Alex (CEO and Owner) hired me as a laborer. When he hired me, he didn't request any documents from me. After I did work he paid me my first salary of $1,800 and he did not request any documents from me. I kept working under his supervision. When it was time to pay me my second salary in the amount of $5,400 because I finished all the work and asked him for payment for the work I did, he stopped answering phone calls, text and email messages. After I told him that I will file a claim to the Small Claims Court he responded to my email and told me that since I don't have a license, he will pay me $2,600 instead of $5,400. He requested me to show him my license, even though I told him in the beginning that I don't have a license and that I am searching for work that doesn't require a license. I refused his offer because I did work for $5,400 and not for $2,600 and I think that it is a fraud. I’ve been trying to get my money for the work I did for more than a year. He used my labor for free and he got paid for the job that I did. My review is to guard both homeowners and laborers, because Alex (Aleksandr) is a man of no scruples. The homeowner might have to pay for the work twice, first time to the General Contractor (Alex) and then to the employee because I assume it’s not the first time that Alex has not paid his employees. Run far and run fast from such a General Contractor like Alex (Aleksandr) because he is a scammer!!!

Alex and his crew of one were at our house everyday they said they'd be there. Alex responds 100% of the time to questions texted or e-mailed to him. He is extremely polite, clean, and reliable. We had a window rebuilt and two rooms painted. The window looks great (we'll have to wait for rain to see if the leak's fixed, but looks like it should be), and the repainted rooms also look great. Everything was covered when the rooms were painted, and there's no trace of paint anywhere in the rooms where it shouldn't be. Alex is a terrific person who is responsive and reliable; something that's hard to find in contractors these days.

We hired Alex to redo the hallway in our condo. He got deposit check from HOA for $9000 and for a month after was saying the HOA check did not clear so he is not working.I paid workers myself and after I and HOA confronted Alex about either the work or the money he just disappeared.No work no moneyStraight thief. I hired ModernGeneralContractor for a lighting improvement project in our house. They suggested that we make the walls smooth instead of textured while patching the openings after the wiring. It wasn’t cheap, but we were convinced after seeing how Alex was determined to propose the best options for our budget and was honest about where the crew would save costs on the project without defeating the purpose. We are glad we did it because our home looks modern and cozy now.

Alex did a fantastic job breaking up and leveling out a concrete slab and installing artificial grass in my back yard. It was a simple job that became very complicated due to live electrical wires that were discovered under the concrete. Alex was able to make the wires safe by doing work at the circuit so the job could continue without delay and followed up after I had an electrician re-wire. I highly recommend Modern General Contractor! They were fast, friendly and efficient at a very reasonable price.

I hired Alex and his crew to remodel my kitchen and build addition in my house in Los Angeles. I decided to go with Midern Heneral Contractor because I valued his upfront approach. As opposed to other contractors, Alex was honest about what needs to be done and pointed out all structural and hidden issues. There was no surprises and only few changes, mostly on my request. His crew was professional and respectful my neighbors too. I felt safe. They cleaned up every day, placed cones and covered my furniture with care.
