Kevin is a top to bottom professional. We hired him to remove asbestos from our 75 year old home, he got the job done under a tight schedule. When we were removing molding months later, and found one piece was hollow and had a small strip of asbestos left over, Kevin had his guys out the next day first thing and got it cleaned up at no cost. I hope I never have to deal with asbestos again, but if I do, it will definitely be Nielsen Environmental.

Nielsen did a great job with lead abatement at our house. Every single room was covered in lead tile and they got it out and cleaned up very quickly and for a reasonable price. When they were done the work area was spotless and all traces of lead and asbestos mastic were gone. I highly recommend their services! Save yourself the time on googling providers and hire Kevin and his team. We had Nielsen Environmental come do about 2800sf of asbestos popcorn ceiling removal, as well as, black mold removal on parts of our ceiling. Throughout the entire process - from consultation to finished work, Kevin was BEYOND thorough, kind, and honest. Kevin and his team did some work on my place, and exceeded my expectations. His price beat the competition, and the time required was significantly less than estimated by the competition. I had independent testing performed, and Kevin's team passed all tests the first time. One of the tests ran long, and Kevin and his team were able to accommodate the change in plans, working late one night to finish up so my construction schedule would not be impacted. His team is clean, courteous, cheerful, on time, honest, and a pleasure to work with. I will be asking Nielsen Environmental to perform more work in the future as a result of this experience, and I strongly recommend them to others.

Kevin and his team did the most amazing job removing asbestos containing material from our house. When I called Kevin for help he was very responsive and went out to our house, provided me with a detailed quote, and mobilized his crew within a day to start work. He provided me with important recommendations and candid insight which is refreshing and difficult to come by. He said “Dave, I’ve got this” which pretty much sums up our experience. Not only did he have a handle on the situation - he dominated it! He set up a command station in the kitchen, like a military general, with 8 guys in the house in full gear performing the work. He stuck to his time estimate and executed the plan. No detail was overlooked. His final bill mirrored the initial quote without any change orders or upcharges which is how it should be but rarely is. Kevin made our home safe for our family. We trust him with our lives - it is so hard to find someone like him. I can’t recommend Kevin and Nielsen Construction highly enough.

My husband and I purchased a home recently and we wanted the popcorn ceilings removed stat. Unfortunately, our popcorn ceilings had been tested and there was asbestos found in it so it had to be removed by an asbestos abatement company. I contacted Kevin after having found him on Yelp and Google and he was quick to provide me with a quote. What stood out to me about Kevin and his company was that he promised to get the job done in one day. Other companies I contacted were asking for a few days. Fast forward 2 weeks later, Kevin and his team show up at my house 45 minutes early. I leave for work at 8:00 am, I come back from work around 6:30 pm and they're packing up. Talk about quick service! What impressed me the most was how respectful him and his team were with our property. Although there was nothing in the house except fixtures and closet doors, his team was very careful with everything. They left as if they never came. Kevin Nielsen is a true professional. I reached out to five companies (some referrals and other through Yelp reviews) to remove approximately 2,100 sf of popcorn off of the ceilings of my new home. Out of the five, only four companies returned my calls. Out of those four, only three even sent me quotes. Out of the three, Nielsen Environmental had the best responsiveness (to both email and phone), best rate, best availability and best turnaround time. I called Kevin on a Monday and emailed him the results of the asbestos testing that had already been done, received a quote Monday night, gave him the thumbs up on Tuesday and signed the contract and met him in person by Wednesday. The other two companies quoted me 4-5 days and 7 days for a job that took Kevin and his crew 1.5 days to complete. Everyone was incredibly nice and hard working and the place was left very clean when they left. Very glad to have found Nielsen Environmental.

After reaching out to (what I thought) were the three top Asbestos removal companies, Kevin was the only professional. Every communication with him was crystal clear. While other companies took weeks to setup an initial consultation, Kevin and I had already set up a plan of attack, a fair quote and were already moving forward.On the agreed start date, Nielsen Environmental came early with a half dozen of the hardest workers, supervised by an amazingly kind-hearted worker Jimmy.Kevin did an initial walk around, he informed me of some small things that should also be removed, then the team started sealing off the building, and getting right to work. At one point later in the project, the supervisor Jimmy took me around to view all the work that had been done so far. In good fun I mentioned how the other rooms looked like a 10/10 but this room was a 7. Jimmy immediately asked how he could correct it. Amazing!! Kevin and his team are awesome! Initially, we contracted Nielsen Environmental to remove some old furnace equipment and air ducts that contained asbestos from the home we had just purchased. That same day, Kevin confirmed our suspicion that all four bedrooms had an old tile w/mastic that also contained asbestos. He put me at ease with the whole process and was very professional.He arrived early to take out my original 1930-ish (asbestos wrapped) heating ducts from under the house. He was quick, efficient and did a great job. Super diligent in masking and clean up. He showed me the before and after pictures, and he even picked up some extra trash that was left under the house from who knows what.Kevin went above and beyond. Highly recommend. This is my first yelp review, just thought it was important to get the info out there. Nielsen Environmental & Kevin Neilsen are the real deal. Professional, attentive, problem solver, fair. I initially contacted Kevin to bid on the hazardous material removal on an old Victorian house that we needed to demolish in downtown Los Angeles. Kevin arranged for the 3rd party testing , promptly removed the hazardous materials, and came in under budget. Realizing that we had never done anything like this, Kevin offered to oversee the entire demolition of the house. He worked with the City, pulled all the proper permits and brought in an excellent demolition subcontractor. We had some historical designation issues that had to be cleared up, but Kevin always stayed in contact and when we were given permission to proceed he and his team acted swiftly. He was on site everyday fixing any issues, keeping the demolition exactly on schedule and on budget. Kevin is a pleasure to work with and if i ever needed services like this again, he would be the only one I would call.
