Had an appointment scheduled for today for a quote. Told them exactly what I want the system to be for an HVAC replacement and that my wife was gonna be home while I’m at work. I think the guy’s name was Sydney, but he canceled because I wasn’t gonna be present myself. I let him know that I am available for a phone call if any questions arise. I don’t know if this was a salesman tactic for me to be present and have me accept their offer on the spot through some sales pitch, but canceling just because I am not gonna be there is ridiculous. This is no way to conduct business. I had plenty of contractors come by to make an estimated quote with just my wife present. And most called after to explain and adjust if necessary. I have a job and cannot just leave to be present during the estimate. Staying away from these guys.

At the end of summer, my AC unit outside was making some whining noise. Straight Line came out and checked it out. Said the fan motor was going out. Since Straight Line did my new ducting a couple of years ago and my unit was 20 years old, I decided to get a new AC Unit instead of repairing it. Not only did I get a great price on a new Trane, it was way more energy efficient and is going to save me money. Sidney scheduled the install and they were out on time and completed it the same day. Lots of work and it was getting hot outside, but they did a great job.So winter update, my heater was making noise when it started up, so I called Sydney and he came out and checked it out and found that the Inducer motor was getting ready to go at some point. Knowing that this part was not cheap and my heater was 20 years old, I opted for a new heater. Straight Line, scheduled the install and installed a new Lennox Heater. It is awesome, efficient and quiet. Very happy again with their pricing and service. They are awesome and I highly recommend them.

My A/C went out during the worst heatwave over a 3day weekend in North County. Justin was the first one that could see me. For a reasonable price he replaced a capacitor and tested my system. He said it should last me a few more years. Thank goodness he saw me first, I thought I needed a whole new system. That was a year ago and it still works fine. He is very honest and great at explaining HVAC so that I anyone can understand.

Sidney and his team installed a new HVAC system in my home. They completed the project in just a few days, They were on time and very clean. I had several estimates, including from one of the major do it yourself centers, and their price was very reasonable - installing top grade equipment. Further, they have been very responsive to any questions and even dropped after hours to address an issue with my smart thermostat. Nothing bad to say, just completely satisfied. I called Sydney late morning a few weeks ago to have him give me a quote on a new heater and air conditioner. He came within a couple of hours. He new exactly what my house needed. I had gotten a quote earlier that day that was twice as much as Sydney’s quote and they weren’t even going to replace the air conditioner cooling lines. When Sydney saw what I had he said everything would be brand new, even the cooling lines. Sydney was very professional. He had his son and his son’s helper install the new units early the following week. They did an excellent job. Very professional. I would have no problem referring Straight Line to anyone looking to get a new HVAC system installed.

I don't think I can tell you enough good stuff about Straight Line!They installed a new forced air heating system and air conditioning unit in a home I bought last year in Paso Robles.First off, they came in several hundred dollars under the other two local estimates I had gotten for this project. They also were very honest with me about the condition of my existing ducting, even though it didn't make them any additional money on the job (another very prominent company in the area came in and added over $2000.00 to their estimate to basically re-duct the house when it was fine).Sydney, the owner, returned all of my calls and emails promptly, with complete information on what needed to happen next and where the project was at as it progressed. I was never in the dark about anything; how many contractors can you say that about?!All appointments/work was scheduled in a very reasonable time frame, and arrivals were on time.Today is a perfect example. I emailed Sydney first thing this morning about a question with my new AC unit and he got back to me within an hour. His technicians were out here in the time frame he estimated, same day. It's supposed to be 100 degrees today in my neck of the woods, but my house is at a cool 75 because of his prompt service work with my request.Everything was done so well that I doubt I will be needing anything new or repaired for a while, but I would recommend Straight Line to anyone. Get comfy!

Justin came out within 2 business days to look at our AC and was able to tell us it was beyond repair (which we kind of knew). They gave us a quick estimate and did a fantastic job! The installation went so smoothly. They showed up everyday, worked so diligently and always ended the day by making sure everything was clean and picked up. My house was taking forever to cool for years and cost a small fortune in power to run it. I previously had to local companies come out and take a look to see what's going on. Both told me that my AC was too small for the house and I would need a new system. I contacted Sydney, who had a couple of his guys come out, check my unit and said that the unit is not too small and they need to access the attic for further trouble. They went up did some testing and said that I was looking about 40% of air in my attic. They recommended replacing all the ducts because most of them were leaking from bad duct work, installed a bigger return vent, better ceiling vents, a new ceiling vent and more insulated R8 ducts. I had R2. After spending very little money compared to replacing my AC unit, my house now cools very quickly and my electricity bill is about 1/4 of what it was. These guys are good and the techs that did all the work were very professional and cleaned up everything after they were done. Straight Line is definitely honest. They could have told me that I need a new unit also, but they didn't. I'm glad I found them!

Straight Line Heating and Cooling not only beat other companies prices, they got it done the very next day after we called them. Thank you Sydney and Crew for our new Furnace and AC condenser!The crew showed up as scheduled and had our new equipment installed by end of day. An issue was discovered with the old furnace flue and the new part was ordered and overnight shipped for installation the next day.The AC condenser is extremely quiet and is so much more efficient our electric bill during the hot summer months dropped significantly.Sydney will respond immediately if you have questions or concerns with regard to your equipment. These guys did a great job with my home heating and cooling system. Sydney did and energy evaluation and recommended that we change a few things on my heat and AC unit to improve efficiency. My house is an older two story house with little attic ventilation so he recommended a temperature controlled automatic attic fan and a Tamarack remote controlled whole house fan. With these great improvements I hardly need to run my AC and when I do, it can actually cool down the house in a much shorter period of time. They really helped dramatically improve the efficiency of heating and cooling my home. Thank you!!!!Brandon

I have a room that gets terrible circulation and is either always hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's a great room and the wife wanted to make a game room that we actually spend time in. I had Sydney and Son install a split system Fujitsu Heat/Cool unit and I couldn't be happier. They were literally thousands of dollars cheaper than the competition and they were extremely honest, reliable and very easy to like. I have had some horrible experiences with Heating and Cooling companies, and I am stoked to find one that I can trust! I will only use Straight Line in the future and have already recommended them to several people.

What a local gem of a company!! I called after our AC went out in the middle of a heat wave, the owner Sydney answered and was able to come out the following morning. What a nice guy and so I knowledgable- he's been doing this for 30 years. In 30 minutes he diagnosed the problem and got it fixed! He also had a young trainee with him and I loved watching and hearing how he walked him through what he was doing- can tell he's a great leader and boss. If you are experiencing any heating or cooling problems, they are your guys!!

It was during the real bad hot spell we had when I called Sydney for help. He called me right back and came out the next day. He gladly climbed into the attic to check on some things! He replaced a couple of parts and only charged me $300 for everything. I know he was fair, honest, reputable and a man of integrity. He could have charged me much more and I never would have known the difference. The air conditioner has worked perfectly since it was fixed. I would highly recommend Straight Line Heating and Cooling to everyone. I've already been referring people to him. Thanks for allowing us to have cold air in our home in San Miguel. Great job!

I rarely write reviews, but Straight Line has earned a kudos. I had called around to multiple HVAC shops to get suggestions on what I should do after my compressor failed in the condensor (big thing that sits outside). Most of the places just tried to up-sell me on new coils, UV lights, etc.... I called Sydney, and he made time to come visit me that day and take a look (big plus for me as I have a busy schedule). Sydney took the time to explain to me the various options and gave a fair price on each for the work required. I had them install a brand new Trane condensor a few months ago, and I couldn't be happier with the results. He sent Justin (his son and business partner) and David over to do the work, and they were great! They listened to my concerns about proper placement of the unit, and even made a few improvements to the drain pipes for me. I highly recommend these guys, and will be calling them for all of my future HVAC work.

After years of having a heating/cooling system that left us chilly in the winter and sweating in the summer, as well as not economically feasible to use, we just had a new system installed by Straight Line. This new mini split heating and air conditioning system was not only half the price of the traditional systems quoted by four other companies, but is very efficient, as well. We've lived in our home for 35 years and for the the first time ever this new system keeps us warm! In addition, the gentlemen installing the system were reliable, hard-working, personable, and patient answering our many questions.
