make them a reality. He was honest and helpful throughout the whole process and we did not have to stress about all the things you hear other people having to go through during a remodel. He was quick to respond to any emails, calls or texts. The only thing I wish we would have received without asking for was a weekly schedule on what was happening each day and who we would be expecting at the house and what time so we could plan ahead as full time working parents. Overall we were very happy with every contractor who worked on the kitchen! We do not have one complaint about any of the people that came into our house throughout the remodel. We would highly recommend Horizon to our families and friends for any future remodeling and would us them again in the future. We recently just finished a remodel of two bathrooms using Horizon for the project. They were easy to work with and worked hard to accommodate a house with four people working from home. Working with their design team, installers, and trades people, the entire project came together without issue. They even helped us by doing some things out of order to ease the burden of a family of four using just one working bathroom. But the real payoff was in the end product. David Eskin, one of the Company's owners served as our Project Manager. Itwas beneficial to have someone with a vested interest in the Company bedirectly involved in our project. The fact that the company is family ownedwas one of the reasons we selected Horizon. David was always attentive toour inquiries and questions.Workmanship:The quality of the work product and the level of craftsmanship wasexcellent. The project's main features were added electrical, custom-builtcabinetry, and tile faced walls and counters. All features were done tooutstanding quality.Professionalism:All the people involved with Horizon and the contractors were respectful andgreat to deal with. They were always open to suggestions as well as makingrecommendations. Each phase of the project was done with respect to our homeand maintaining cleanliness.Lessons Learned:Tiles - The tile used from the project was selected from the sample in theshowroom. The sample tile did not have any "Blemishes" that ultimatelyshowed up in installed tiles as part of the tile's design. In the end it isnot all that noticeable, but we would have liked the option to possiblyselect another design. Lesson Learned; always look at the full case oftiles.Schedule:the time of signing the contract in the early part of Novemberwe would not have expected that the project would not be completed untilmid-January. Some of the schedule extension was because we made some changesto the original scope. Other aspects were the difficulty in sequencing eachproject phase due to lack of availability of contractors on a timely basis.Also attempting completion during the holidays had its challenges. LessonLearned; avoid the holidays to try and complete a project within expectedtimeframe.

This my experience with Horizon Construction and Remodeling,and why I recommend them.This is the second time that I have hired a contractor. The first time was a bathroom remodel, and it was a disaster, so I was very apprehensive about hiring another contractor. We needed to remodel our kitchen, so I had no choice. I did my due diligence and research and called three companies to interview. All three I had no prior knowledge of or experience with. Out of the three bids, there was a high, a medium, and a low.After talking to them one more time I went with the medium bid company. That company is called Horizon Construction and Remodeling. It turns out I made the right choice. My experience with this company is the complete opposite from my first experience with a contractor.My Project Manager was Mark, who did an outstanding job of keeping the project moving quickly efficiently. His crews showed up on time, were professional and did quality work, from plumbing to electrical to framing to painting to cabinets all were done to my satisfaction. If something was not done to my satisfaction (which was rare), I just let Mark know about it and he would send someone to either redo or touch-up the work. Mark would visit the job site frequently.I feel Mark is honest and has his customer’s best interest at heart. There were a couple of times when he could have charged me extra money for items that came up during the project, but he did not.Like any project we had to make some changes along the way, and Mark is very willing to work with you to make sure that you get what you want. Mark will listen to your ideas plus he has many ideas himself. He helped us a lot with our kitchen design.They started my project Oct. 11, 2001. My wife and I were hoping to have the project done by Christmas. They had it done in 7 weeks in time for Thanksgiving!The inside staff is led be Enna. They make sure everything is ordered on time. They even arrange for inspections. We had our kitchen entirely re-done by Horizon Construction & Remodeling. Horizon replaced our cabinets, sink, inserted a backsplash, rewired our receptacles to meet current code and repainted the walls. They also installed recessed lighting under the cabinets which really brings out the ambiance of the kitchen overall. It was a complex operation and they project-managed it flawlessly. They took a lot of time to truly understand what we wanted and then provided examples and expertise to help guide us to our final decisions. We were very happy with the work done by HorizonConstruction on our remodeling project. We love our 1954suburban home, but the two bathrooms were in serious needof updating. Horizon started work and we immediately knewwe were in good hands. The workmanship on the floor andshower tile was superb. In our master bath we had custom tilesinstalled in the shampoo shelf that made our shower reallyshine. The workers in charge of painting, vanity installationand plumbing were very friendly and professional. We feltvery comfortable having them in our house. They answeredquestions and communicated their progress to us. The overalljob was done in a timely manner and we were always informedof any delays.David the project manager kept us updated throughout theentire process and helped us to realize our vision of asouthwestern style guest bathroom. He took care of all thepaperwork with our city's permit process. We were givennotice of any delays and he responded to texts immediately.On one occasion, while we were shopping for vanities at a localwarehouse, he texted with us for over half an hour to makesure we got the right one. Halfway through the project wedecided to re-pipe our entire house and David made thathappen. His plumbing crew had the re-pipe done in two days.We feel confident recommending Horizon for your remodelingneeds. They respected our house and it showed in their work.We can't wait to show off our new bathrooms to friends andfamily!

We were given a fair price for our remodel and the quality of work was excellent. Everyone we worked with was polite, courteous and professional. Horizon completed a 450 square foot addition on our house that included moving an exterior wall and reworking the roof line to add a bathroom and expand three bedrooms. This project took place from July 2019 to November 2019. Our primary criteria for selecting a construction company was familiarity with working with our city, timeliness, and quality of work performed.We are very happy with the final product of this project. The finished work provided by Horizon Construction is beautiful and works well within our high end home. The craftsmen used for the detail work were top notch, and the projects that needed to match existing finishes in the house look nearly flawless in their integration. We did not have any problems with permitting the plans or with passing the inspections with the city so there were no hold ups time wise because of inspection issues.When any hiccups did occur, as they occur in any remodel or home project, Horizon was very quick to correct them to the best of their ability or propose solutions that would result in the same high end product we were looking for. The customer service provided was quite good.David is a great project manager and was very attentive. He made sure any and all concerns were addressed promptly and that questions were answered in a very timely manner. Horizon construction & Remodeling remodeled/updated both my master and the main bathrooms, which were in their original mid-60s construction state. David Eskin and his team of tradesmen helped bring my vision to fruition. As with any project, once the walls were opened up, some revisions were required; based upon their expertise and experience, Horizon was able to provide a few suggestions and a few “tweaks” to address these revisions. I couldn’t be happier with the results! Both bathrooms are much more functional and beautiful!Horizon also did some minor improvements in my laundry area – again improving the functionality and looks!Note: Remodeling costs did not cover much of the material costs. I had already selected and/or purchased some of the building materials; I did research and purchase much of the remaining materials (tub, vanities, tiles). Horizon does have its own showroom, and could have provided these at an additional cost. However, because I already had a firm idea as to what I wanted, I handled the ordering of these myself.

I recently remodeled my house and was sorely disappointed. He worked with my designer, Misti Riedel, the owner of Style Haven Interiors and I and had the patience of a saint. Horizon construction and Remodeling did a major kitchen remodel for us including removal of walls, fireplace, and reconstruct a large portion of our ceiling. They literally transformed our kitchen!After checking out many others, we decided to choose Horizon Construction and Remodeling because of all the great reviews. After meeting the staff, our project manager David Eskin and reading all the positive reviews we knew we made the right decision. The staff is wonderful. Very caring, respectful and honest. Our kitchen turned out beautiful. We are very happy with the outcome!Demolition was right on schedule and the crew was excellent, very fast and left the job neat at the end of the day. We did however encounter a set back which caused a long pause after demolition. This lengthened the job quite a bit and added additional expense and inconvenience (we feel) could have been avoided with a more through inspection (pre-demo).All the staff at Horizon are great to work with. David our project manager is terrific. He is easy to work with and very helpful. He provided suggestions that were very helpful and added to the beauty of our job. There were times he could have lost his patience because of my indecisiveness but never once did! He’s a true gentleman.Caesar our cabinet maker is a master at his trade. We love his work and are so pleased with our cabinets!Something notable that you may not find in many other constructions companies. We recently had our 2500 square foot home remodeled by Horizon Construction & Remodel, which included the kitchen, master bath, flooring, lighting, paint, fireplaces, millwork, plumbing and tile. We contacted a total of four general contractors, all of whom were within the same approximate price range, however, after meeting with Mike Roppo, we decided to sign a contract with Horizon and we’re glad we did! Mike was our Project Manager and he did an excellent job overseeing and managing the entire project from start to finish. He is professional, knowledgeable, personable and made sure that everything was done right! He was quick to respond to phone calls, texts, and emails and came by to check the work often. We are retired so we were able monitor the work as it was being completed. At times issues would arise, but whenever we expressed a concern, Mike was prompt to resolve it, making sure that all work was done to our complete satisfaction and that no corners were cut. All of the contractors that worked in our home were very experienced and good at what they did! We were especially impressed with Hector who painted the entire inside of the house, and Victor who did all of the tile and marble work in the master bath, kitchen, and fireplaces. Also Ulyses (plumbing), Hugo (flooring), Caesar (countertops), and Tomar (electrician), were all excellent at their crafts. The process of remodeling our entire home took five months and everything turned our beautiful! Horizon Construction & Remodel is an excellent company that stands behind their work and prides themselves in customer satisfaction!

I hired Mark Besnos and Enna of Horizon Construction and Remodeling in the spring of 2019 to do a complete kitchen remodel which included removing a load bearing wall and removing a gas fireplace. The actual construction began with the demolition in mid-July and the job was completed the last week of October. I had a great experience overall despite the usual stresses of a home remodeling project (and living in the house during construction). Mark listened to my ideas and concerns and he helped me bring the beach cottage home of my dreams to fruition. He was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice on every aspect of the project. Mark and Enna invited me to their showroom in Fullerton and showed me a wide variety of materials (flooring, tile, Quartz, cabinetry, etc.) to choose from. I appreciated Mark’s attention to detail, thorough explanation of our contract, extensive resources, and consistent open communication. Mark was the project manager for my remodel and he was onsite regularly to oversee his crew. I always felt as though my project was Mark and Enna’s top priority. Any time I had a question or concern, Mark and/or Enna, promptly took my call or immediately called me back. Mark was committed to keeping the project on schedule as much as possible, even when unforeseen delays occurred due to materials being held up. He always had a plan B to keep things moving. All of his crew members were very reliable, courteous, and dedicated. Many of his crew members even came to my house on weekends. I am extremely happy with my new, improved, expansive kitchen, living, and dining room. I absolutely love it! We hired Horizon Construction to do a complete remodel of our master bathroom including demo, tile flooring, shower, recessed lights, bathtub, toilet, vanity, and everything else.Overall, we love how the project turned out and will definitely consider them for our next project.Reliability: 10/10Eitan kept the project on track and was super communicative. Horizon was able to get the job done in the expected time frame (despite a lot of complications from the pandemic shut down and from Home Depot failing three times to send us a tub without a crack in it).Cost: 7/10We received three quotes from general contractors in the area. Horizon was the most expensive but was close to the next highest price bid.Quality: 9/10We are very pleased with how everything was installed and looks. We had a lot of tile work done and quality of the install really stands out. There were a couple teensy things we had to catch ourselves and ask for touch ups.

Horizon did a terrific job on a complete makeover of our master bathroom (including the shower, jacuzzi, flooring, counter-tops, sinks, and cabinetry) and the replacement of all kitchen cabinetry, drawers, and sink. This was a big project for us -- so it was important to select a contractor who was reliable, had all the right skill sets, and was committed to quality. Horizon delivered on all fronts with flying colors!We found Horizon through Angie’s List. After reading comments on Angie’s List and on many other web sites such as BBB and Yelp, we decided to get estimates from Horizon and three other service providers. After our initial interview with each prospective provider, we concluded that Horizon provided the most comprehensive services at pricing that was very competitive.Our project involved a variety of skillsets including woodworking, plumbing, electrical, tile installation, fabrication and cutting of counter-top surfaces, and finishing and painting. Rather than hiring a jack-of-all trades, Horizon delivered highly skilled craftsmen in each field who completely embraced Horizon’s expectations for quality.Our Horizon project manager David was instrumental to the success of our project. David did a great job coordinating and supervising the work of each of the craftsmen. David was very responsive and easy to reach when questions arose. David was on site regularly to inspect progress and assure that the craftsmen met Horizon’s high expectations for quality. On occasions when David noted items requiring special attention, the craftsmen were eager to respond. David was also very responsive and attentive to all observations we shared as the project progressed. It was clear that the craftsmen all shared Horizon’s deep commitment to quality. The craftsmen were also very courteous and productive throughout the duration of our project.We are very pleased with the end-product and the process Horizon followed from start to finish (including design suggestions and assistance with surface material selections). (2020) We had such a positive experience with Horizon Construction on our three bathroom remodel a few years back, we reached out to them once again to address a much smaller dining room project. The update was a small job but did require a skillset that I didn't want to leave to just any contractor. I wanted a trusted company to perform the room update and match existing texture at a reasonable cost. Mark and team visited, provided valuable insight and sent Leo who did an absolute perfect job. It's always a pleasure to speak with Mark and Enna and we highly recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling for all home improvements, big and small.(2017) We contracted with Horizon Construction and Remodeling to remodel all three of our bathrooms. Mark, Enna and the administrative staff were fully involved throughout the project providing updates, schedule reminders and addressing all of our concerns along the way. While we were upgrading the two upstairs bathrooms, we had a family of 5 sharing a downstairs shower. Mark was good about keeping the project moving forward and getting us use of the upstairs bathrooms as soon as possible. During the demo work, we uncovered bathtub rust. Mark covered the options and was able to work in the schedule a replacement with a project quick change order. We also decided midflight of the remodel that the existing cabinets were not going to work. Mark once again was able to provide options for us to address within our timeframe and budget. As during any remodel big or small, issues and challenges will arise. Mark and the whole Horizon team went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were extremely pleased with the process and end results. We very much appreciated the communication, periodic onsite morning meetings and the breakdown of payments spread throughout the 4 month project that allowed us a little more control of the finances. Overall, we appreciated the honesty, upfront discussions, and their dedication to details to make our bathrooms beautiful. We would not hesitate to contract with them again. Horizon Construction recently completed a fireplace remodel in my home. This was our first attempt at any major work here. They were very professional and did a great job. There were times when they had to work around my schedule and times when workers remained until evening to finish a project.I appreciate the prompt responses I received from Mike and the office staff when I had questions. He made good suggestions and had explanations about the process. As in another review, the cost was significant for a one-wall redo, but I’m very happy with the result.There’s a small adjustment needed in the recessed lighting, but I’m confident this will be finished soon. Overall, I think they were professional and easy to work with.
